Petplan Equine Omdömen 

Following the devastating loss of my young horse after almost three weeks in hospital undergoing surgery and intensive treatment, I cannot fault Petplan Equine for the support they provided throughout such an incredibly difficult time.

Their communication was excellent from start to finish, and every interaction was handled with compassion, sensitivity, and professionalism. The claims process itself was completely stress-free, with Petplan dealing directly with the veterinary hospital efficiently and promptly, which allowed me to focus entirely on my horse rather than worrying about paperwork or finances during such an emotional period.

Although the outcome for my horse was heartbreaking, I am extremely grateful for the kindness and support shown by Petplan throughout. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for reliable and compassionate equine insurance cover.

Absolutely awful to deal with regarding death of horse claims.
My horse has a freak accident in the field, after numerous upsetting calls having to explain the situation over and over again, providing witness statements that my horse was put down, I have now been asked if I took any pictures of my horse dying/dead!!. After a month I’m still being told they need more information. Awful customer service and expensive premiums, much better insurances out there!

Staff very helpful with advice and support with my claim. It was handled very quickly would definitely recommend.

I was of course stressed about my horse and his injury but Pet Plan were extremely helpful and efficient. My claim was settled very quickly, I was really happy with the way Pet Plan dealt with everything and kept in touch on a regular basis.

I had been with Petplan Equine for near on 18 years and I can honestly say I have never had any issues. The call centre staff are always incredibly helpful when I have rung and have a sensitive approach to situations. I no longer have a horse but if ever were to get another I would definitely insure them with Petplan Equine. I cannot recommend them enough, my claims have always been sorted promptly and easily, making it less stressful me as a horse owner.

No real point to the insurance.
Unfortunately I needed to make a claim on the policy following a pony needing to be PTS with colic. Petplan did everything they could to ensure that they minimised the claim. The pony responded to initial treatment so was not travelled to the hospital for surgery, by the time he deteriorated he was unable to travel as too unwell. Petplan maintained that because he could have travelled earlier in the day they would not cover any aspect of the euthanasia. My crystal ball was on charge that day sadly!
A bill of £1500, they covered £300. I would have been better off saving the monthly premium and using that towards the vet fees. Zero compassion during difficult times and an unnecessary upset. I will be self insuring by saving the monthly fees for my other horses.

Petplan aren't the cheapest, but you get what you pay for. On the unfortunate occasions where I've needed to make a claim (going through one at the moment), they've reacted promptly, courteously and provided the expected outcome. I am very happy to recommend them and will be staying with them as long as I need them. Thank you.

Petplan are very easy to deal with. They pay out quickly, deal with my vet directly and are great on the phone if you need to get in touch. They are one of the more expensive providers on the market but you do get what you pay for.

Petplan is the best, 100%, every vet I’ve spoken to agree, it may be slightly more expensive (I mean slightly) but it pays out no hassles, the support is personal and professional.
I use for both my horse and dogs wouldn’t go with anyone else.

Easy and hassle free claims process and claim dealt with very rapidly direct to my vet. Could not fault the service received and would definately recommend Petplan Equine.

Petplan Equine have been amazing from start to finish. They really have made the whole process easy and stress free. I would always use Petplan and couldn’t recommend them enough during this stressful time. I didn’t know what to do or where to start when I found out my horse had ulcers and a lameness issue but my vet said Petplan would help with anything I need and they have been amazing. Thank you!
