This credit union holds onto a customers money long after it goes in the account...and there is no consistency as to WHEN I can begin paying my bills. Money went in probably last night but it could be supposed if money is meant to go in on a certain day each pay then it SHOULD be automatically in the account AT MIDNIGHT. Often....I can begin paying bills at 4am as I have busy day pay day but lately on internet credit card info coming up as "invalid" and so far I've tried paying several bills ALL of which are coming up as "invalid" it's doing my head in because one NEEDS consistency and with them now having less branches it's a trek to get to a branch especially when the day is full of obligations which include the paying of bills. I've racked up an end of month bill for next month due to this ridiculous inconsistency and will be looking for another institution...one that doesn't hold on to my money so I don't know when it's in and then have to pay the excess due to THEIR shoddy, gteedy business practices. There are myriad problematic but I don't have time for this anymore. It's more simple to just change to a bank or credit union that offers a consistent, fair service.

I only wish I had read these reviews before I made the big mistake of buying with Peoples Choice, big mistake, I bought the policy on 7th Jan 2020 and on the 8th Jan 2020, I went online to my account to add my personal private registration to my car and they charged me £33 for the privelage m the very same car, nothings changed exceot the registration, I would not recommend this company , it is Hastings direct linked.

Funny enough, I never had problems with them until I cancelled my policy. My first problem is that they told me it would cost around £20 to cancel my policy, I thought great. Then a few minutes later it somehow rose to £69 to cancel the policy.

SO once all that has been agreed, I got an email from them saying they would take the last payment in 3 installments over 3 months, I thought that was a great idea and commended them for this. Then a day later I found out that they took the full fee straight away.

I just don't understand why a company says they will do one thing and then do another. Good riddance!

Another thing is that customer service doesn't seem to be the most experienced here. a routine 5 minute call will turn into 1 hour with these guys because they never do their job properly.

I regret taking out a policy out with People's Choice. I'm stuck with them for the next 12 months and I do hope I don't have to make a claim. The service advisors are argumentative are unhelpful, and there seems to be traps and pitfalls everywhere just to get more money out of you. I can't even access my policy online and they've sent nothing out.

Horrible service, dealing with a father with dementia, no help what so ever and rude ! To busy trying to push car insurance on people so the line get long, one person on the counter that just CBF! When this bloody account is finally closed will be a good damm day!

absolutely appalling company, was insured with them for 2 years. just found out they had not renewed my policy as say they couldn't find anyone to quote despite them and other hastings subsidiaries appearing on price comparison sites. failed to write to me to inform me of the none renewal. in process of taking legal action . avoid at all costs!

Smart car 600cc (or below) over 10 years NCD, 38 year old driver, no convictions, no claims. They offer me a quote I’ve £800 for (because I added this car on multi car this was for half a year).

Never felt so violated by such scammers my whole life. Avoid these thieves like the plague. Please!!!!!!! Be..... warned. Go for the Red Phone/Red Mouse insurance

People's choice is owned by Hastings.

I went with these as they was cheapest. Nothing was said by them in the first 14 days but as soon as the cancellation period was over. I was spammed with emails about cancelling my policy if I did not give them so many details of all people on the policy.

They wanted copies of the front and back of all people's license on the policy.
To log in online to show no one had any points on their licenses.
I had to run around so many times to get all the details that it was such a hassle.

They then refused to re-insure me the next year because they did not like one of the people on my policy and if I took them off they would then re-insure me. It only cost 50p a year to have that person on my policy so I don't think they liked it.

I just kept getting threats that they would cancel my policy. I think the company are scammers who will do anything to void someone's policy to get the fees up.

I have today had to learn the biggest lesson I have every had to learn and I wish I had read the poor result on this site. I took out insurance with peoples choice not knowing that they are part of hastings direct to my cost ,I had done a money supermarket application giving all the info required to do car insurance and have none found that they are the same company,they have come back to me wanting to know everything from my inside leg measurement to when I go to bed , I have been driving for 40 year with no accidents ,and they have come back to me after taking my money to say that I have to pay an extra £800 pound to change an address which they had wrongly taken from a section of paperwork which I sent them as requested so its not there fault its all mine ,

stay clear of this company and hasting as they will rip you off.

1. A nightmare to contact. 2. Despite saying i did not want to autorenew they still did it but sent me a letter to say they would not and are now saying i have a debt with them. 3. Any phone call is at least an hour waitibg to discuss your policy. 4. Took 11 months to send me my policy docs and I had to phone and ask for then several times.

This company attempted to withdraw over a £100 out of my husbands account without his consent! Plus the fact he has no car and no form of insurance. Thankfully the bank blocked it from going out. Do not trust them at all.

Please read the reviews before you take up an insurance policy with there scammers. the worst company possible. Give you a cheaper price when taking a quotation on comparison sites and look for useless silly reasons to charge you money additionally. please don't buy and policies with these theaves. I am making a complaint to FSA as well these people should not be allowed to trade as insurance companies. I am sure they will look into all the wrong reasons in case you make a claim in an accident. This is as if you don't have insurance but still paying these theaves money. By all means, a company to avoid.

STAY CLEAR OF PEOPLES CHOICE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My uncle took out a policy and they tried to auto-renew this, which I know he selected not to do, as I completed the application. My uncle has been trying to call for over a week and has not been able to get through to the call center. When I tried, and eventually got through to an advisor, they refused to help and the call advisor hung up in the middle of the conversation. My uncle has now been on hold again for over 25 mins and cannot get through. I would not use this company or their associates for any services in the future as their customer service is abysmal.
Update: my uncle has just been charged 33 pound to not renew his insurance! This is two weeks before his current insurance is due to expire, so therefore within time and to have the privilege of not renewing a product that has not started, he had to make a payment. Absolutely disgusting!!!

Be warned as you take out your policy. Loads of added charges for things that just aren't right. Tried to add £5 to change my email address on the quote screen! Took out one policy that then the documents had removed my ability to drive other vehicles.
Charge different prices from the comparethemarket website to their own, to their subsidy "peopleschoice" and "quickquote" app. 4 prices for the exact same details.
I decided to cancel the policy as they quoted me £20 cheaper on a Sunday (why?) and despite was 2 weeks before the policy even started, and within my 14 days cooling off, tried to charge me £20 to cancel.
Customer services not particularly helpful - guy on the phone agree the charge was ridiculous but wasn't able to override the computer - Manager AGREED with the charge.

I insured myself to drive my sons car for a year and forgot to cancel the policy which is my own fault of course .

However, when after a month i realised that I should cancel the policy as my sons car had been written off by a another driver I did so ( after going round the houses and spending forever trying to navigate the website and hopeless phone service ) only to find I had been hit with a £45 cancellation fee for a car that has now been scrapped.

I am sure that its in the small print somewhere but I do feel I should share this rip-off with you.I insure my own car elsewhere and would never use this company because of the clear rip off of the cancellation fee

They don't have enough people to answer the phones. Every time you call expect to be on hold for around an hour. They have contact on their website / app but not for the things you would need them for, like cancelling your renewal.

They reel you in with low quote then rip you off..I read the reviews but thought. and thought it wont happen to me. I was wrong...I am 62 and when was asked my occupation I said retired cos I was not working. They got back to me a few weeks later.and asked my occupation. which I replied retired.They said your not retired your unemployed. WHich officially I suppose I was..That minor mistake cost me £169..They say there is a charge of £30 or £40 .They also add on lots more Which I dont understand...I also had a neighbour who had an accident.And they refused to pay anything They are experts at finding faults to make money...BEWARE .Dont do what I do and ignore the awful reviews They will catch you somehow
