⭐ Very disappointing stay at Skipsea Sands

Unfortunately, our family holiday at Parkdean Skipsea Sands was extremely disappointing.

One of the biggest issues was the noise and disturbance from neighbouring guests, which made it very difficult to relax and enjoy our holiday and disturbed our young daughter.

We were also really disappointed with the cleanliness of our accommodation. There was mould in the bathroom/shower, which we absolutely would not expect in accommodation we had paid good money for, especially somewhere marketed towards families.

During our stay we also experienced a loss of electricity and water. We appreciate that the power cut affected the wider area and wasn’t something Parkdean could control, but it still had a significant impact on our holiday and meant some of our pre-booked activities couldn’t go ahead.

What frustrated us most was that we raised these issues with reception while we were actually staying at the park. Rather than feeling that our concerns were taken seriously or that anyone tried to resolve them, we felt dismissed and were simply given an email address and told to complain.

The affected activities have since been refunded, but this doesn’t address the noise, the mould in the accommodation or the poor way our concerns were handled while we were there.

A holiday is something families look forward to and spend a lot of money on, and we expected a much better standard from Parkdean. Unfortunately, this experience has left us extremely disappointed and reluctant to book with Parkdean Resorts again.

We arrived at Lizard Point on 7th September for a four-day holiday. There was initially some confusion at reception regarding our booking, as they did not have us down for half-board, which we had paid for in advance. This was eventually resolved, and we were given the keys to our dog-friendly chalet.

On entering the accommodation, our first impressions were reasonable, although the sofa was old, noticeably damaged and did not appear particularly clean. While we were unpacking, our dog settled on the sofa for around 20 minutes before I noticed she was biting and scratching herself quite badly. When I checked her over, I discovered fleas on her. She has never had fleas before.

I immediately picked her up and returned to reception to report the issue. I explained that I was not prepared to stay in accommodation where I had discovered what appeared to be fleas. The member of staff I spoke to said, "I don't blame you, I wouldn't stay in there either." Despite this, no alternative accommodation was offered, so we felt we had no choice but to leave after approximately two hours.

Since leaving, I have made several complaints but have been informed that no refund will be provided. I was told that the manager had not seen any fleas when the accommodation was checked at around 9:30 pm. I found this disappointing, as I had personally discovered fleas on my dog and had reported the issue immediately. I was also confused to hear the accommodation referred to as a caravan when we had actually been staying in a chalet.

I was additionally told that there were numerous black dog hairs on the bed. This was surprising, as our dog is golden-coloured, and I do not know where these hairs came from.

Having stayed at many dog-friendly holiday sites, this was an extremely disappointing experience. We had paid for a four-day holiday but left after just two hours because of concerns about the condition of the accommodation and the presence of fleas. To make matters worse, we have been left significantly out of pocket despite raising our concerns straight away.

Overall, this was a very disappointing start to what should have been a relaxing break. I would have expected our concerns to be taken seriously and a reasonable resolution to be offered. Based on our experience, I would think carefully before booking again.

Easy to find the holiday you want and the booking systems is easy to use.

It was relatively easy, the only thing is, they automatically showed 3 bedroom caravans, when booking is for 3 guests.
Maybe automatically show 2 bedrooms first? Even though I made the mistake of booking the 3 bed, I did manage to change on the live chat.

The live chat needs a serious update/upgrade. I was kicked off of the chat 3 times, even though I was waiting in the online queue. When I did eventually get an advisor, she was absolutely lovely. Changed the booking to a 2 bed, and it was seamless.
The AI chat bot is useless though. Not enough options for the reasons I was on there. I could have phoned, but I did have my hands full with other things. So live chat was the easier option.

Website easy to use and a good selection of different sizes caravans. Several options available to pay.

Waited nearly an hour for food in lochloy. Not really busy so no excuse. When the food came no onion rings on as stated on menu and food flat cold. I would have complained but finding someone to actually complain to was a joke. Staff don’t really seem that bothered. Disappointed with this since I was a big fan of this place.

I have just been to Cresswell towers holiday park Northumberland with my sister,Monday to Friday. We booked a silver level 6 berth.

Although it seemed newish,it had a very disappointing level of comfort. No lamps in any rooms,no cushions on a very uncomfortable bench seating area. No bin in the lounge or bathroom and no mattress covers on any of the beds.
I burnt my leg when I brushed against the bedroom radiator,it was turned to max,with the boiler set at 80 and the water at 85. This is dangerously high and likely to scald. No instructions came for the microwave. The beading around the doors had not been fixed in place or glued and kept falling off. The selection of food at the shop was dismal with mostly snacks ,no veg, no real food available.
Drinks at the bingo cost us £7.50 for a small draught Dr Pepper and a small bottle of water.
We will be looking at other sites next time we visit the area.

The caravan I was in was disgusting! The sofa smelt so bad it needed burning, the arm had fallen off aswell! There was a dirty smelly covered in dog hair duvet in the bedroom cupboard which the cleaner had missed! The carpet was stained,no matress protectors or pillow protectors, no bath matt, it had literally just been cleaned but two hairs on the bathroom sink. It was the smell ,it was awful. They moved me to a 5* caravan which was also not great,curtain rail hanging off,stained matress, carpets needed a good clean and the sofa and chairs were all stained. Been coming to lower hyde for years,I complained last year about the state of the caravan so nothing changed! Sack your cleaning staff ! Will sadly never return to a parkdean again.

We stayed at warmwell in August 2026. If I could give it a 0, I would. The lodge was awful, there was dead flies over the blinds, walls and ceilings. The toilet seat was hanging on for dear life which isn’t good when you have young children. The step up to the lodge itself was dangerously wobbly. There was stains all over the beds , with no mattress or pillow protectors which I found most unhygienic to say the least. The staff were really friendly so I can’t fault them but the swimming pool wasn’t good, the changing rooms smelt like public toilets that hadn’t been cleaned for years. We spent 85% of our time out of the lodge and holiday park itself. If it was a holiday where we had to stay, we’d have left after the first night. When contacting parkdean to raise these issues they were utterly useless. My prediction is a lot of people are complaining about the same things! When you’ve spent a lot of money on a summer holiday with your family, you expect much higher standards. We will not be returning.

Where do we start,I'll keep to the point.We booked a, what was advertised as a Premium Gold with balcony,parking at side and sea view....very important sea view ,paid a premium for these things.Went to reception for keys at 4pm as requested, given keys to a No 6 which was occupied,went back, oh sorry its No 8 you want.middle of site, no sea view and we would not call it premium in any way.No heating as the boiler cupboard could not be opened to switch on as handle was broken off,supposed to be for 6 people,minimum supplies and not even a teapot ( 6 people 6 teabags ??? ) We also came home a day early.....Rubbish !!!

Nice park and area but there was some issues. The caravan and carpet definitely needed a better clean as the little one would get black marks all over from the dirty carpet. I also did not feel comfortable with the face recognition scan I called and I was told I could bring my license in with me on arrival instead but I did receive some attitude from the staff and was spoken over by the staff. I then received an email explaining if I did not complete my checking before arrival my booking could be cancelled so I had to complete it as I did not want to risk cancellation and stop the family holiday.

It was great to talk to person who was really lovely and polite and helped me with my booking. It's nice to see people acting like professional and keeping people at ease it was a privilege to once again booking my holiday with Vauxhall holiday camp.

The park is friendly and professional. It's everything I need in a holiday. Easy to get problems sorted out.

Caravan was the best I had a gold one but don’t know what was gold about it! Was t the cleanest and felt old out dated. That goes for the entertainment area aswell.

II paid nearly £1000 for my caravan, which was lovely, but we had no water for 3 days!
This was very hard as we had my daughter, who has an eating disorder and her daughter, who is 2, staying with us. They had to go home as there was no way of washing or flushing the toilet.

It's a great place to stay, as it's easy for all public transport services. We stay here 2 to 3 a year. Easy to book on line & staff are very helpful as I am disabled & staff are there with a helping hand.
