Thanks for getting in touch - we're very sorry to hear that you have had a disappointing experience with customer service - the vast majority of our reviews have been highly favourable to our customer experience and we work hard to ensure we provide a quick and resolute response.
We are just in the process of introducing 'what's in the box' information for customers, this will be going out in the weekly email and on Instagram. We have avoided providing any form of print out in the boxes for environmental reasons.
Lost the freshness of the Fruit & Veg
I have a subscription for a fortnightly small fruit and veg box. I have been very excited to receive the box every Friday, looking forward to fresh fruit and veg and the lovely taste of freshly grown produce. However, the last two deliveries have been very disappointing, mainly the last as the apples looked stale, the 2 pears were both rotting at the top, the leaves of the leek had turned yellow, lettuce withered, bananas over ripe. I know it is only a small box but lacking the freshness is very disappointing. I am considering cancelling my subscription as I feel it has lost the freshness of the fruit & vegetables.

First of all thank you for your subscription with us and we're pleased that previously you had loved the boxes.
Regarding your last two boxes we are very sorry that these haven't met the high standards we expect from Pale Green Dot produce. We have several steps in place to ensure that only the freshest produce goes into the boxes; clear buying standards / packers empowered to highlight damaged produce / warehouse manager doing spot checks of boxes, however this appears to have failed.
As a point of action we have now doubled the minimum number of spot checks the warehouse manager is making on all boxes leaving the depot and introduced photographic evidence of these boxes.
We have just moved our warehouse operations from Brighton to London (as of this week) so that we can have greater oversight of all boxes heading to our customers. This along with enhanced spot checks by the manager should ensure a step change in quality.
We really hope that you will give us another chance.

We’re sorry to hear that you feel the quantity of produce appears to have dropped - this certainly hasn’t been intentional, we strive to prove excellent value for money to our customers at all times.
There will of course be times when an item or two is accidentally missed from a box - whenever this happens and a customer contacts us to say they feel something is missed we will always provide a generous refund for the missing items. Of course this isn’t ideal and we’d much rather our customers received the boxes full.
We’ll ask customer services to try trace your order and refund you.

I love Pale Green Dot
I love Pale Green Dot!
Since the first lockdown we found out about the veg boxes and honestly do not know what we would have done without Pale Green Dot! We've been getting the veg and staples (with oat milk) box for 15 months now and it is such a great service. We base all our weeks food around what we get, and it makes sure we eat a lot of fruit and veg. Sometimes you get lovely little treats of things you wouldn't necessarily buy in the supermarket, but then find delicious when you discover ways of using them. Think celeriac, radishes, all kinds of beets, squash's, kale, swiss chard, and then all the usual amazing stuff - tomatoes, potatoes, carrots, onions.
The customer service is always really helpful and fast at getting back to you. If I ever need to pause a week or 2 at short notice they are really happy to do so.
Honestly love this company and everything they stand for.

I ordered a premium vegetables & fruits box. Few vegetables/fruits were partly rotten: 1 apricot over 4, 1 onion over 4, the pepper. I expected a better quality for a box of this price.

We have several steps in the journey to stop issues like this occurring (quality checks in the warehouse, packers empowered to flag quality issues, warehouse / distribution manager spot checking boxes as they're loaded into the vans etc), however this has clearly failed on this occasion. We have fed this back to our distribution team to review.
Customer services are processing a £12.50 refund for you as way of apology - we hope your next box doesn't disappoint.

I am enjoying it so far. However, I would love to have more variety of fruit and vegetables. I understand that what they offer is seasonal but it would great if they could allowed us to choose.
Regarding customer service, it is great. They are very efficient and lovely.

Diminishing returns, sadly
Have subscribed for over a year, but the transfer process between websites has been annoying due to not being automated and lately I cannot order a small box, which I have been ordering throughout, as the option has been deactivated on the new website. Fudging the URL worked for a while but now the page just gives a 404. I don't need a large box as there are only two of us, so after a fortnight of trying to get one I have given up and sourced a different veg box supplier.

We’re sorry to hear you have cancelled your subscription after so long with us, that’s incredibly disappointing.
Migrating to the new website was (as tech often is) more complicated than we’d hoped. Because its hosted on a different platform we were unable to simply migrate customer accounts over. We tried to make it as quick & easy as possible for customers by completing as much detail as possible for our customers before asking them to finish their account details with payment details and what subscription they wanted.
With regards to the small box no longer being on the site our small box is still there? And is available weekly or fortnightly.
We’ll get customer services to contact you to find out what happened as we’d love to get you back on board with PGD.

Great produce and service. Communication is fantastic, if there is ever an issue then I receive a response very speedily and things are resolved without any problems.

After reading in the Times that this…
After reading in the Times that this was a good supplier of veg boxes I gave them a go.
I put my postcode into the website, it told me that they did deliver to my area, great. I placed the order.
2 days later I received a text stating that my delivery would be delivered the next day between 9:05- 10:35am. At 5 pm when nothing had arrived on delivery day I emailed customer service and got a reply saying “We have recently had a change of structure and unfortunately we are no longer able to deliver to your area as it falls out of our delivery zone. I am sorry about the confusion today, this was an error in our system.”
Now they did refund me straight away so that’s good.
However the reason for 1 star is when I put my
Postcode in it still says they deliver to my area and I had no veg box this week. If I had known at the time of ordering I would of used another supplier. I now keep getting emails asking how they did and for a review.
Please sort your website out so people do not experience the same letdown as it still states you deliver to my area.

Thank you for alerting us to this issue - we are now urgently trying to resolve this in the back end of the website and ensure our postcode acceptance is working correctly with our updated delivery zones.
The reason you received a tx msg notification on your chosen delivery day is because our delivery routing software automatically plots the drops and then notifies the customer of the expected delivery time. You should have then been contacted by a member of the team when they noticed that your drop was outside of our delivery zone and a refund processed straight away.
Of course, none of this should have happened as our website shouldn’t have accepted the order to begin with and for this we are truly sorry for the disappointment caused and time taken to resolve this.
Small fruit and veg box with bread
The box arrived a day late in the late afternoon and the bread’s best before was that day.
