Amazing advice, knowledgeable and very nice and helpful people
I’ve never been in debt in my life or accepted any debt but still get this number calling me daily. As soon as I explain they hang up and call back demanding money again tomorrow. This company is like a legal gang. If they done this to an older/ more mainstream person they would probably have a 90% success rate of extorting money out of good people

I first contacted Step Change, but the budgetary part of the process really scared me and I stressed about how I was going to manage it. I then contacted the National Debtline and they walked me through the entire process and completed everything over the phone. Their advice and unwavering support, including forwarding my DRO to Citizens Advice (they deal with the submitted process and take the application to its outcome) has removed a lot of stress and start to believe that a DRO is possible.

contacted National Debtline for help with my debt situation and unfortunately the experience was extremely frustrating.
I spent a long time going through automated questions, only to be told I would be transferred to someone who could help. Instead, I was sent back to the original phone line and had to wait again, effectively starting the process over.
When I finally spoke to an adviser, I was asked to repeat the same information I had already provided earlier in the call, including personal details and a full breakdown of income and expenses. This made the process repetitive and unnecessarily time-consuming.
After around 54 minutes on the phone, I still hadn’t received any clear advice or resolution, so I ended the call myself.
When you are already under financial stress, this kind of experience feels disorganised and inefficient. I expected clearer guidance and a more straightforward route to getting help.
If you want, I can also:
make a short “rage version” (2–3 lines, more punchy)
or a calmer version that’s more likely to get an official response from them
or help you re-use this across multiple platforms so your complaint has more impact
