THIS COMPANY NEEDS TO TRADE IN AN ETHICAL MANNER AND STOP TREATING THEIR CUSTOMERS WITH ABSOLUTE AND UTTER DISGUST.

PETITION TO CLOSE THIS COMPANY DOWN BY WRITING TO TRADING STANDARDS - IM SURE IF ALL THE CUSTOMERS COMPLAIN THEN SOMETHING CAN BE DONE ABOUT THESE THIEVES!!!!!!!!

Bought car with on lime auctions - having had a great experience with. Comballack and Asm who are helpful and describe their cars accurately

Not the case with Motorhog at Gloucester, who don't care how the car is taken from stock. And dumped on the transporter, causing damage to the car and making restoration more complex, but also the site manager surly and dis respective, quiet day but still no time to help with loading and securing load. Happy to see you struggle.

Overall I would not use them again and would advise others not to either.
there is a better way - customers should count and they should at least try to help and look after the products being purchased.

I ordered a tank sender / pump unit off a Renault Espace, unfortunately it was altered by Renault meaning it could have been one of two versions.
Because of this I received the wrong one, I communicated with Motorhog & sent pics by email highlighting the difference between the two versions,(maybe worth considering if there is a possiblity of different options).
They checked to see if the correct one could be sourced, unfortunately it couldn't so they arranged collection of the wrong part & gave a full refund.
Even though it was the wrong part , they dealt with everything very professionally.

I ordered a Tailgate from the Doncaster Branch. At the time of ordering I asked for a silver Tailgate needed for a 2006 Astra van. They gave me the Registration of the vehicle it was coming off of (2005 Van ). I checked with Vauxhall main agents who confirmed the colour match was the same and also the central locking was the same. I had a 300 mile round trip to Rochford to collect it. I was given a totally different tailgate which was from a 1999 Astra van which does not have central locking. Rather than go home empty handed, need forced me to take what was given. Though it was Silver the shade was wrong. Also it took 3 hours to strip the wiring loom and lock and refit it to the new tailgate.
I felt I was fobbed off with old stock, rather than what was ordered and paid for in advance. Sadly this shows if you order on line they can not be trusted to deliver what your exact requirements are. The people at Rochford were not to blame because they only received the item on my behalf and after a two and a half hour journey I did not want to go home empty handed and make a second journey because the cost would have made it cheaper to by one local to me and have it painted.
I will use them again but I will be very much on my guard because I now know they can't be trusted.

Bought a car on auction from them then noticed it had an engine fault that hadnt been declaired.Failed to assure me it was insignificant and refused to allow a mechanic to scan car without it being paid for first.They have stopped my account for not paying .
This is NOT ebay and according to them you have _ _ rights the descriptions are minimal with the usual cop out phrase "viewing is reccomended".DONT BUY unless youve checked it out.. dont trust the descriptions..

A pleasure to deal with from start to finish. Within 1 working day of accepting the offer, the vehicle was collected and paid for. I was not here myself but left a relation in charge to deal with the collection.

The driver was really polite and courteous, and talked my relation through all the paperwork and procedures. Better still payment was made in cash!

I would recommend Motorhog to anybody thinking of disposing of a vehicle as it takes all the stress and hassle away.

I will definitely use Motorhog in the future but hopefully not for a while as I am hoping my new car lasts a long time!

On visit to site in Hull ordered a part, received call within 24 hours stating part was available at Doncaster. Paid for part and asked to be sent to Hull for collection, when checked found wrong part had been sent.

Stated it would be returned to Donaster and correct part sent.

Checked a week later and was told correct part had now been sent to Hull, asked if I should confirm this with Hull branch, was told 'no need as they definitely had the part'

Went to Hull, told they did not have it as they had not had a delivery that day, so it would not be in.

Luckily I rang Doncaster before leaving the Hull depot, the man I spoke to asked a member of the Hull staff to check their shelves as he had put the order on the van, they checked and within less than a minute the part was found.

Good service initially, but wasted time on phone and a wasted trip of 26 miles round trip, if I had not double checked it would have been 2 wasted journeys.

I would use them again, but a double check is needed.

put in a quote on MOTORHOG for an BRG MG ZT, for O/S front & rear doors, came back at £50 per door. Though ok that's not bad, left it approx 3 week, went and put in a quote for the same 2 items and the spoiler as I noticed it had this, then they came back at £75 per door!!! (Quote done off the same vehicle) so I rang them up and ordered the doors off the first quote as the lady wouldn't match the £50 on the same quote as the spoiler for som bizarre reason, I went and collected the items the next day, fitted on door to the car to notice it was off a rover 75 not MG ZT (different trim and non metallic BRG) so I contacted the office to be told they didn't have the doors off the MG so if have to fetch them back. Putting the items together you can clearly tell they are off colour. (Silly me for thinking people who strip these have common sense).

It seems very obvious that the reason they "don't have the MG doors in my colour are because I'm not paying £75!!!!

I'd ordered a part that turned out to belong to a later model car. When Motorhog advised that they couldn't locate the correct year (the car is VERY rare), they offered to send a refund. This duly turned up - including a returned sum for postage.

I feel confident to trust Motorhog and I'll be using their service again.

I called motorhog to make an enquiry about a part but was hold for a bit longer than I would have liked. This was promptly forgotten as the staff were very helpful and aided my enquiry. I got what I wanted delivered in a great time and I am very satisfied overall.

Recenetly bought a part from Motorhog and i was impressed with the help and speed I was given from the staff at the counter. They had what i wanted in stock in great condition at a great price. I shall be returning again!

Purchased a HPI clear non runner Audi from Motorhog and upon delivery realised the vehicle has been totally stripped of anything not bolted down.

Spare wheel,mats,battery,book pack,navigation dvd,sump,3 engine mountings,engine bracket, sway bar, timing belt cover, turbo inlet pipe, diesel injectors, injector wiring harness,engine cover,engine under tray all vacuum lines and I suspect more items are missing once I get deeper into it.

I managed to get hold of the garage who had the vehicle in for repairs and they assured me the vehicle was complete with nothing missing when it was collected by Motorhog.

Contacted Motorhog and was given the details for [Name] the Motor Salvage Manager, after several emails trying to get to an satisfactory resolution I was told I had 1 day to return vehicle (cost £260 in transportation and would cost £260 again to return) and he would only refund for the vehicle not the auction fees meaning I would essentially be £920 out of pocket due to them not describing a vehicle properly.

Motorhog has now told me they will not discuss this further and that is the end of the matter, my account has been suspended due to me being in dispute like so many others that write reviews here.

Long and short of it is Motorhog do not describe vehicles accurately and try to hide faults, they also strip vehicles for parts to stock their parts department to essentially make more money. When challenged they are not interested in communication with the outcome being a suspended account for the ripped off customer.

I hope this review stops someone from being tempted to bid on an online action from motorhog as you may well find yourself in a similar situation. If you do intend to bid please go inspect the vehicle thoroughly or you will be disappointed.

SCAMERS!!

As soon as you dare complain they will freeze your account in an attempt to withhold evidence.

The first car we brought from them was clocked by over 31,000 miles. This company has completely refused to help us establish the reason or origin of this discrepancy. They take a tough luck should have read the small print attitude and don't give a monkeys about there customers.

The second car we brought turned up with loads of bits unbolted from it costing over £500 to replace even though the bits were in the pictures when we bid. They said they need bits for other cars they were doing up in there yard and just laughed at us also saying you should have collected it yourself mate!!

motorhog tries to rely on and hide behind its shaky terms and conditions to get out of everything which they are serious mistaken will protect them. We have reported them to Doncaster Trading Standards and taken legal action in the county court to recover our losses.

They will take your money and blatantly rip you off. We have been buying salvage vehicles for over 15 years and never ever have we ever come across anything quite like this lot, SHOCKING!!!

I am sorry i bought from motorhog paid for car and delivery towice but still awaiting after 18 days still awaiting for my car.
Numers calls noone give me a answer. managers not available to speek to. i am not sure i will receive my car.

This is my 2nd car from motorhog, made good profit on 1st one. no issues, nice people, would recommend.

I have purchased 3 so called cat x cars and one cat c from Motorhog and every one had hidden serious mechanical problems. All 4 were  listed as starting  or unknown but none of them did.
Car 1
Got smashed when they loaded it. But they "forgot" to mention this.
Ran so lumpy it would not tick over or drive on the road and was eventually found to have a burnt out valve. Broken road springs, worn out suspension bushes and brakes.
This car was uneconomical to put back on the road.
Car 2
Was keyed all over every panel but this was not mentioned, again worn out suspension and brakes making it at best a break even project if it was not for the keyed paintwork which means it will never sell for a reasonable price to recoup the outlay.
LOST £500 on this car
Car 3
Been in a front end smash and headlights and front bumper just literally fell off. Damaged wheel rim, worn out suspension power steering pump and brakes. Again an uneconomical car to refurbish.
LOST £1200 on this car
Car 4 ( purchased as a so called cat c and pictured with a damaged bumper)
It turned out this car had been driven into water and hydrauliced but Motorhog claimed that they didn't know whether it started or not which was not a plausible answer in the circumstances. Many parts were missing from the engine where a previous garage had tried to diagnose the problem which were not disclosed. The car needed a new engine and hence was not an econimical repair.
Conclusions 
It is not in Motorhogs' interest to accurately describe the vehicles they sell as if you knew the problems you would probably not buy them hence they give the most basic of descriptions to absolve themselves of any blame and construct their terms and conditions to safeguard themselves from any repercussions. You will never know any of this till after it is too late. It is a generally dishonest business that avoids scrutiny by feigning ignorance of the condition of the vehicles they sell. Although they sell on a national Internet auction, their stock answer is to expect every customer to personally come and inspect the vehicles despite the fact that even if you did you could not even drive them on the road. They therefore should only be selling vehicles to bidders that have personally viewed the cars which is plainly not the case as you can see from their answers on this site they simply ask "did you view the car before you purchased it?" as if this absolves them of any liability for the junk that they sell. OTHER COMPANIES MANGE TO SELL SIMILAR SALVAGE TYPE VEHICLES WITH FULL AND PROPER DESCRIPTIONS SO WHY NOT MOTORHOG?
Conclusion
DO NOT BUY A VEHICLE FROM MOTORHOG UNLESS YOU HAVE SEEN IT YOURSELF FIRST AND HAVE STARTED IT UP, CHECKED THE PAPERWORK AND DRIVEN IT IN ALL GEARS. You have been warned...

just bought a vauxhall insignia with full leather,when i got the car,one of the rear seat backs was missing.the car looked like it had been stripped by a body shop so i expected some parts would be missing such as the door card which i had sourced on ebay before i bought the car,the rear seat back that is missing is from the undamaged side of the car and there is no reason why it should have been removed,this part is much harder to replace.in the auction description there was no mention of one of the seats being missing and the photos were taken in such a way as not to show there is a missing seat.the value of the car is about £1000 less without a leather interior.
