We are just about to buy a Minerva Ice Crystal breakfast bar section to match our existing kitchen and I came across these poor reviews.
Can't understand people having so many problems as we have had the existing Minerva worktops installed about 5 years ago and so far no issues.
Our fitter hadn't installed Minerva before but apart from the very heavy weight he found it very straightforward.
Two corner joints that you can hardly see and an inset stainless sink.
We have been reasonably careful with the surface but have no perceivable scratches or stains. Things like wine or tea stains just wipe off with a little kitchen surface cleaner. Dried in coffee is a little more difficult but can be cleaned.
Looks great after 5 years and would highly recommend.

I did the same mistake as others here as not read the reviews beforehand, unfortunately.
It marks, stains and chips easily so generally an inappropriate material for any kitchen. Dents and lines remain after just normal use. It's very heave, messy i.e. dusty during the installation process and over all not worth its price so I wouldn't bother if I could go back in time.

I fit 2 or 3 Minerva every week with great results.
90% of issues are due to bad fitting.
10% due to kitchen designers not understanding the product.
It is Acrylic based so No hot pans, Don't chop on it and Don't stand or put excessive weight on or it will crack.
It can stain but is not porous, so bleach will remove stains.
If you have a moulded sink, don't pour boiling water directly onto the bottom of the sink and run the cold tap at the same time.

I have been a fitter for over 30 years and would not recommend Minerva tops, I had to join 2 tops together which they say you wouldn’t see, what a load of rubbish, I done the joint and after sanding and finishing the tops were different colours, got hold of the manufacturer and they done nothing about it, so poor product and service.

After purchasing this for our new kitchen and then reading the reviews I was very worried. However if you look after the worktop as instructed you'll be just fine. I have placed large glass worktop savers either side of my hob and 1 by the sink in order that I'm not tempted to place hot pans directly onto the worktop. If you get a stain then gently remove with something like Jif or a hob cleaner. The top is tougher than you think. I apply the protector as instructed by my kitchen fitter and you are supplied with a rescue kit. I'm really pleased I went with Minerva, it looks fantastic.

We have Minerva Carrara worktops fitted as part of a Wickes kitchen. The designer assured us they would be robust and would not stain easily. This is not our experience. We noticed a chip on the edge of the worktop just over a month after installation and another shortly afterwards. Following a complaint, the supplier decided, without any evidence, that the damage was caused after installation and was likely to be impact damage. A chargeable repair was offered!

The worktops stain very easily and stains are very difficult to remove. If you want a worktop which is going to last and which is easy to maintain, don’t buy Minerva Carrara.

Great product, practically invisible joints. Feels like stone but without the hassle or cost. holding up well against staining

It’s pants! Bought on recommendation from the kitchen supplier who must have been on a big commission. It scratches, chips and stains easily, joints have cracked despite being fitted by a specialist. As others have said - buy an alternative!

Awful in every sense. Delivered damaged twice with huge wait times in between. Didnt even offer a replacement after the second one as they insisted it can be repaired, they told our fitter to just fit the worktop and they'd send someone to repair it after. The most backwards company we have ever had the displeasure of dealing with. Awful customer service, left an elderly customer with no useable kitchen for over 8 weeks. Ended up getting a refund on the product and going elsewhere. Save your time, money and sanity and do not use this company

If I could give this 0 stars I would do. Save yourself £2000+ and don't bother. You just have to LOOK at this worksurface for it to scratch. Also don't bother with a solid moulded sink, anything you leave that is red/orange in colour will stain even after a minute. As a kitchen designer I made the mistake of not reading reviews when I should have, but was blinded by the idea of a worksurface that looke great for a fraction of the cost. Put in in November and will probably be removed by June

If I could give it no stars I would
Disgusted it is sold through main brand diy stores, not to mention display samples are deep gloss.
The reality is this is a dull non shine worktop.
Dull finish, marks easily, totally unsuitable material for a kitchen worktop
Give it a week after fitting it will look terrible
Guide for cleaning removing scratches is time consuming, messy and results are patchy dull worktops

Please avoid it as you have to use cleaner every time you working on worktop and it stains permanently. I don’t recommended it at all. It stain even with fruit juice, tea, coffe…I spend lots of money but it is really bad.

10th March 23 update. When a company get poor reviews that company usually comes back to you. With Minerva and looking at other reviews this company does not. It shows they do not care, got your money, done. I have a lot of buffing, sanding, cif cleaning, sealing etc for next 10 years unless i come into a bit of money, if i do it will be replaced. Purchased Minereva Worktop through new build, moved in 06/05/2022. Sales pitch was very positive so paid the large amount of money extra to get away from laminated wood chip tops. It stains so so easily, if the tea bag hovers over the top it stains. Yes you can get the stains out with CIF but you are forever getting out the CIF to clean. Fruit juice, spices, tea, coffee, squash, basically if its coloured liquid it stains. You need to be careful taking items out of lower cupboards or dishwasher, the slightest knock its chipped on the edges. Scratches very easily and yes you can remove but you have to get the care kit out (you buy this). To remove the scratched area you sand, yes, sand the area to remove and it works BUT. You can see the area you have sanded which stands out like a lighthouse beacon so end up sanding the whole top to make it even. Got this top now for the next 10-15 years, a lot of sanding, a lot of CIF and a lot of kits to purchase. Actually thinking of getting it covered with 10mil Granite top. Never again would I purchase Minerva. This is a truthful review.

I had a minerva worktop fitted and it cost £1500.00.
During the frosty weather we werent home and upon returing the day after i saw a 15cm diagonal crack had appeared across the worktop, minerva wont help told us it was due to fitting even though they refused to come and inspect and the worktop is secured underneath and had nothind heavier than dity dishes on it at the side of the sink. be aware there is no aftercare or 10year guarantee as promised.

Had Minerva worktop fitted , only been a few days, have noticed it stains dreadful and Boxing Day noticed a huge stress crack on a part not even cut!! We had to pay an extra £250 to hire a courier to collect on top of our kitchen cost as Minerva couldn’t deliver till next year too! It’s literally been in a few days !! Could cry! Will get in touch with Minerva and see what they say, buts it’s Christmas so will have to wait.. anyone know what their customer services are like?

I wrote a review bout my total dissatisfaction with Minerva a few months ago after having ice white fitted & to say how appalled I am with the way it was sold to me & its total lack of functionality, not to mention very dull look. I am now trying to get the stuff removed so I can replace it with a better product. Does anyone know how to remove it? There’s no advice anywhere that I can see.

We had installed the pre fitted white sinks into out rebated Minerva worktop. The sink is an absolute nightmare to keep clean, we enjoy tea, curry and red wine and these are all a nightmare once they touch the sink as they rapidly stain it. The drainer sink is also riddled with spidery stress cracks around the plughole and there is little we can do about it despite it only being a couple of years old. My wife used an everyday limescale remover and it stained the surface of the worktop and dulled it down. I eventually had to rub down the top using the sandpaper and pad and because I couldn't get hold of the surface spray that comes with the kit I eventually used WD40 to put the shine back on it.

Stains with even the most dilute of tea spills for the tiniest of times on the surface.

It looks great as a general surface but close up it is horrendous. Simply not worth the expense unless Minerva come up with a hard coating.

We also had issue with the jointing mixture being of a different colour.

DO Not buy, we had white kitchen tops fitted a few years ago and pretty much straight away it stains easily we paid a lot more for this kitchen surface from wicks and it’s the biggest mistake we have ever made , we was sold on how great it feels like marble cool like marble but didn’t say how bad it stains unlike marble such hard work to keep it clean ,
It’s a waist of your money if I could I would stain it or change Do NOT BUY 😡

It looks great from the kitchen door, but when at the counter…. It’s a disappointment due to the smears, marks, chips and variations. It never looks perfect, however much I clean it and whatever I use. A pricey mistake unless Minerva can prove otherwise.
