MetroPCS's reception and their customer service suck and they don't honor what their agents say

When dealing with discount providers, you can say things like you get what you pay for or what do you expect at that price. But when companies screw up and all of it is documented and all calls are recorded and then don't make it right, that is wrong regardless of how much you pay. Metro PCS agent walked me through adding my new phone to my old line using on their site and she said I could use the E-sim (which I had never heard of until this phone) and when I did it, it looked like it worked, but it made it so I couldn't use my phone other than emergency calls and I couldn't fix the issue with their customer service since they couldn't send me a 6 digit code over text to confirm my account. I was in the middle of nowhere helping my mom after a triple bypass and their only solution after almost 2 hours on the phone and speaking to supervisors was to drive 3 hours round trip to a PCS store with my ID so they could verify it was me...they said all I need is my ID. So I didn't have use of my phone for a week and missed important calls. Then at the store they asked me my payment due date as a security question. I have been on auto debit and paperless statements since I started with them 7 years ago... I know my cycle date, but not my due date. I'm on the road and couldn't look up my acct online without the text verification, so I checked my credit card statement online which tells me when they charge me, but not the actual due date which was 2 days later as it turns out. Their agent said if I didn't know give the correct answer after a set number of tries they will lock my account for 72 hours. Then I get home to find out they over charged me according to the 3 prior reps I spoke to as part of getting a new phone through their new line promo. The agent who set it up told me I would get an email with terms and conditions and to be sure I read it, but I never got anything other than one email that said about activating once I got the phone... no receipt, no term and conditions. Their reception sucks, their customer service sucks...but worst of all, they don't honor what their own agents say on recorded lines. YOU REALLY DO GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR!!!!!!!

Tried rage baiting but I am too even kiltered for that.
So every time they cut mid-sentence and extended long holds,
I just kept writing more and more public reviews.
At the end of the call they just left the line holding to avoid the survey.

They won't refund me $25 or credit my…

They won't refund me $25 or credit my account for them overcharging me at a store by$25 for $40 period. They charged me $15+ in sales tax and called it an activation fee and forced one month insurance that should be provided on a device anyway for the first month. Then telling me to go get a refund of $25.67 in person at the store that scammed me

Unable to activate new phone

This is a new one and I do not see this anywhere, so it may help somebody. Ordered a new phone online from the MetroPCS website. Once it arrived I could not activate it. It said UPS did not confirm delivery even though we have the confirmation email from UPS that it was delivered and have the phone in hand. They could not activate it online. We went in person today and they still could not activate the phone even though the store worker was there as a witness. This system should have easily been remedied. It is insane you order the product from the company and they have worse service than Amazon.

Update 11/19/2025: It got worse. Now I cannot even get to the dashboard. Have tried multiple avenues. Talking to the sales department and calling 1-888-863-8768. Still no one knows what to do. I asked them to please create a ticket and escalate it to a group or person that can help. Still no luck.

Update 11/21/2025: The torment is over. It works. I guest they escalated the ticket and it reached someone that knew what to do. They sent a new sim and we called and they found a note in the account and reached out to a person that fixed it.

Still one star. That was horrible service. I will never purchase directly from the metropcs website again.

$60 a month to wait 45mins for youtune to load 5min video and i have unlimited data 5g??????? Oh and its everyday thing and youtube im running 1080 only can run 360p L company!!!!! Oh and they put u in trap to own phonw for 365 days so u cant go somewhere else bet ill buy anotger glaxay s25 ultra then idc!!!!

Horrible Customer Service-5210 Chamberlayne Road Richmond, Va 23227


I visited the Metro by T-Mobile at 5210 Chamberlayne Road Richmond Va 23227 on Friday 10/24/25 in the afternoon to exchange a defective gateway. I spoke with customer service previously regarding the device that I purchased on 9/30/25. Customer Service attempted multiple times to reset the gateway and they were unsuccessful. Customer service also and shared that I could exchange the device as I remained in my 30- day window. I also called a representative at the store of purchase and shared the same information on Thursday 10/23/25. The agent was polite and shared that I should bring the gateway to the store, but they closed at 8 pm. On Friday 10/24/25 I walked into the store and encountered a very disrespectful, unhelpful and somewhat mocking agent who attempted to bully me into making a purchase instead of a fair exchange. The agent did not attempt to access my account at any time while I was in the store. He attempted to replace the chord on the device. The device illuminated but continued to search for a signal and immediately disconnect. The agent told me I could surrender my purchased device for two weeks or purchase a new chord for $25 dollars. I questioned why I could not exchange the product. He then there would be an additional restocking fee. I asked if I could speak to a different manger and he shared he was the only manager and that this was his business. I called customer service on the phone while in store and customer service shared that I could exchange the device. Customer service requested to speak with the manger, and he refused to speak with them over the phone. The manager never accessed my account at any time. I called the police for assistance, and he told them he refused to help me at this time because I called the officer. The office asked him again if he could assist me, as I had my original receipt and original device. He told the officer he would not help me because I called the police. He then asked the officer for my name and picture so he could make all of his employees aware that I am no longer allowed to visit his store. Throughout the exchange he continued to laugh with his friend who remained in the store charging his phone and laughing as well during this exchange. He also shared he would post the exchange on Tik-Tok. I visited the store after speaking with customer service who informed me that I could exchange my product. This retailer refused to honor the 30-day exchange window, tried to up sell me additional products, would not assist me unless I made another purchase. This is deplorable business practice that ended with me receiving a trespassing notice as I attempted to exchange my device. If he had the time to laugh, joke and make fun of his customers; he also had the time to access my account and review the comments added by customer service. I received a card from the officer with the report number and was told I could access the report later that day. The manger followed the officer and I outside laughing and making jokes. At one time he went to the store next door as I spoke with the officer outside to engage in more conversation of how he would upload this event to Tik Tok. I filed a corporate complaint with metro PCS, as well as a complaint with the Better Business Bureau of Va. I shared information with every organization and union where I'm currently registered. I also know how to use Tik-Tok, Instagram, Snapchat, Facebook, Threads and Yelp. I was the only female in a store with 2 males. The manger attempted to intimidate me into making purchase. Metro by T-Mobile must do a better job ensuring that your retailers understand your business model, as well as ensure that your retailers continue to honor your warranty and exchange policies. I'm currently looking for other service options. FYI... Definition A breach of contract is a violation of any of the agreed-upon terms and conditions of a binding contract. This can include anything from failing to make a payment on time to not delivering goods or services as promised. Breaches can occur in both written and oral contracts.
This was a horrible experience for me!

Beware!!!

Since 2015 I have had my cell phone service with Metro and it has been great. I finally decided to leave Xfinity 's wi fi service which was $115.00 a month to try Metro 's. Huge mistake! It cost me $130.00 to get started, never had more than two bars on the modem screen even when it worked for a short time. Within the first few days of having the service I had to contact support multiple times and return the modem for a new one. Same result, had to contact support, complete troubleshooting on the phone with multiple agents only to have to return the second modem. Finally after continuing to have issues with the wi fi not working I decided to turn in the modem only to be told I would not receive any refund at all! I only had the service for a couple of weeks! Beware of the Internet offered at this place! I am considering ending my phone service as well and going with a different company.

I have had metro for years and yes I come across issues every now and than like any other company but this time! Is it! They gave me a promotional wifi free for the first month if I didn't like it I take it back before my bill is due I did exactly that it wasn't enough to let my family stream like we do so now they are trying to charge me for it and my phone is off! I need my phone for work and my small school aged child I'm now awaiting for my local store to open and see what can be done this is unacceptable

Don't use Metropcs

Well I am definitely upset the persons who sold me were very nice but I feel like I have been overcharged and they did not give me an expected receipt in my bag, also I was told by both that my bill would be 60 a month but immediately received a text message from them stating that it would be 74.99. Truly will stop using their service and try and get my money back as I feel I have been ripped off

METROPCS MARSAHLL TEXAS

I have been a MetroPCS since the early days at MINIMUM 15 YEARS.
My 4 year old Metro PCS phone has had multiple drops over 4 years , first hairline cracks, then on the last one the screen quit working. COULD NOT ACCESS ANYTHING. I attempt to switch to my new identical backup METROPCS phone on line, I surrendered after 1 hour of trying. I google nearest Metro Store its says Marshall Texas 30 miles from me, says it opens at 9AM. I arrive at 8:45 AM its closed door says 10:00am EVERYDAY. 9:05 not a soul in site so Google was incorrect
I walk in at 9:54 am after she arrives. Explain I want my old phone deactivated and the brand new identical METROPCS phone activated. Her response “ do you want a new number” IDK do you want to update all your bank, Social Security, medical ,personal, on and on with a new number from the one you’ve had last 15 years? Huh? I knew right then this is going south. Well she says she can’t do it because Metro requires a text be sent to the old phone, the screen is broken so you cant. So what happens if someone loses phone a text can’t be sent? can it! I’m the first broken screen or lost phone in history? Shows her level or lack of level of expertise, she is there to take monthly payments that is it. After I did 70 miles roundtrip . She calls a customer service phone number in another country that does NOT speak clear English, puts ME on the phone, I could have done that from home if my phone only worked or the online switch had worked. They want 3 questions answered, my last payment date, amount, and number of lines answered. I know that and they said it was incorrect, they locked me out of my account, they had my state issued Texas Identification I was standing right there, not online and they couldn’t verify who I am on a $30 a month, Metro $39 Samsung not a $800 Apple iPhone with $110 a month bill.
Then she tells me she CAN activate my new phone with a new number but my bill will go from $30 to $40 a month since I needed a new number, plus a onetime fee of $30. No I don’t need or want a new number I want a phone deactivate and the an identical one activated on a 15 year old account in person.
I asked when will a more experienced person be in , she said “MAYBE THE OTHER GIRL WILL BE IN this weekend” So after 15 years with Metro I surrender and sure am glad I did. Went to Cricket got a better phone free and now my internet doesn't slow to zero on week 3 like Metro. Better service , better phone, same price. STEER CLEAR OF THIS STORE AND METRO IS MY ADIVICE

I would give 0 stars if possible. I made the mistake of paying my bill (I know...why be responsible) and then tried to cancel 4 tablet lines. They spent more time trying to retain me and sell me instead of working to issue a bill credit for my current phone lines....and then told me they do not issue credit for unused paid time (even tho they were willing to issue me a bill credit if I retained my tablet lines at a lower cost). Their customer service department is horrible. If you have Gwynne, Paolo or Jayden as your customer service reps....ask for someone else.

HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE..…



I am giving this review for the MetroPCS store located on S. Military Trail - Deerfield Beach, FL). If I could give ZERO stars I would. I have been a loyal customer of MetroPCS & this store for many years. I have bought several phones here. I went there this afternoon and had a horrific experience with their manager named Bruce. This man never smiles or is kind to people, he always has a bad attitude and is arrogant. Not to mention the sexually inappropriate comments he would make about other customers. Today, out of nowhere he approached me and started to verbally attack me, humiliating me in front of other customers & employees creating a HUGE scene all becuz I sent him a text many months ago that he disliked for mentioning "God" to him. When I said I would then see the other employee for assistance, he immediately yelled out to the other young man who works there, "do not help her!" I stood there shocked and humiliated. The customers that were there with their little kids just looked at me in shock as well. He then yelled, "Get out..leave the store!" I thought he was going to get violent so I left. As I was leaving I heard him use some profanity towards me not caring children were present. I told him I would go to another MetroPCS store. I was so upset I could not believe a MANAGER of a store would behave so unprofessional and rude!! A PROFESSIONAL MGR. takes a person aside, not verbally attacks her in front of an entire store of people! A PROFESSIONAL MGR. does not kick a customer out of a store for no motive! He has ZERO manners! I have also filed a complaint with the MetroPCS corporate office. Don't go to this store & be mistreated. Don't give them your business. All they care about is selling phones & making their commissions. Clearly the owner does not care at how customers are treated here! when he hasn't bothered to reply and/or apologize! After this horrible incident, I don't even feel like staying with MetroPCS! They absolutely suck.

Was told when I switched devices that they would wave the $25 dollar charge. The next day they cut my phone off because they wanted me to pay the $25 charge that they CLAIMED to have waived. I’m so ready to switch companies.

If I could leave less then one star, I would.
Signal absolutely sucks.
Sales person lied to me to get me to sign up.
They keep sending me ads I've opted out of.
I have never had a worse phone plan.
I can't even Google.
This has nothing to do with where I am because I travel and its the same everywhere. Even when I restart and do an update.
And when I call they say its working like it is for every customer.
So my sympathy to everyone else who got suckered....
And I have the "best" plan.
A boycott is in order and I don't say that lightly.

I was a 20 year customer of Metro PCS. My phone battery died , and they refused service. Told me to go find a repair shop! No referral , nothing. I paid my bills for 20 years and got treated like a bum. Consumer cellular and Total Wireless are both cheaper. Take my advice and dump Metro PCS.
