i had visited 2 other JLR sites, Glasgow and Edinburgh, neither of them was a great experience. Glasgow being a particularly poor one.
When I visited the Dundee showroom I was greeted at the reception area on entry. Very basic ask but still a good start. My wife an myself looked at a number of F Pace on display, again a good selection. We were then approached by Ben, (Salesperson), who introduced himself. We had a brief discussion about the cars and the merits of Hybrid to Petrol. After deciding the Petrol model best suited my needs we went about sourcing a vehicle. Between Ben and his sales manager they were able to secure the car I required with the spec I requested. The car was available and collected in exactly 14 days. Ben and the staff kept me informed throughout the whole process. I would not hesitate in recommending the dealership to any friends/family.

I was persuaded to buy a car from the showroom for a quick delivery but was not informed or aware that there was a revised and updated model going on display next. I was not offered any discount on the car and eventually settled for a very average trade in price for my old car. They insisted I should take the car that month although I had not arranged my finances. It was necessary to take out a finance agreement which I paid off within a week. I feel that everything was done by the salesmen to meet their targets with no real accommodation for the customer.

Where to begin. Bought the car from JLR in Dundee sun Oct 22, first issue, they debited my bank account with approx £16k as they hadn’t completed the return of my previous car correctly. Fast forward to July this year, new car went in for a windscreen replacement. They did a health check and identified an oil leak (which I have since discovered was present in Oct 22, when I first purchased the vehicle) Oil leak ‘repair’ was carried out. Car started shuddering violently, all kinds of warning lights were on, car was labouring and couldn’t pick up speed. I was on a motorway at the time, I was a total hazard on the road. Garage picked up the car, ‘repaired it’ and returned it. They had the car from 7th Aug - 23rd Aug, got it back and it lasted one day. The lights were back on, the car was now making crunching noises while driving. Car went back in and was just returned on Monday this week (18th Sept). The garage have advised the issues were due to a ‘repair’ not carried out correctly on the vehicle. So, I haven’t had my car for 6 weeks, it has had a number of ‘repairs’ on it due to the garages incompetence. It had the oil leak and a door issue when it was sold to me, not divulged at point of sale. , coincidently the same issues I’m having with it now. The garage initially referred me to customer services, customer services referred me to the garage, both referred me to Land Rover Assist, absolute shocking service considering they caused the fault. Offered a years extended warranty as a ‘goodwill gesture’, complaint is now with the Motoring Ombudsman, honestly worst service I have ever experienced. The retailer and Customer Services kept telling me “It’s a good looking car” unfortunately looks alone doesn’t get me to work. If you want a lack of transparency, deflection and lack of accountability, this is the garage to deal with. Good luck, you’re going to need it.
