Stay away from Shared Ownership
As a single parent I purchased a shared ownership property as a way to help me onto the property ladder. Due to financial difficulties, I am needing to sell. I accepted an offer on the property in January and due to issues caused by Heylo solicitors ie, not registering the property at land registry and missing legal information on documents have 8 months later been unable to complete on the sale.
These issues have been highlighted to the relevant parties and neither have taken responsibility to fix them.
I feel this is the hidden catch with shared ownership, you are unable to sell when need to.
What should be a simple sale has caused nothing but stress, anxiety and financial difficulties.
This sale has gone on now since January and has therefore put me further into financial difficulties.
I feel Heylo are preventing me from being able to sell the property and are not prepared to fix the issues they have caused.
I appreciate the response however these issues are still ongoing and have not be resolved. Penningtons where the acting solicitors when I purchased the property and caused numerous issues. These issues have came to light now that I am trying to sell the property. Penningtons have been notified of the issues and have not been forth coming in resolving them. They are not prepared to take responsibility or meet my solicitor in the middle to get this resolved.
Yes this has been handed over to the manager, however he is leaving the company today and no one senior has taken over.
This is going to cause a total chain collapse and leave me and my children with nowhere to live.
The stress this is causing has made me ill, and having a huge detrimental effect on my physical and mental health.

Ewa Skrzynska is brilliant
Ewa Skrzynska is a credit and massive asset to a otherwise poor company. She is totally wasted at heylo as she's different class.
Short story heylo kindly bought our new house "before we did" and added over £11,000 to the asking price. Barretts knew nothing about it apparently "nothing to see" attitude. We only found out when we came to sell the house. Back to the star 🌟 anyway Ewa Skrzynska is super helpful, super efficient and superb at communications. Thank you Ewa for everything 🙏 ❤️

So Far So Good!
We purchased a shared ownership property with Heylo and having heard horror stories of the process from others I was pretty apprehensive. Thankfully we found the process to be relatively straightforward- a few forms but not too much time was taken up with them, and everything dealt with efficiently via email.

Part of our role as a mortgage broker is ensuring our clients have a great customer journey. When our clients buy a Shared Ownership property a further tier of involvement is added in that of the Shared Scheme requirements and processes. I regularly work with Ewan Keenan at Heylo (Home Reach) and must commend him on his attitude and the level of service he affords our clients. Nothing is ever too much trouble and you can always be assured of a speedy response. Buying a home can be quite stressful, working with Ewan makes things run smoothly and efficiently and helps eliminate some of those stresses.

We are currently looking at buying a resale property with heylo and this lovely lady has made the process so much less stressful. She has been super helpful and supportive throughout the last week. We struggled to get anywhere with the selling estate agent and Megan has come to the rescue. She explained the process, the documents needed and what extra bits we may need due to our unique situation at the moment and with one swift email, all has been submitted in one go rather than lots of toing and froing. With her help we are now going through the checks process and we hope soon to be approved to start the moving process.

I enquired about a house with Heylo home reach, the share I could buy wasn’t as high as Heylo wanted and I was turned down, I decided not to give up on the house it was a massive battle but I had a real need to be in the area and Rachel understood was very helpful and helped to make it all happen!
