The software is neat and relatively easy to use, great interface.
What I absolutely do not like is the fact there is no free “only read” version. I was glad to pay for the full version which allows me to make tabs for my students, but I realize after buying it that unless the student buys the full software, I can’t even share it with them.
So I went back using TEFedit PRO which has a free version TEFview to read my files…
I’m a private teacher.

Needless to say, this software has revolutioned an entire field of musical knowledge. There's no way Guitar Pro's importance can be underestimated. There's only one issue at the moment: PLEASE include a full, realistic, flexible pick slide sound sample. It's mandatory. I mean it. Pick slides are an integral part of a thousand guitar arrangements and it is really important to have a proper one on Guitar Pro. Do NOT postpone this enhancement. Please. Other than this, I love everything about GP.

Been using GP since GP3 and found it really helpful when teaching students. The upgrade to 8 was seamless and worthwhile. Also used it to arrange parts, print them out and distribute to the various players. Overall a great product.

Logiciel intuitif et idéal pour éditer des partitions pour exercices, ainsi que pour la composition.

Used 7 for the tabs. But with 8 I can manipulate songs within the tool. Great buy and very useful.

I use it during practice. It helps my rhythm a lot. I'm the type to forget where I am in a piece (the repeats, etc.) and this makes it simple.

It's easy to add my own fingerings so I remember them.

Good application to write down a melody with notes.
It is required to know about notes, rithm and tonality, but it worth to do it. I was really glad witth the recent interface improvement (from v7 to v8), but I think it would be better if instrument sounds become more realistic.

I work with compositions, arrangements and music production. For me, Guitar Pro is essential for creating a blueprint of the songs before producing them, its improvements are welcome, however, I saw some aspects that could be corrected in the future.
First, when placing an Audio Track in the file, if you want to change the tempo of the music throughout the file, only the tempo initially entered remains.
Secondly, I don't know if this happens because I'm working with GP7 files, but there were times when I tried to change the tempo of the song and I couldn't, it stayed at the original tempo.
Despite these obstacles, I created a new file, copied, pasted and continued my work.

I give a 4 star bc I might be missing something about setup. I continually have to fool with settings. I wish the levels of sound and tones were all in one place and would stay consistent as I load different gp files

I love the new features, scale charts, micro movement on notes, and new voices. The only thing I wish there was, but isn’t, is a way to notate chord tones instead of fingering on a chord diagram (ex. R b3 b7 9, etc.) you get the idea

Excellent logiciel. Parfait pour ce que je fais.

1. Download from the internet, quality guitar TABS of songs I wish to learn & play.
2. Learning new songs by ear, and recording the notes -as the song unfolds. I then edit for future improvements in the score & use in practice sessions.

There are many features yet to be learnt - I'm so looking forward to the journey of learning & using them.

je trouve ce gpro 8 tres cher pour les avancées peu envidente si telecharge pas les partitions payantes.Je regrete un peu mon achats.

Ich finde, Guitar Pro 8 ist wesentlich flexibler als Guitar Pro 6 und stellt somit eine gute Weiterentwicklung dar.

Ich konnte ein Lizenzupgrade kaufen statt einer neuen Lizenz. Ich finde das Preismodell wirklich super.

The output is ugly compared to other notation software and there's no way to tie into a 2nd ending.

Great tool to work any guitar style tab and learn how to play it. It would be nice to add in future upgrades, an option where the user could input the notes in the scores and then have the equivalent tab and even change it, to any other string, just like musescore.

Débutant, guitare pro me sert, pour l'instant à retranscrire mes tablatures. Cela me donne une bonne base pour jouer correctement et déchiffrer les tablatures, un deuxième prof en sorte....

I find the site very useful. The learning process is ongoing and my tutor recommended I try it.
