Great that the train starts in Sunderland. Staff very friendly and helpful. Had a few issues with cancelled trains which grand central never offer an alternative for but are quite happy to help out other train companies when they have an issue. For me it’s more convenience that I book with grand central but if LNER or another train company were available from Sunderland I would pay that bit extra to use them.

Our recent journey from york was very pleasant, very quiet, not like our journey out to york which was so noisy due to young people drinking.

As always it is a joy to travel with Grand Central. Staff are amazing and helpful. Little delay but nothing significant. Looking forward to the new trains!!

Excellent service friendly customer service

Absolute nightmare of a customer service team.

The train breaks down, resulting in us getting to our destination late. Obviously we tried to claim back some money; what a nightmare .

You fill in the form and hear nothing. Contacted customer service; they can’t see anything linked to your email address and put a new claim in. So put the claim in… Oh, guess what … rejected due to multiple claims… obviously disputed this. Contacted customer services again and said, Yes, it looks like there’s a BACS payment pending. Still to this date I have received no refund.

I've never had a bad journey on Grand Central. Compared with other companies it is pretty good value for money, the customer service is excellent and the on-board staff are lovely.

Managed to get tickets at good price and train arrived and departed on time
.Only negatives very little choice from buffet ( only one type of coffee) ,no USB charger and no WiFi on return trip .

Travelling with GC is always a pleasure.
I book tickets in advance so get really good prices for my London trips.
Easy to book, tickets come straight to my phone and on the day of travel I get live updates of my journey.
The trains are always clean with helpful friendly staff.
Wouldn't travel with anyone else.

So many things that make this a great option for a journey from the NE to Kings Cross. Direct train, reliable service, local station pick up, easy to book, value for money, comfortable journey, great staff!

On time, very quick journey York to London direct. Good value for money. Friendly service on the train and spacious seats.

Travelling to Thirsk at York major signalling failure staff had no information how long delay would be my niece who was waiting to pick me up at Thirsk rang Grand Central information for advice NONE GIVEN only all trains delayed sat on train in York for 40mins then got off as others did as niece had to drive all the way to York to collect me. When I filled form for delayed train was informed trains have to be delayed more than one hour. With no information being given very difficult to decide when to make alternative arrangements or sit and wait which by the way they were talking could have been hours. Not a good start to my weekend away but not surprised

Both trains were on time, seats reserved and the lady serving in the buffet was very friendly and helpful.
Both journeys were relaxing in comfortable seats along with announcements as we approached the stations.
A very enjoyable journey.

Professional, punctual, comfortable service,

I travelled first class. There was no soap in the toilets and after asking, I was told it would be replaced, but it was not. No included food or drink in first. We had to ask for our complimentary water to be dished out. The lady did very kindly lend me her own bottle opener for me to to open my own bottle. Was approx 7 mins late (halving the time available to change trains). I only booked by accident and next time if I repeat I’ll bring food and drink, a bottle opener, and hand santizer, even in first class.

The ticket in advance was cheap, The app was good, The train down was on time. The train back was 40 minutes late, but due to another train ahead breaking down. The driver made up with extra speed. Staff were excellent, The seats could do with a re-upholstering.
