Absolute scam, avoid
Absolute scam! I tried to claim back because of closed ski area as their policy clearly states it is coveted. First, you are sent to a gatekeeper company in Greece for first assessment, where their job is to say no by all means. They do not reply, send repetitive request for documents and wait for you to get fed up. I even called this Greek partner handling claims and was astonished as it really sounded like a very small business, whereby "the colleague was out for lunch". They even tried to scam me by PARTIALLY quoting their T&C...oh, well, I read it myself and quoted back. Then a repeat of "submit your documents" restarts. In other words, you never get to contact and communicate with Globe link, just the "make claims disappear ' Greek company.
Long story short, I gave up. I am blessed that I did not suffer a medical emergency, wrongfully assuming I have reputable coverage.
Of course buying the insurance is super easy. Why should it not be given that you get ditched if ever you try to claim according to your contract. Smart business model.

It was Impossible to renew my insurance. Your customer service was also very unhelpful. Instead of actually guiding me in how to solve the problem I just got the same link sent over and over again, despite me indicating the problem was still there, despite the new links sent.

Claimed and the Cover is good!
You only really discover how good your insurance is when you have to make a claim. Having had Globelink Travel Insurance for years with no claims, on a recent trip abroad my wife's phone was stolen. In less than 2 weeks the claim was processed with a very fair outcome. I'm impressed and will stay a client going forward.

Unfair and dishonest
- Buy that travel insurance for my Luxembourg resident girlfriend.
- She breaks her leg skiing in France, requiring immediate hospitalisation.
- We claim cover for hotel and return flight costs lost in the name of trip curtailment.
- They say that trip curtailment is only if you return home.
- Insuree could not return home immediately BECAUSE SHE WAS IN THE HOSPITAL. She subsequently did as soon as she was discharged.
- They refuse to recognise curtailment because she did not return home immediately. These bad people refuse to honour their obligation.
Such an approach de facto excludes coverage if you have an incident requiring hospitalisation.
It shows you the level of bad faith, and dishonesty vis-a-vis the essence and spirit of the contract.
Was the first time buying cover. Will never touch this entity ever again.

We're genuinely sorry to hear about your girlfriend’s injury and the challenges you both faced, especially while travelling abroad. Situations like this are incredibly stressful, and we completely understand how disappointing it must feel to have a claim declined during such a difficult time.
We’d like to clarify that, in line with the terms of the policy and standard insurance practice, “Curtailment / Curtail / Curtailed means either: abandoning or cutting short the trip by direct early return to your home area.” Unfortunately, curtailment does not apply if the insured person remains abroad, even in the case of a hospitalisation.
That said, we were pleased to confirm coverage for your unused ski pack and the hospital confinement benefit, both of which fall within the policy terms. However, as the trip was not cut short by a direct early return home, curtailment cover was not applicable in this instance.
We regret that Globelink does not have claims handling authority, as this lies with the insurer's claims service via HWA. All claim assessments and decisions are made directly by the insurer, in strict accordance with the policy wording. Your case was referred to them and reviewed carefully before the outcome was confirmed, but we suggest you query this decision with HWA and ask for insurers to review your case and make a final decision. You then, if they refuse to change, have the right to follow the complaints procedure in your policy and have your case reviewed by an independent Ombudsman ( please see the complaints procedure in your policy).
Due to privacy regulations, we can’t share full claim details in a public forum, but if you would like us to review anything further, please feel free to contact us at globelink@globelink.eu, quoting your policy number.

Took out Globelink insurance for a trip to Thailand not thinking I would need it but on the last day I became ill and was admitted to Bangkok Hospital, I had sepsis and needed my gallbladder removed.
We contacted Globelink and spoke to a dr on the end of the phone who immediately emailed the hospital to authorise the operation. Globelink took care of everything even reimbursing us for our new flights.
Couldn't thank them enough, absolutely brilliant.

Policy renewal
quick and easy renewal, this is one of the few insurers that will allow you to dismiss pre- existing medical conditions if you are sure that they will not present a problem during your holiday.
