A simple and quick way of disposing of a rusty car and giving something to charity. All went to plan and took a task off my hands.

Good communication from "Giveacar" and from the actual appointed scrap yard who collected my vehicle.
Good emailed instructions detailing what and when to do it.
And received a phone call from the collector when he was on his way.
My only complaint, the paperwork side.
The person and the appointed scrap yard who collected the vehicle didn't want to fill in the logbook (the section when selling to car dealer/vehicle dismantlers). However, I did advise the DVLA myself, as I would not trust the scrap yard to do it. You do hear stories of cars getting fines and the previous owners being contacted. This area of the experience needs addressing.
Otherwise everything totally satisfactory!

Did what it said on the tin. An email and a brief phone call were all that was needed to set the process in motion. The car was picked up at a convenient time, with the driver giving me an hour's notice. Ten weeks later I had confirmation of the value of my donation (which was more than I had expected). A week later I had a thank you from my charity.

Whilst searching on the web I came across link to donate a car to your favourite charity, who knew.

Help the Hero's was my option and made contacted with them.

Amazed at the consultation regarding donating my car, followed instructions and completed the donation on date decided for collection.

Car collected really early on the date set, thereafter to auction, donation sent to Help the Hero's.

The whole process was very easy. Good communication and clear instruction as to what I needed to do.

The Giveacar service worked perfectly. It was easy to arrange the details of the disposal of the car with them. The (separate) company that collected the car came on time and took it off my hands without incident. They had to jump start my car to get it to their flatbed truck. My chosen charity have confirmed they have received the donation. I had used Giveacar before, about 10 years ago, with equal success

The car wasn't safely driveable, so they came and took it away - and when the first van they sent was too large to get to my village they sent a second one a couple of days later.

Everything taken care of efficiently and without hassle.

Swift, friendly and straightforward. Went through without a hitch.

I was very disappointed to learn that my charity only received £160 from a vehicle which raised several £100's at auction.
Given to understand that a minimum of £240 would be donated but dependant upon the final sale value, could well be more.
I was offered £500 as scrap, should have taken it and made the donation personally.

Giveacar responded immediately; arranged to take the car away as requested and gave email feedback of progress.

The whole experience was carried out with ease. It was sad to see my motorbike go, only due to the ULEZ expansion and age of bike. But using that loss to benefit others took the sting out of it.
