I purchased a designer bag in October 2025, and around nine months later I checked the authentication certificate, only to find that it had been marked as invalid.

After contacting the authentication provider, I was told that they don’t deal with end customers and that, because their business relationship with the seller had ended, my certificate was no longer valid.

As an end customer, I find this completely unacceptable. The certificate was part of the purchase and should not lose its validity simply because the authentication company and the seller are no longer working together. Customers have no control over those business relationships and should not be the ones affected.

This business practice seriously undermines trust in the value of their certificates. If a certificate can be invalidated months after purchase for reasons unrelated to the authenticity of the item itself, then what confidence can customers have in it?

My advice: don’t rely solely on one of these certificates for long-term peace of mind, as it may not remain valid through no fault of your own.

The process of an item’s authentication it goes very smoothly. Instructions are very specific and received my results very quickly. The information provided about the item was helpful with lots of details like comparable on how much the item it’s selling for in other platforms or websites. App is user friendly. As a seller it’s so convenient. Great customer service experience too

We’ve authenticated over a few thousand bags with them over the last few years. Recently with their software upgrade, they are abandoning their microscopic lens and rely on only phone lens. We have a lot of issues with this new upgrade - a lot of retakes and eventually they mark the scan as invalid and you have to start again.

Bags we personally bought from Chanel are now either mark as invalid or unidentified?! They become less responsive than before as well.

Our operations is getting quite disrupted now and not sure how we can resolve it. The old device has its limitations but it has been working fine overall.
