Great support but it takes a long time to adopt
We adopted a dog from Dog's Trust Darlington. The facilities and staff are superb. Follow up support has been excellent too. But trying to find the right dog has been a long and difficult process with several wasted trips, so be prepared for disappointment s and to have to be patient.

Visited”just to have a look”! Of course we found an ideal new family member whilst we were there. The rest, as they say is history.
Staff were very accommodating and allowed us some extra time on our first meet as we are not local to Evesham. Second meet and one to one arranged for two days later. That went well, full details and advice given.
Picked her up a week later!
Highly recommend Dogs Trust Evesham, the staff go over and above to make sure the dogs wellbeing is the priority and that you the adopter have all the information about the dogs with access to additional advice and guidance if needed.

We've just adopted our second Dogs…
We've just adopted our second Dogs Trust dog. We've had an overwhelmingly positive experience at Basildon and Shoreham Dogs Trust Centres. The most noticeable and reassuring thing about the process is how much the staff care for the dogs. All the meetings are based around how the dog feels about it. They were so accommodating of our other dog as well and facilitating multiple meets so they could get to know each other before we brought them home together. The followup care and the way they set us up with behavioural and medical support is amazing. We would recommend Dogs Trust to everyone thinking of adopting.

Two dogs from Dog's Trust in Shrewsbury
We got two dogs from Dog's Trust in Shrewsbury. They turned out to be the sweetest pair we could have had. A Cavalier King Charles and a Cocker Spaniel. Everything was dealt with well and we can't recommend them enough.

We had an fantastic experience rehoming our new ex-racing greyhound from Dogs Trust Harefield.
Sam, his handler was incredibly helpful throughout the process and we really appreciated his knowledge, advice and insights into our new dog.
Catherine, who carried out our home survey was also friendly and extremely helpful.
We genuinely couldn’t fault the whole process. Everyone we dealt with was supportive, knowledgeable and clearly passionate about finding the right home for each dog.
We’re happy to have welcomed our new greyhound into our family and can’t wait to enjoy many happy years together. Thank you to everyone at Dogs Trust Harefield! 🐾

The Dogs Trust were extremely helpful when we adopted our new dog. They helped us find the right dog and supported us in helping him adapt to his new home. They also stayed in touch and offer ongoing support as and when needed, and before the adoption were very responsive to queries and helpful in getting our household read for the dog.

Pleasant people. Efficient system. Understanding of adopters needs as well as dogs. Informative and knowledgeable. Having adopted before I know they have effective aftercare if needed. Continued interest in care of dog even after it has left the centre.

We have adopted the sweetest little dog with the help of Glasgow Dogs Trust. Helena helped us get to know Yodel when he was very anxious. He has settled in so well and has changed our lives in a very good way.

Dogs Trust Basildon
We visited Basildon centre to enquire after some dogs up for adoption at the beginning of August. We then arranged to go back the following day to meet Lottie as she was being looked after in foster. When we met her she was lovely and we chose to adopt her. We collected her 4 days later. The centre and staff were all extremely helpful and informative. Lottie has settled in straight away with our family. Dogs trust called 2 days to check that everything was going well and we were all happy. Highly recommend Dogs Trust and so pleased we adopted Lottie.

Excellent and thorough from start to finish
The Dogs trust were excellent from application all the way through to adoption, and again after adoption. Very thorough on the phone to ensure that they and I were clear about the type of dog I wanted, matched me with one very quickly, arranged an initial visit and were very informative at all times. Once I decided that I wanted to proceed with the adoption of Willow they provided me with the full vets report, the Dogs Trust’s own behavioural assessment/report, warts and all, along with details of vaccinations etc. in order for me to make an informed decision. A second visit was arranged to check compatibility again and to make sure that I was sure she was the right dog for me and that me and my daughters were the right family for her. At all times I felt that they were completely honest and up front, listened to what I wanted, kept me informed about the good, bad and ugly about the dog, made sure I understood everything and answered any questions I and my daughters had and made the process very easy and smooth. They also follow up a couple of days after adoption to check in and see how it’s going and how the dog is settling in to see if any further advice or support is required. Absolutely brilliant! And I now have a beautiful dog who has fitted right into my life and family and both my daughters and I are absolutely smitten with her (as she also appears to be with us!) and are very happy. Willow now has a forever home! Thank you Dogs Trust.
I highly recommend the Dogs Trust, especially when there are so many incredible dogs who just need someone to give them a second chance. If you’re thinking of adopting, reach out to the Dogs Trust.

Really lovely experience
Staff were lovely! We adopted our dog not too long ago. Kennels were clean and tidy, staff were really great at explaining how it all worked. You get provided with enough dog food to last a week along with a collar and lead. The whole adoption process was explained perfectly and the man that took us to meet our pup for the first time was really lovely. Would 100% recommend dogstrust to anyone looking to adopt a dog.
