I had an amazing night last night! I met some great people and I can’t wait for my matches. Would definitely recommend! Couldn’t ask for a better host, Helen looked after me all night and made me feel so comfortable. If you haven’t already, get yourself there!

Trust Pilot are defending bad businesses and wont allow free speech. They have forced me to edit, so I'll stick to the facts.
I booked a month in advance, revolution de cuba, 8pm. I arrived there and the event was not present, security and bar staff informed me it was the following day.
It turns out Helen who is very bad at her job and has a disgusting attitude towards customers had changed the venue.
She sent a reminder text less than four hours before the event that did not communicate a change of venue. Just see you at "down stairs castros hood st".
Which as far as i know is that same cuban themed restaurant. No postcode specified I had no reason to believe this was a different location.
Basically Helen randomly changed venue, with no consent or information. Breaking Ditch or Dates policy of at least a days notice.
To further this appalling service she posted personal information online. I have complained to the GDPR and this shows just how bad the attitude Helen W has.
Don't waste your time going to this Joke of a company. Its just one woman who doesn't even follow her own policies and randomly changes venues.
Incredibly she expects you to be nice despite treating her customers poorly and breaking her own policies and also the law.

It is a shame you issed the event but this was not our fault which I did try to explain to you but your emails were not only extremely abusive but very aggressive too.
The new venue for the event was changed on our website a month ago and the people who had booked had all been informed of this change including you which you confirmed receiving.
You were sent a reminder today for tonight’s event. You acknowledged the reminder but failed to read the address properly which is not our fault. The language you used in emails to me was appalling and aggressive which has been reported - our event ran as planned tonight with 17 couples. We didn’t randomly change venues or breach contract.
I have chosen to show an example of the email I received from this gentleman who initially accused me of informing him of the wrong night - then when realises hed made an error accuses me of sending him to the wrong venue.
Not nice at all.

Your full refund was made from Barclaycard 3 days ago as we received notification of this. As I had explained to you in previous emails we do not process bookings or refunds it is all done through the secured payment gateway of Barclaycard so we had to request it through them which they have since done. I notice you have attended an event with us before so you must have been happy to then return and book another. As I explained we have to move our event to the 6th as our host's father died very suddenly so she was unable to host. This was a big shock to us all and hence the postponed date. I did become a little defensive as your emails included inappropriate language which as I did appreciate your disappointment at the date being moved - however the langauge and tone used was unfortunately uncalled for.
I have emailed proof of your refund to you and have also reported this review to Trustpilot as it is inaccurate.
Registered for Newcastle's July event…
Registered for Newcastle's July event with two friends. One friend got a cancellation text the night before. Myself and other friend, didn't get anything. I emailed Helen to discuss, sent LinkedIn message, left voicemails and tried landline number... no answer or response. No apology, no message, no refund. Not recommended.

Thank you for your review. We had to postpone the event as we were still unsure about how we would run safely regarding Covid so moved the event to next month to give us time to then see how then venue is operating regarding spacing etc.
We were not able to text you as when you booked you only booked with your email address, you left the phone number field empty. Your friend entered her mobile number.
We don't have a landline or a LinkedIn account so wouldn't be able to respond via this.
We did send an email to you , I have checked our emails too and there had been none from your email address that you booked with?
When you booked you booked via the Barclaycard gateway not our direct website. They handle all refunds - not us.
They have been contacted re your refund. It may be taking longer due to the current situation but they are very good at processing payments and refunds.
We did move everyone onto next month's event at no charge as stated in our message.
Can you confirm if you'd like to attend or would you like to be removed as we didn't hear back from you either way.

Great night, so nice to actually meet people and speak in person. I would highly recommend, much better than the apps!

Avoid at all costs
Avoid at all costs, Cancelled event with less notice than there T&C's state, refused a refund. They also faked results from the event i was meant to attend. I got 3 matches from an event that didn't happen!
There now claim that the lockdown was in place, it wasn't all bars where still open at the time of the event. Don't trust these thieves or lier's! They will steal your money! They claim the government told them to cancel which is not the case as the venue was still in full operation on the date off the event

Thank you for your email John but as previously explained in many email correspondances with you we couldn't run the event that you wanted to attend due to the Corona virus pandemic, all of our events have been temporarily cancelled and no bars / restaurants are open in Belfast - it isn't safe to go outdoors let alone mix face to face. We have offered you another place and have followed our terms and conditions which you ticked to agreeing to prior to booking. I did email you a copy of these to show you that we were following company policy. I also asked you to email me a copy of your 'match report' that you claimed you had but you then said it had deleted?

Highly Recommend.
Myself and two friends attended this event and it was honestly one of the best nights ever. I thoroughly enjoyed getting to know different people and talking to them.
Helen was a great host, super helpful and just made the whole experience so easy. The event ran so smoothly and the process was easy to follow. She was always there to offer help, moral support and answer any questions I had.
Helen definitely eased any nerves I was feeling at the start of the night and her speed dating definitely boosted my confidence to get back out there and talk to people.
I would highly recommend!

Great host and fantastic evening!
I had a fantastic night meeting lots of people I wouldn't have had the opportunity to otherwise. The host was so friendly and reassuring as I was a bit nervous when I arrived. She was always on hand and checked in with us when appropriate to make sure everyone was enjoying themselves and did a great job to create a relaxed atmosphere. Very well organised and I would recommend!

I booked this event in liverpool for…
I booked this event in liverpool for 20th November 2019 with a friend and the events cancelled.
I have been emailing for weeks now and still no refund. Not even getting replies to the emails now.
Not happy at all would NEVER recommend
Edit to say the booking was for sarah & jess
Ditch or date did eventually refund money but only on the condition that I remove this review.
I recieved my refund 4 months after the event was cancelled.
I would still NEVER recommend.

Thank you for your review, however our Liverpool speed dating event took place in Neighbourhood bar on the 27th November.
I have checked our attendee list for that event and there was no one listed/ booked called John nor have we received any emails regarding any refund for a Liverpool event in November?
This is a shame that this review has been left as we didn't have an event on the 20th in Liverpool or anyone listed under the name of John ?
We have since reported this false review to Trustpilot as you clearly didn't attend or book an event with us.

Had a great time at this event. The host was really friendly and all the other people seemed nice too. Would definitely recommend if you want to get out and meet new people! Makes dating apps seem like a massive waste of time, and has definitely changed my perspectives.

The hostess couldn't have done anymore. It was me and my 2 friends first time and we wanted to sit together for support and we was so nervous. The hostess did loads of reorganization. Very accomodating. It was a very enjoyable night and a fab way to meet new people.
Everyone was so lovely. You get a drink break in the middle aswell.
I am going on a second date at the weekend with someone I met at the last event. And my friend is going on her first date with someone she met at the event.
Definitely give ditch or date a try! You never know who you may meet! 😁

Seems to be a common denominator here...Helen...I have sent 3 emails and haven’t had a reply to any of them. So if that isn’t rude I’m not sure what is. Seems Helen is happy to take our money. Belfast only 20/11/19 was a total disaster. 4 men and 8 woman turned up in the end.

I have checked my email, our Ditch or Date email along with the attendee list from Wednesday's speed dating event and there is noone listed on the event as Carol and no emails from anyone with the name or email address including Carol. I've also asked the rest of the Ditch or Date team and they haven't received any correspondance from a Carol either ?
Our speed dating event last week had unfortunately a lot of men and women who didn't show without any pre warning. We always sell out with every age group in Belfast - not sure if there was a lot of illness but noone rang or emailed to say that they couldn't attend. There were 18 couples booked on.
We have emailed everyone and trasferred them over to our next event for the 38-50 age group.
