Clogged up with AI rubbish, promotes selling such things for money.

It has lost the fun charm it had when I was younger. The stash is useful and community events can be fun for prompts but that's about it.

Antes hace 15 años. Usa D.a para practicar ediciones en photoshop con la categoría, manipulación fotográfica. y otras cosas random. Pero ahora es terrible su comunidad. ES muy toxica! lleno de pseudos artistas. que se arden por cualquier cosa. como su ridículo odio a la IA ¡Irracional!, una simple herramienta, cuando muchos generadores de IA como el de bing o gemini. son perfectamente legales, estos usuarios son infantiles muy serius bisnes. Antes no era así pero ahora pero se lleno de gente inmadura y toxica. ¡Y muy ardida!...

I have been on this site for 10+ years and I am SHOCKED how a once beloved site has become such an unrecognizable mess.
This site doesn't care about its users anymore. I've submitted multiple tickets in regards to missing comments in a reply thread over the years (4 years to be exact. Since Eclipse) and all are met with generic responses. I've even suggested possible solutions but they seem to be ignored. I've asked for a manager as well, in which case they 'mysteriously' stop responding.
I have YEARS worth of roleplays I can't view due to their broken comment section. They don't care. Avoid this site, any sense of community that was once there has been destroyed.

Whoever runs the site now should be ashamed.

The price of core and pro memberships is extremely over priced! If you decide to pay a reduced fee (something they do to lure you) and try it out they will automatically take the full price out of your bank account a year later with no warning!
This happened to me and I lost over a couple of hundred dollars and left me with no money in my account to live on or to pay bills.
This makes this site very untrustworthy in my view.
Vulnerable people such as the intellectually disabled will be easily taken advantage of and exploited by their auto renew subscription scheme.
There is potential for it to be a great site and the best thing about it are that there are many good, kind, well mannered artists on it encouraging and supporting each other totally, however sadly there are many shady people on it too.
There are frequent scammers scamming and too little seems to be done about this, especially in the way of warning users (Deviants).
There is also a whole lot of pornographic and often very sickening images and the site seems to turn a blind eye to this.
When you have a problem with billing or refunds that you wish to discus, your emails are ignored which speaks loudly about how much they value the users of their site.
Their regular challenges are good, but they do focus on “adoptables” a little too much for my liking.
The various badges and awards that they give are a good idea and it encourages artists to keep trying at doing art in order to collect them.
Being highlighted as an artist or having your art highlighted in any way by deviant art seems to be a hard feat to do, and I notice that a lot of times they will repeatedly favour the same artists.
Currently they are encouraging the use of AI, even though it is not real art and is opposed by the vast majority of artists on their site.
I feel if they really valued and supported artists and real art then they would not be encouraging the use of AI or using AI programs.
There are many sites and social networks that you can use for free to promote or sell your art, so Deviant Art needs to greatly lower the costs of their memberships and improve the site so that it is worth using it for the fees they charge.
The site also focuses mostly on “adoptables” which are simple quickly made cartoon styled characters, and the sales of these “adoptables” and focuses least on real art that has taken a whole lot of care, time and work to achieve.
Deviant art needs to improve their priorities and value their users/real artists far more than they currently do, or they are falsely advertising themselves as a social “Art” site and misleading people.
I do sincerely hope they manage to improve their site in the future as I hear often how good this site was years ago.

It used to be a free website for everyone weather it had fetish art or not, but know it has gotten to strict with it's policies. Espescially when it comes to art centered around fictional children; if a child's inflated and it's not sexual at all and mostly for the cartoon gag, DA will delete it thinking it's child sexual harrassment even if said child is fictional, if the artist does not have a sexual appeal to inflated children, or if said child is from official media or owned by an individual creator and was inflated one or several times before.
I understand the safety of children, but it's not physically doing anything to anyone in real life.
Besides, DeviantArt wasn't made for children in mind in the first place, it was made for people 15 and up.

I joined back in early 2000s due to illness I was inactive for few years, I logged back in a few days ago and here are my observations.
1: its full of potentially illegal porn or underage anime girls and illegal Ai porn including beastie and furies. there are people who upload deep fakes of celebrities also
2:the DA forums are full of trolls and cyber bullies. when I returned the first thing I was greeted by was some creepy artist : Bartales that posts nothing but creepy images of children.
3:when you report images of minors DA staff ask you for proof as in they want you to prove that the artists uploaded minors before they will do anything which is wrong on so many levels.

Avoid like the plague unless you are rolf harriss and if thats the case you are sick.

DA staff literally scam and steal people's money I was one of the victims

they would steal your cards, private information, anything to make a dime then ban you, they love stealing your information and refuse to say anything, its utterly a scummy and illegal tactic they've been doing for years, and I'm surprised no one has filed a lawsuit against the site and company behind it.

So Deviant art has been giving me more of a reason to hate it.
I had gotten core pro plus for one whole year in august, and in October I paid to extend which it says on the plan selection.
I extended the plan and instead of giving me a month extension, it overwrote my year membership and I lost my spent money on it and now have a monthly plan.... until I found out when I cancelled my monthly plan!

IDK how this is even allowed or legal when it specifically shows extend! It's literally not that hard to just have it as switch for existing year members! Extend sounds like what it should do, not cancel your year membership that you paid for!!
THEY WON'T REFUND ME!! This is sooo stupid because there was NO disclaimer!! Everywhere else has a proper extension!
UPDATE:
They will suspend me if I don't take down my works that supposedly has characters under 18 and THEY ARE not under 18!!, I have the proof too and they are too dumb to acknowledge it!
I make NSFW content and I follow the rules and when I dispute with proof they decline it!
Now when they told me to take down works I asked them what to remove even though I don't need to, THEY WON'T TELL ME!!
ALSO i HAVE TRIED TO REPORT USERS/IMAGES AS AS WELL AND IT SHOWS THEY ALREADY REVIEWED IT WHEN CLEARLY THE WORKS ARE NOT ALLOWED!!

Vers la fin des années 2010, ce réseau était plutôt bien.
Depuis le début des années 2020, Deviantart est devenu rapidement un réseau de propagande pour la "fierté" (sur DA, c'est le mois de la "fierté" 12 fois par an...) le wokisme, le LGBTisme, la pédophilie légalisée, le transexualisme, l'apologie de l'avortement, bref... la gauchiasserie la plus crasse.

Aujourd'hui, on y voit beaucoup d'"artistes IA", de photos porno gay, des "furys", des images de perversions diverses et variées.

De plus, DeviantArt pratique une censure très sournoise si vous avez le malheur de protester contre toute cette m***.
J'ai eu droit à tout:
-Bannissements en séries,
-Trucages de mes compteurs d'abonnés (je perdais des abonnés au moment où j'en gagnais, cherchez l'erreur...),
-Shadow Ban
-Déréférencement de mes illustrations (qui étaient devenues invisibles même pour ceux qui les cherchaient),
-Usage de faux comptes "chaussettes" pour vous provoquer et vous pousser à la faute idéologique (pour que vous ayez des propos "intolérables" qui pourraient justifier un bannissement définitif) et finalement...
-Bannissement et effacement immédiat et intégrale de tout mon travail depuis 6 ans...(les commentaires et les posts aussi!)

Ne négociez jamais avec les fanatiques Wokes car ils vous tueraient sans hésiter s'ils le pouvaient.

Overall thought was a good place to post art, but terrible customer service, I upgraded to core membership to change my user name but kept getting an error, I contacted them about 5 times and no reply so I cancelled the subscription and went else where. I think it’s ran by a bot.

They support Israel and the genocide of innocent Palestinians.
They also gladly give a platform to AI "art" thiefs.
The site just overall lost all originality and personality it had in the 2010's, where you could personalize your own page as an attempt to oversimplify everything and look like ArtStation. You suck.

What a terrible company. You need to take the work art out of your name. Since you started to embrace AI art, you're lost the respect of most of the users.

DeviantArt is no longer a good program for artists to share their creativity. Their policies allow pedophilia and gore content but yet they ban anyone who labels their artwork carefully for older audiences and can't tell the difference between Photoshop and fiction. The app is filled with double standards and the website is no longer a positive environment. Either change the name of the app or shut the whole thing down.

Despite the name, Deviantart is not an art website. It's a pic-dump flooded with images stolen from other websites, AI generated pictures, spam, fetish content and even child pornography. The images you see as a visitor are hand picked and do not represent the content shown to you once you sign up and log in. There is no system in place to battle any illegal content, with just a hand full of staff members relying entirely on the users to report illegal content, while reporting illegal content is made as difficult as possible and in many cases is only possible if one's own copyrights are being violated. To make things worse, there are close to no consequences for people who violate DA's own rules as reports/complaints are ignored on a regular basis.
Apart from that, every gallery on the website is AI controlled, meaning users have little to no control over the images they are shown by the system. DeviantArt's own AI image generator called "Dreamup", which is being advertized as an "ethical" AI, was trained with literally millions of pieces of art used without consent of the artists, which is why "DA" has been sued by a group of artists.

I spoke with a guy named Daniel he refused to process a perfectly sound dmca claim. I had to contact an attorney to make this Californian Moron do his most basic job.

My profile got deactivated, without previous warning, for "copyright infringment", while i doubt gifs, memes and re-works in general can be called that. There are hundreds of accounts with pretty much the same content, some even re-post straightforward copyrighted images from Disney and such, and i never did that. What's worse is that i had a Core membership active, i paid for it and now i lost my money too. Please also note i wasn't even selling my art as many others do, so there was no profit. I just had a regular, fairly popular account that got deleted for whatever reason. And i suspect this has more to do with some "moderators" striking accounts they don't like or cutting you down in order to boost other "friendly" pages. All in all it doesn't seem to be a serious site, deleting years of work and the space i paid to store it all, in a drop of the hat. Not how you treat customers, whatever your reasons may be, at least they should send a warning if they have a problem with your content. What they did instead is STEALING (my space, my art and my membership money).

PS. Who are these moderators anyway? In a serious business, operators must be held accountable and easy to identify for both the customer and the employer. I don't like this sort of "divine power" where someone can erase your account anonimously and without further explaination. Great site for art with top notch tools to customize your space, too bad the business department is amateurish at best (also their subscription page has the usual trap system to make you choose more expensive options).
