The New Dawn climbing rose from a few years back, which I planted in my community garden plot on the fence 4-5 years ago, has been spectacular from the get- go. It was the highlight of the whole garden when we were included in the annual city garden tour.

To preface, I adore David Austin Roses and have used their site exclusively to purchase several roses over the last few years. The orders have always arrived promptly and the plants have been healthy and continued to flourish.
Unfortunately, this year I did not have the same experience when I purchased a few bare root roses. I was notified that my order shipped in early April, but it is now May and I still have not received my order. I reached out to customer service over a week ago, and still have not received a response to my initial email or follow ups. I feel disappointed as I know bare root season is over for my growing zone so there is no chance of replacing the plants that are likely damaged or dead.

Update: Customer service was able to identify the issue with the carrier and resolve it immediately. I truly appreciated their prompt attention and felt heard by their team.

I appreciate the beauty of the products. The bare root roses arrive healthy and almost ready for planting. Just need a good soak. The company provides instructions. Really like these roses. So many varieties.

There is no way to communicate with their costumer service other than email, I have received 2 incomplete order without previous notification. They made changes to my order without my approval, I have been getting roses canceled for 3 years in a row and the same variety. Don’t matter the time or date my order is placed they start with warmer zones and by the time they work their way to the colder zones we are lucky to get half of our orders, I always order within minutes after the sale starts and I still can’t get one complete order. Their costumer service is for the most not willing to work with you and the tone of conversation don’t work via email because everything pretty much feels like they don’t care. I had to cancel any orders I have left because incomplete order and their costumer service doesn’t exist.

Bought three barefoot roses last year all three didn’t look too good but I plant them according to the way it supposed to be done Soak plant , dig hole, fill hole w water, spread roots and cover with good soil. Only one gave me couple of leaves the other ones just died. This is not my first rodeo I have appx 100 lots of them from different growers unfortunately this was my first experience with David Austin. I did call customer service they requested pic which I did send but never heard back. Thankfully the one left I’ve nurse it back to life and is now showing signs of survival. I’m very disappointed because I heard so much about your roses and your great reviews maybe I just got a bad lot. My disappointment is that your customer service was of no help. I guess I will not purchase from you again

Did not ship me the rose I ordered. Sent me a different rose in a color I can’t use. Poor communication when I wrote to ask about the order. I contacted you via the web form and email and waited two weeks to hear back about my order.

Healthy roses barefoot

Ordered several bare roots. They were shipped on time for planting in my zone. I needed to change the shipping address for one order, communication by email was within 24 hours and included a written explanation of the process.

My shipment was delayed for over a weekend, however the bareroot was in perfect condition. The stocks were a lovely shade of green and there were leaves starting to pop out. I have purchased several David Austin roses and all have been in the same great condition. They all make a beautiful garden and smell wonderful, too.

David Austin Roses never disappoint. Price point and performance is excellent!

HEALTHY ROSES, ALWAYS
I always order from David Austin, when I need English Roses and Every Year they have never failed me. All the roses I have got from them are about to bloom and covered with buds now and growing absolutely well. This year I got a healthy Red Eden (climber) and have already planted. I gave 4 stars because I could not plan my planting time until I heard from them, when they were ready to send it. That was little inconvenient this year.

As always the roses arrived very much alive and well. Unboxing them makes me smile.

David Austin is the best - rose delivered on time and in good shape as usual.

Since leaving two messages asking for information about my bare root delivery last week-it is currently snowing-I have received innumerable ads and this survey from you---but no response from any "rose expert" as advertised. I suggest you stick to making your gorgeous roses and have a competent partner sell and provide customer service.

Very disappointed with the quality of my French Lace roses. The canes are brown with dead centers (pith). I tried calling but got a recording saying you're not taking phone calls. I sent an email yesterday with photos and have yet to receive a reply. I will never order from David Austin again. The expense of soil and the time and toil digging and planting was wasted.
