I have used this website for years to import things from Japan! The price is good, you have good options for shipping method and I seem to only get hit with import taxes if it is something larger (such as a scale figure, when I order clothing it doesn't get hit~)

terrible customer service, havent shipped my items for 3 years due to COVID SAL shipping being down but are unwilling to combine my orders for EMS shipping

I've only ordered from CDJapan once now, but I will absolutely return to order more. The process of buying is smooth, and the shipping was quick and very much within the estimated shipping time of the product. The product was packaged well and was in an appropriately sized box for the item (a CD)
The product arrived in perfect condition, and I am very pleased with my purchase.
Overall, I believe the website to be a very good option to purchase CDs and other items from, and as an overseas customer, it was definitely a very international buyer-friendly site. It was easy to track my order from the page, and I also enjoy the fact that with their wide array of items to purchase, they also offer a built-in proxy service which seems very helpful.

I placed an order with them for a blue-ray box set.
They quoted a 1-2 day shipping at a specific shipping rate.

However, after THREE days of not getting any kind of shipping confirmation, I sent them an email to ask about the shipping delay.

I received an email from them on the 4th day informing me that the shipping rate had increased significantly. They needed my approval before they could ship the item.

As of the fifth day, they still have NOT shipped my oder in spite of their claim of shipping in1-2 days.

As a result of the shipping delay and increased shipping rate, I consider this to be dishonest and rather annoying outcome. I'll never order from them again in the future.

The package was good, too. I ordered a book and it's sealed in plastic, a bubbles thingie and some papers (gonna reuse them for sure!). Totally a good experience!

I've pre-ordered a CD one year (!) ago. At the shipping method I've choosen was available. A month and a half after the released date (so, 2 months my preorder), and only because I contacted them, they told me that the shipping method was not available for my country because of delays and that if I wanted my CD I needed to pay the double of what I paid at first. It's been one year ago, the shipping method is still available and I've never gotten neither my CD nor my money back. They didn't even propose a discount or anything. Don't ever order on this website, you might never get what you want.

I`ve often ordered from this store before and it was my favorite one. However, for the past two years, CDJapan has looked like a scam to me. I pre-ordered item that was in stock. As soon as the payment is made, you wait a week to find out that the item is out of stock. After a month of waiting, the order is simply canceled and the money will not be returned to you. This situation had placed last year, and it happens again. The money will be returned to you with points that you can spend on an item you don’t need or on something you want, but maybe next year. However, be sure you will not receive your order in the next year too.

Ordered 1 month ago 2 cds via proxy... After 3 weeks they email me saying will take another 3 to 4 weeks... Fine... Ok... On the 4th week as in today..they email to tell me they cant send items via the shipping method i chose!!? I mean you having a laugh!?? ... So after 1 month they tell me this while also holding my money and item!!?? So they say they wont send unless i pay double the postage and literally double what the items are actually worth... Thanns cdjapan for that...never again.... Now to get my money back through my bank... Scammers

I discovered this store last year, at first I didn't believe the prices, in my country allot of this stuff is overpriced and I asked myself where is the catch? But there is no catch, the prices are great and you can find a lot of items that youI wouldn't find elsewhere. The items are carefully packaged and everything arrives in excellent condition. They give you reward points with every purchase and also give out reward points to loyal customers. The proxy shopping for sold out items worked out great for hard to find items.

Excellent service from CDJapan quick dispatch and receiving of items that are packaged very well, have and would always use for the unique Japan only releases. Recommended.

The customer service is great, I purchased 2 products from them and one of them arrived broken. After reporting the issue, they quickly helped out with my issue.

Great place to buy CDs. They have a wide variety especially hifi formats. The purchase process is fast, and the products always arrive very well packaged. And they answer quickly to any query from their customers.

CDjapan has loads of choice, the prices are great and they package it very securely when they ship it.

I've been a customer for over a year now. I like the variety and have bought various stuffs from books, mangas, cds, stationary, etc. I love that they give out reward points to loyal customers and they packed items really well. They also have proxy shipping for sold out items on the site which worked out great for hard to find items. Overall it's a great experience.
