Wiped my hands of CDR now.
Gosh. I used to love CDR. I have well over 100 dresses and well over 200 leggings. Not to mention joggers, skirts, flares, shorts, dungarees.
Customer service is pretty lacking. They still operate out of Facebook, which is ridiculous for such a large scale business. I ordered 3 skirts about a year or so ago, all size 1s. They arrived and the labels said size 2! When I questioned it, I was told they were labelled wrong and they were size 2. This was a LIE. I can't wear them because of how big they are, but by the time I actually wore them, it was too late to do anything about. So they got away with sending me the wrong size and keeping my money. Horrific.
Sizing is RIDICULOUS. They say they cater to the "smaller sizes", but they don't. The size 1s? They supposedly fit 8/14uk. A size 8 CANNOT look good in something a size 14 can wear! I know people that are a size 18/20 and wear the size 1s!! Clearly, they do not care about the smaller sizes. They should just advertise as a plus size business with the potential for a smaller person to fit with a tight belt. But that's what happens when you get clothes made in a little shop in China.
They tease things that people REALY want and then never deliver and wonder why people get annoyed, but will bring out loads of new releases. Tara teased a load of amazing flares almost 4 months ago, no communication. When one poor woman put a comment about it a few weeks ago, Tara was very rude with her response and yet still gave NO update. Hilarious. Yet we keep seeing brand new releases. Not professional at all.
I have now moved to other HANDMADE businesses that size accordingly, are actually handmade by themselves in their UK shop. Amazing quality, amazing sizing and AMAZING customer service. Kiddin Around have many dress options to choose from and you can have personal alterations. It's amazing. Alice+Harry is also amazing for bottoms. I have now wiped my hands of CDR, which is so sad after 5+ years of buying and many thousands of pounds spent. It's no longer worth it.
Overall positive experience
I have left a review before but wanted to give an update on my experience.
In the last year since I started purchasing from the company, I have seen positive changes. The shipping times is a major one. Before, I was sometimes waiting up to 5-6 weeks to receive items (not on preorder). The average now is about a week.
Communication has improved (with room for further improvement). I have seen Tara try to be more visible on the group. Natalie is very active on the Miss Society group so there is a better experience than before. What I feel could be improved is details around launches on CDR. I have noticed some items have been shown but not materialised, or others stated they are arriving on x date or launch on y, but that date comes and goes. Even an update to say sorry, it'll be delayed until further notice would be beneficial. Personally, I am not too bothered by the delays, but I empathise with the frustrations of others, especially those who may have vouchers to spend.
I haven't attended a live in a long time due to my work schedule, but also frustrations with some "customers". I definitely felt there was someone who would be quite crude and overwhelming in the chat (who, coincidentally, would also buy items across all sizes to immediately list for 3x the cost on Vinted). I have blocked these individuals as I found they just made the live experience frustrating. I appreciate nothing can be done if products are sold on external sites, but admin do also have the power to ban accordingly. No issue with people selling on if they changed their mind at the price they paid.
I will admit the Facebook groups and the changes have been confusing. I feel Tara would benefit from running a poll to see what customers would prefer and going ahead with that. Again, I don't personally care about two websites and two sets of postage, but others do. There has been muddied waters with similar prints being sold across both websites so some clarity on what CDR and Miss Society actually stock would be helpful. In my mind, CDR being vintage would be 50s style dresses like other brands sell with vintage patterns. Miss Society would then be everything that is currently sold (including the stretchy dresses in all styles).
I've always found staff and admins to be friendly and cannot criticise interactions I have had. However, I feel there is a lot of negativity on the Facebook group and its that that has made me visit less. I understand complaints with orders and not getting timely responses, but I feel there are a lot of people in the group who obviously aren't happy with the brand (and haven't been for a long time) and chastise the company at every given opportunity. I believe in voting with your feet and if you feel that strongly, leave. Again, there was one particular member of the group who was just unpleasant to admin and other members so I blocked them as well. I don't understand why you would continue to engage with the brand if you haven't bought in so long.
I love the dresses and a lot of the prints. Personally I welcome the changes coming in designs as I feel it did get very Disney centric for a while. That's okay for a certain crowd, but it would be nice to see more "grown up" designs for everyday wear - I don't mean this rudely either. I don't mind Disney and anime, but a more eclectic mix of patterns would be lovely. I see more requests have been put out so hopefully we see some more variety.
I can't beat CDR on their dresses and leggings. I do shop with other brands who provide similar items, but sometimes the sizing is off or there isn't the same designs available. I've got a good wardrobe from CDR and would continue to purchase from them.
My only other recommendation, bar communication improvement, would be fewer releases and more availability across the sizes. New designs fly out and a week later there's new ones. It is difficult to keep up and is becoming a costly venture. Having one monthly release would be more manageable as a customer. Size 2s and 3s fly off the shelves so more stock in those sizes would be great. I know there's been backlash regarding small 1s, but in the time I've been buying, there hasn't been the demand for them. I don't advocate scrapping the size entirely, but definitely revising numbers based on the popular sizes. There has been mentions of updating the websites to filter sizes and in stock/our of stock. I agree that would be useful for all. I am also sure there could be some sort of way to make the postage costs dynamic based on the weight, rather than a flat fee. I didn't know about the item limits in a parcel up until fairly recently - this was not clear. I have seen it be advertised in the groups now, but this really needs to be on the website too.
I hope this comes across as a fair review. I think there's still room to improve and provide a better service to customers.
great products, please take CC on board
I have been a customer for about 5 years. i love the fit of the teadresses and therefore most of my wardrobe is CDR. i only buy the horror/spooky prints as the cartoonish ones just arent my bag but they get some awesome prints. downside is echoing what others have said, the customer service isnt great, and it hasnt been since i discovered the brand, a few times we have been told changes are being made but nothing changes. the website is awful, i feel like they could sell so much more if they upgraded it a little. i would also wait until items come in to advertise them as people get so annoyed asking the same questions and getting no answers.
this isnt a hate post, i love the brand but im hoping with reading some of the construtive criticisms then the brand can do even better and keep customers on board as there are a few similar brands in the UK.
Excellent all round
I've been buying this clothing range for several years. The service, fit, quality and delivery are always excellent. I love the active fit leggings, Rizzo dresses, unique prints and the pockets

I’ve been buying dresses regularly from CDR for about 3 years now. I have never felt comfortable wearing dresses before I found this company. I love the ‘Peggy’ style which is a flat waisted full skirt dress. I find them so comfortable and very flattering. I’ve just come back from 4 days in Berlin and wore them for the journey and whilst i was there too- just soo comfortable! They have some unusual designs and a wide variety of them to suit different tastes.
There is an online community who are very supportive and who share their love of the clothes.
Tara, who runs the company, listens to what her customers want.
I love the diversity of these dresses
I love the diversity of these dresses, yes sometimes there are frustrations around what is being sold. But these are minor issues and only a small part of the bigger picture which is selling unusual items you can’t get off the high street especially if you are a larger lady like myself
This company used to be one of my go to...
This company used to be one of my go to's for alternative, comfy leggings and dresses but the last 6 months they've become far less customer based.
The owners take no accountability for when stock is running late, if stock is put on the site together when they said it would be or the fact they use two different sites often meaning customers cannot order all items together (and get charged two lots of postage).
I often buy stuff at full price as the discount codes they offer normally don't work and there's a sense of urgency to get the prints you want... then within hours (after everyone has paid full price) they finally offer a discount code that actually works once they know everyone has already ordered.
I really do love the comfort of their products and they often do prints I don't see elsewhere so it's really tough to decide if I feel happy to order from here anymore or if I'd be better off hunting out a similar small business.
You often get the die hard fans/posters on the group belittling customers who have genuine complaints/concerns and just branding them "haters" when in reality it's just customers wanting answers and help.
Recently a post was put on the Facebook group trying to justify the poor customer experience due to health problems and guilt people into writing positive posts on here (so anticipate an influx of them dated 17th March).
If you predominantly run a business through a Facebook page you have to be prepared for good and bad comments. Communication via other means such as email is ignored and you're told to message the Facebook group, which only works if all customers use Facebook messenger (I don't).
Overall if things were more streamlined, consistent and communication was more open I'd probably continue buying but for now I'll put my wallet on pause to see if things improve.
As a company they either need to take on more staff to help with queries or not churn out as much stock and focus on getting the basics right. I'd much rather a smaller selection of prints/designs/styles if it means the customer service was up to scratch!
I absolutely adore this company
I absolutely adore this company. I have made so many orders with them and love their products. You can tell when speaking with any of the CDR staff that they are passionate about their products and the community that has developed. They are constantly bringing out new designs which is exciting. They offer good sales and offers. Whenever there has been an issue with my order on a rare occasion they have been quick to rectify this. Recommend highly.
I absolutely love Carolina Dress Room…
I absolutely love Carolina Dress Room clothes- they make up 90% of my wardrobe. The designs are so me, yet unique, and the fabrics are buttery soft. The Lindy dress design is my favourite, followed by the Rizzo. I must have at least 70 pairs of their leggings too! I dont know what I would wear without them!!
Carolina dress room review
I have been buying from Carolina Dress Room for a lot of years and have always found their clothes to be of an excellent standard. On the very few times I have had an issue I have found Tara and her team to be very helpful and everything has always been dealt with promptly and efficiently. I have been using cdr for a long time and my last delivery was Saturday 15th March 2025
I’ve been buying CDR goodies for years
I’ve been buying CDR goodies for years, I found them just before lockdown. Every item has been outstanding quality and no issues with orders being received. The community group is always lovely too and helped to connect to others when lockdown hit. Tara and the team really do care about their customers and will take on board any ideas for prints (even after a few cheeky drinks on a Friday night!) I can’t recommend them enough!
I love CDR Clothes
I love CDR Clothes. I love the brand and the people who run the Company are brilliant.
Stopped Making Small Sizes With No Heads Up To Customers
I have besn a customer since 2023 and have spent thousands since then. I have well over 400 items of CDR - leggings, flares, Joggers, skirts, shorts, all styles of dresses. I have found admin on CDR to be quite rude a few times, but mainly nice.
Unfortunately, I feel like she doesn't actually read the feedback given when asking her customers a question. She gives out teasers for new items, but then doesn't give a date, doesn't give any information on them and doesn't respond to any comments. When she DOES give a release/dispatch date, it's very rarely on time and doesn't inform anyone that it's late. For example:
The most recent order is something we've been waiting over a month for, it said end of Feb, they actually went up on 7th March. No information was given as to why it was a week late, no apology etc and no response to the comments asking. Another major kick in the teeth for this order, is that once again she made NO smaller size for the ladies that aren't large in proportions. There was no indication on any of her posts that let us smaller ladies know that there would be no small sizes. So we've been left to wait over a month for an order that a lot of us were very excited to buy, only to find out we can't buy any. I only found out because I went to buy FIVE of the dresses there was no "Small 1' size.
A LOT of people have no complained about their not being small 1 sizes in the dresses. The next morning she explained about her losing money on the small 1s because she orders too many in that size (obviously not our fault) and she's left with too much on the shelves. I don't think she quite understands that it isn't the size that's unpopular, it's the designs. Not everyone has the same style, so people wont buy something that they don't like. If she just did a pre order for small 1s, she wouldn't have to lose stock. But now it seems she going to completely cut off an entire size bracket of around size 6-14. The dresses she sells are ridiculous on the size brackets, a size 1 is advertised as 8-14uk sizes, yet a size 18/20 can't fit into the dresses nicely. Something that fits an 18, CANNOT fit and look nice on a size 8. I'm a 10/12 and the size 1s look disgusting on me. Even the Small 1s are roomy.
Fortunately for me, I have found a very nice handmade business that make ALL of their orders to order, and you can order ANY print in her folders (over 1000s prints) and you pick the style of dress you want and the actual size of it. Luckily for me, she also has LOTR prints and many many others. So I will now be moving over there, despite there being a 4-6 week turnaround on order. I'd rather wait 6 weeks and get what I actually ordered/want and be happy. Especially since CDR tease things and then never actually release them. Last year, kids dresses were teased and we were told they were coming. Did they? No. I asked multiple times, they never came. I bought leggings and a dress in specific prints for me, and then I was buying the matching for my daughter- they never came. No apology, no explanation. It was ridiculous. I'd rather go somewhere that caters to all sizes and not just one size bracket that makes them feel good. I'd rather go somewhere that listens to their customers, responds to their customers and doesn't say one thing and then do another. Which is such a shame, given how much I've spent on CDR.
Rude,poor quality & vindictive
Rude & obnoxious admin on the Facebook page. The owner never responds to questions, admin ban anybody who cares to feel annoyed at receiving the wrong size, item &/or damaged stock IF & WHEN it it eventually arrives. It says it all that they don't use paypal due to the amount of returns for shoddy items.
The same admin give glowing reports on here to blow smoke up Tara the owners butt.
Great value dresses, designs lacking…
I’m a bit torn over this company now, because of their recent designs. Almost every single one is based on a children’s cartoon, garish colours and small busy designs. If they started doing more ladylike adult designs, muted colours and larger patterns, I think they would be on to a winner!
I’ve been looking at competitors dresses, but their second hand ones all seem to be bobbled. This isn’t a problem I’ve encountered with my CDR dresses.
I’m living in hope that the designs will change soon..🤞🏻
Please get with the times!
Still running their business off a Facebook page and still no changes to their shonky website that's difficult to navigate and lacks a filter
Makes finding stuff and news about new releases very frustrating. Think I'm going to give up on this brand as they do not listen to feedback!
Bought a load of items before Christmas…i
Bought a load of items before Christmas on buy two get one half price with the assurance there won’t be any more sales for a while.
Fast forward to today, I still don’t have my order yet the dresses I am waiting for are all being offered up at half price.
Probably my last order. And I know I am not alone.
Comments tuned off as usual once people start asking questions about back orders.
Great products but …
I love the products, which is the only reason I’ve been going back. However I think I’ve just placed my last order as I can no longer get over how awful the communication is. I’m in the Facebook group and there is so much confusion over when items are going live or what discount codes are available and when. You tag the owner, who is an admin of the collect and she never replies. I’ve missed out on so many items I wanted because there’s just no clear communication.
Can't make up their minds!
On the facebook group it's announced that new items will be on the website at 6pm on Friday. You sit and wait and then a couple of hours after the supposed drop time there is a post from the owner - look out for these new items tomorrow! Wait, what? You said today?
Just shoddy business practices.
Fun product but shoddy customer experience
I’ve been blocked from all their groups because I told the owner they needed to stop making excuses for poor customer service.
I’ve spent £000’s and honestly the customer service is awful. If you are so ill then shut up shop or pass the mantle on love - it’s not our fault!
Last used them this summer - date is estimate not accurate.
