Brought my 2nd car from them and they were absolutely lovely people customer service spot on would highly recommend thanks again CAR CITY !!!

Purchased a car from Car City UK on 26th July. While the buying process felt smooth at first, the after-sales experience has been frustrating and disappointing.

Shortly after collection, a few issues became evident (including a boost leak and worn rear differential bushing, among others), which prompted me to pay for a third-party inspection. I returned the car on 31st July for these to be resolved. Although the team was helpful over the phone and assured me everything would be fixed, as of 15th August, I’ve had no clear communication from Steve (who was supposed to follow up) or confirmation that the car is ready for collection.

I also requested a refund for the £599 warranty, which wasn’t properly explained at the time of sale and is not suitable for the car. Despite several follow-ups, no formal confirmation has been given.

It’s a shame — I genuinely liked the car and hoped for a good experience. But the lack of communication, poor after-sales support, and absence of written accountability have seriously damaged my confidence in this dealership.

I recently purchased a car from Car City in Catterick and felt compelled to write this review because the service I received from Daniel was nothing short of exceptional.

As an autistic man in my sixties, I often find the car-buying process overwhelming and sometimes even daunting. But Daniel changed all that. He wasn’t just trying to sell me a car – he genuinely took the time to understand my needs, answer my questions with patience and clarity, and guide me through every step without pressure.

What stood out most was how much he focused on supporting me rather than selling to me. From explaining how to get the best out of my new vehicle, to offering advice on practical aspects of ownership I hadn’t even thought of, Daniel went above and beyond in every way.

The car itself is fantastic, but the experience I had with Daniel made the whole process smooth, respectful, and even enjoyable – which I never thought I’d say about buying a car!

I can’t recommend Car City – and Daniel in particular – highly enough. If you’re looking for honest, thoughtful service and a team that really cares, this is the place to go.

Bought a car from them in dec 23. Full mot on it no advisories. Minimal use over the year when it went for mot dec 24 failed spectacularly costing over £900 with things that would not have just gone in a year.. know someone else who bought from here . Same issue no advisories on mot but failed when put in for next time costing £1500. Beware !!!

The lack or response and communication is awful. Bought a car from them last October, I thought at the time that the sales process was wonderful and fast but if I think about it now, they just wanted to get rid of the problem car. I have had endless issues with it and I sent it back twice to them to sort but I keep getting the car back with the issue still not sorted, but they are quick to replace parts and use my warranty for it. I am highly disappointed in this. I am having to pay to have the issue sorted at another dealer now.

Well I have to say WOW what an experience I dealt with Trevor he was amazing very friendly and talked me through everything I took my teenage son who took an interest in the Lamborghini they have it’s his favourite car a tad out my price range but Trevor let him have a sit in it whilst I took his photo it made my so sons day I did drive away with my lovely Hyundai I’m more than thrilled with before looking anywhere else PLEASE give this place a first look so many choices and all staff so friendly you won’t be disappointed I will definitely deal with them in the future from Anne Marie a very happy customer xx

Disappointing Service and Lack of Communication

I purchased a car from this company in February, and while test-driving it, the trim around the gear selector broke. I immediately brought this to their attention, and they confirmed in writing that it would be repaired. However, once they discovered the cost of the replacement—over £900 due to the entire unit needing replacement—they began to stall.

I gave them a month to source the part and got back in contact as agreed. Emails then became vague, and I didn’t hear anything for another two weeks, so I escalated the issue by raising a complaint with the finance company. Conveniently, after the finance company stepped in, the part was suddenly available, and they requested a quote for the repair.

I promptly obtained a quote from my local garage and sent it to them at 9:18 AM. Despite my efforts to follow up, including leaving a voicemail after a phone call went unanswered, there has been no acknowledgment or response. Even the finance company, despite chasing, hasn’t been able to get any contact from them since March 24th.

This experience has been incredibly frustrating, and their lack of communication and accountability is unacceptable. I cannot recommend this company based on my experience.

Trevor sold me a lovely a class, top bloke and really easy to deal with looked after me well and would definitely recommend.

Just recently bought my second car from these guys. And 5 star service once again, especially Trevor, dealt with him on both occasions and always had an easy transaction and he has always gone that extra mile to give you the best service. Will be back again in a few more years for my next one. Would highly recommend using these guys, all are top class 👍

To be honest bought a amazing car from them, they where very helpful with eveything up until the car was mine. After you recive your car you better hope and pray nothing goes wrong because the delership will be no help at all, first thing was the warrenty was covered on the incorrect reg and i have messaged and called with the promise it would be corrected and they also failed to give me details on the cars service overall just be careful and do your checks on the car becuase if anything goes wrong they will be no help.

Bought a car from these people and everything went smoothly at first until 1 day after bringing the car home I discovered car had only 2 weeks MOT left to run and had not been serviced as promised. Contacted them and they were full of apologies and arranged to have the car picked up at my place of work. Well it’s been 7 days now and despite them insisting that a driver was on his way nobody turned up and my phone calls have not been returned. I have had to pay for a MOT myself as it ran out a few days ago and also a service on top of that setting me back close to £300. I would look elsewhere if anyone is thinking about buying a car from here and if you have check your MOT status on your vehicle just to be sure they have done it. Only positive thing is car seems to be ok and I’m very pleased with it.

I went to Car City looking to purchase my first car. Very intimidating process at a young age as some places can be difficult regarding money. I spoke to Moh, sales person, and he was very helpful when asking what my preferences were and my budget. I needed a reliable car as I was commuting from University and back so was looking for quite low mileage. He sat with me and discussed about the options they had and suggested what was best for me. Very helpful throughout the process and highly recommend!

Well, where do I start! I write this on the back of one of the most pleasant business experiences in over 50 years!! First of all my daughter bought her new car from a chap called Christos of whom I was recommended too after a flawless sales process.
I got in touch with him and arranged a viewing of a car.
Upon meeting him, I was instantly warmed to him with his lovely smile and warming persona.
He showed me the car I was considering for my wife and I and after a test drive we came to a deal.
The rest of the process was easy and effortless and we had a laugh along the way. I went away for a capachoochoo and came back 3 hours later after they had redetailed my new Jaguar to near showroom standard. Can’t thank him enough. Such a great guy ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I have bought 2 cars from this company in the last 2 years!!! I am so impressed that I will never buy from anywhere else at all, had my first car 2 years and when I phoned to ask for advise they helped me fix it for a fraction of what the bmw main dealers would charge me, I now have bought my second car from them.
