Good quality windows and doors
I recently had 2 doors and 3 windows fitted by Ben and Sam at Caddy Windows. The doors and windows are great quality and were well fitted. Ben and Sam were polite, conscientious and tidy. A few little issues were dealt with quickly and I was very happy with the work.

Great Caddy
A genuine window company who I could trust. Took time to ensure my new composite door and arched frame were exactly how I wanted them. Price reasonable too. We have a new door!
The fitter Scott came on time and began work straight away. He put down a protective sheet, fitted the new door - making sure any gaps were properly filled - and cleaned everything up really well when he had finished. He explained clearly to us how the new door worked and locked and gave us the new keys.
We were very impressed with his skills and attitude. We would be happy to recommend both him and Caddy Windows.

From first contact with Caddy everything has been brilliant, I phoned, the next day Greg and new recruit Joe came measured up, without the “ special offer “”price rise due” or “phone the manager “ CRAP they listened to what we wanted gave us some good advice and a sensible price compared to other companies.

Composite Front Door
Quick to come up with the design that was wanted and obliging to changes once the proposed design was assessed in situ. Discount for full payment up front. Installation delayed by manufacturing, but the colour and design chosen always hinted at taking longer than planned. Final installation quick and straightforward. Very pleased with the service and overall final product. Certainly planning to contract Caddy Windows for some future works.

We experienced a number of issues...
I feel this company very much reflects “you get what you pay for”. While they were a cheaper option, we experienced a number of issues throughout the process.
This location says I am based in US but I am travelling whilst posting this. I am based in Bristol, UK.
On the day of installation, they left deep scratches in our wooden flooring. Several parts of the windows were also not fitted correctly, which led to ongoing window issues — although to their credit, these were addressed within a week each time.
However, repeated visits to our property to fix ongoing problems shouldn't have occurred in the first place.
Additionally, the gaps between the walls and the wooden frames were not filled with expanding foam, resulting in noticeable draughts. The windows were also finished with large wooden skirting boards, which look quite odd. We were told this was standard practice for their installations, but it appeared more likely that this was done to cover holes that were too large after the previous windows were removed.

Regarding the timber architraves, when replacing original timber windows with modern uPVC frames, the surrounding voids are often larger. The new windows cannot be made bigger to fill these, as this would cause the frame and glazing to sit behind the external building structure. Timber architraves are therefore used to finish the internal reveals, and the ones installed match those displayed in our showroom.

From start to finish
From start to finish, our experience has been terrible. We clearly explained the specification we wanted and were given a quote based on that. On a later visit, it became clear that the specification was completely wrong. This was only corrected because we had written proof of what had originally been agreed.
The installation itself was then carried out poorly. The window cill does not align with the external rendering due to the thickness of the previous cill — something that was never discussed or communicated to us beforehand and was only discovered once the work had been completed.
As a result, we were left with an approximately 2.-inch gap between the wall and the cill. Rather than properly rectifying their error, they filled the gap with expanding foam and offered to put cement around it, which is not an acceptable or professional solution. We were originally told the work would involve minimal damage; however, due to their oversight and poor workmanship, we are now left facing additional costs to correct an issue entirely of their making.
We also specifically requested vents in all windows. It later came to light that the en-suite window had been supplied without a vent. When this was raised, we were told the factory was unwilling to change the templates for a single window, and we were discouraged from insisting on a vent, being told to simply open the window instead. When we insisted, they removed the window and attempted to install a vent themselves. The result was poorly finished and looked unprofessional. When we raised concerns about how the hole looked, we were told that we “wouldn’t see it,” which entirely misses the point — we expected a proper, professional finish.
We have also requested copies of the survey notes relating to our installation, which they have refused to provide. Instead, we were instructed to submit a Subject Access Request, despite this not being necessary in these circumstances. During discussions, we were told they were short of surveyors and had to bring someone out of retirement to assist. We were also told by one of their representatives that mistakes like this had happened before and that this was not the first time.
Instead of attempting to resolve these issues amicably, the company has now initiated court proceedings because we are withholding the outstanding balance of £933.53. This is our right under the Consumer Rights Act while defects remain unresolved. We have made it clear that we are more than willing to pay the balance once their mistakes are properly rectified.
Based on our experience, I would not recommend this company.

We’re sorry to hear that this experience has been disappointing.
The issue raised relates to a specialist K-Rend finish, which was not included within our original contract. We have proposed a practical solution involving a specialist contractor to assist with making good, despite this falling outside the agreed scope of works.
A large volume of documents, including all installation photographs, was requested citing data protection rights. The appropriate and lawful process in these circumstances is to submit a Subject Access Request under UK GDPR, which was advised.
We have responded directly to set out a proposed resolution and remain willing to resolve matters professionally.

Caddy good, glazing units poor.
Used Caddy to replace all windows and front door. Within 3 years nearly half of the double glazed units have become defective, condensation appearing inside the double glazing under certain atmospheric conditions. This leads to the windows becoming opaque. Caddy have been excellent at replacing them, but what happens when the guarantee expires? If my windows continue to deteriorate, at this rate, then the windows will not be value for money. I have stopped recommending Caddy, as the double glazed units they buy in, do not last.

The issue described relates to sealed-unit failure, which is a manufacturing defect fully covered under your 10-year guarantee. A number of sealed units have been replaced to date, all free of charge, including the glass and refitting.
For reassurance, the sealed units supplied were fabricated by Emplas Window Systems Limited using Planitherm glass by Saint-Gobain, both established, industry-standard manufacturers widely used across the UK.
Your guarantee remains in place until January 2031, and any further issues of the same nature will continue to be dealt with in exactly the same way.

‘Endurance’ front door.
We went to Caddy Windows to discuss the possible purchase of an ‘Endurance’ composite front door.
We were warmly welcomed by Greg O’Donovan who talked us through the aspects of our initial choice’s. We later returned, and ordered the door and side window. It was nice to receive valuable advice without any sales pressure.
When the door had been manufactured, it was installed by the cheerful and amiable, Scott. He made a very neat installation, clearing up when finished.
