Wanna give a massive shout out to Ferhat. He made the learning experience so comfortable, did not over instruct but gave clear direct feedback to correct any mistakes but always leading with positivity. This helped me pass my test first time with only 3 minors, a big testament to his teaching style

My instructor, Travis Joseph from BSM, is an incredible educator who strives to make sure his students get the best possible results. He is calm, supportive and encouraging. He has helped me so much with passing my driving test by giving me clear instructions, reassuring me, and most importantly doesn’t shout😅. Considering that I have been doing driving lessons for roughly 6.5 months and all of them being with Travis, I very much recommend booking with him.

Had Leander Tonkin as my instructor, did such a wonderful job! Friendly chatty and lovely to learn from, made driving fun, was patient throughout and got me passing first time! would recommend to anyone starting on the roads as a complete beginner, taught me all I know, thanks so much Leander!!

After managing to get a test booked at Farnborough at fairly short notice we sought out a driver instructor that could teach our teenager how to drive in the given time frame.

Travis stepped in and quickly assessed the level he was at and set out a plan to get him up to speed for the test.

Travis was super helpful, calm, explained everything clearly, was very flexible with the lessons and made the whole process extremely easy. Giving him areas to work on whilst at home.

All this resulted in a first time pass, so huge credit to Travis. Would definitley recommend to anyone.

Thank you Christakis Paphitis for helping me to get my driving licence. Chris made sure I'm prepared and explained everything I should know. I feel confident now and happy that I finally have my driving licence.

I had a very disappointing experience with this driving school.

During my time learning, my instructor repeatedly cancelled lessons at the last minute. My very first lesson was cancelled with only a few hours’ notice, another was cancelled on the same day, and one was even cancelled just two minutes before it was due to start. I was always understanding and flexible, appreciating that unexpected situations can happen.

Unfortunately, when I had to cancel a lesson due to a medically advised injury, despite giving more than 24 hours’ notice, I was still charged a two-hour cancellation fee. While I understand there is a 48-hour cancellation policy, I had been advised by my GP to completely rest my ankle before starting physiotherapy and genuinely hoped I would recover in time for the lesson. This was not a cancellation made for convenience.

What disappointed me most was how my complaint was handled. I raised concerns not only about the cancellation fee but also about the repeated last-minute cancellations by my instructor and what I felt was an inconsistent application of the cancellation policy. However, I received a response simply stating that my complaint was closed because the instructor wished to continue charging the cancellation fee. My concerns about the instructor’s repeated cancellations and unprofessional conduct were not addressed or acknowledged at all.

I believe policies should apply fairly to both instructors and customers. It is difficult to accept being charged for a medically necessary cancellation when the instructor repeatedly cancelled lessons with little or virtually no notice, including minutes before a scheduled lesson, without any apparent accountability.

Overall, I found the customer service dismissive and the handling of my complaint extremely poor. I cannot recommend this driving school based on my experience.

I had the privilege of having BSM instructor Scott Reynolds who I could not recommend highly enough. Not only is he incredibly skilled and thorough in his teaching but also very friendly and patient. Scott goes above and beyond to ensure that you are a confident and safe driver not only for your test but for after passing aswell and is invested in your individual progress as a driver. I could not have been as confident with driving with any other instructor.

My test was on 25/6/26 and I booked 10-hr lessons starting from 16/5/26 with Darren Shearer. From day 1, he treated me in condescending manners and consistently told me that I would fail the test because I started the lessons in very little time & 1 & half month time was not enough.

He made racist remarks without assessing my skills well, like “ Driving licenses from Asian countries & China are useless and just a plastic card,” about 3 times after I told him that I used to drive back home.

On 20/6/26, I had 2 two-hr lessons: 1 in the am which I did a mock test & 1 in pm. During the mock test, he made me join the high-speed dual carriageway without giving me any lesson about it before. As I hesitated to join, he shouted at me. During the pm lesson, he shouted at me for every single mistake I made and belittled me, saying I would fail the test definitely. His consistent shouting throughout the lesson made me do more mistakes. At the end, he refused to come along to my driving test although I requested that I had done 10-hr lesson with him and it was tricky to book a test due to my tight schedule at work and I had to swap with my colleague to get that test date. Then, he shouted at me to get out of the car. While I was standing between the driver-seat door and the car, talking to him, he tried to shut the door forcefully despite me between the door & the car.

Although I reported to BSM team about his rude & racist behaviors, they ignored the complaint without taking serious action and closed the case, telling me that Darren denied all the allegations and they couldn’t take any action without concrete evidences such as CCTV footage. What an irresponsible comment! I should have done voice recording since I noticed his condescending manners from D1. It was so wrong of me that I had put up with him all along as it was difficult to get an instructor.

Despite his rude behaviors, comments and their negligence, I passed my test with the first attempt.

I would never ever recommend the BSM or that instructor to my colleagues for sure.

I was really happy with Dave at BSM when teaching my first two boys, who both passed with flying colours. Unfortunately, I felt extremely let down by how he treated my third son on the day of his driving test.

Dave picked him up two hours before the test, and because my son got some questions wrong during the lesson beforehand—a combination of test-day anxiety and perhaps not revising enough—Dave became angry, shouting at him and constantly moaning. My son already struggles with anxiety and confidence, so this only made his nerves spiral out of control.

Dave then refused to take him to his driving test because he didn’t want a fail recorded against his name. He told my son that if he wanted to take the test, he would have to use his own car, and then brought him back home. My son was devastated. This was incredibly unprofessional and completely the wrong way to treat someone who was already anxious on such an important day.

Apparently, a pupil had failed the previous day, and Dave admitted he wasn’t in a good mood. Unfortunately, the test fee was wasted. We tried to get my son to the test centre ourselves at the last minute, but because we didn’t know where it was or the procedure, we arrived late and he missed the test altogether. As an instructor, Dave would have known candidates wait in the car park to be collected, but we had no idea.

To make matters worse, Dave then messaged my son later that afternoon asking how he got on. That felt incredibly insensitive, especially after refusing to take him. It honestly made me wonder whether he only wanted to know in case my son had somehow passed, so he could claim the success, but didn’t want to risk a fail affecting his statistics.

We carried on helping our son with his driving, booked another test a few weeks later, and he passed with zero faults. He achieved that in a calm, supportive environment, without someone shouting at him, making him feel stupid, or increasing his anxiety just before the test.

It’s such a shame, because our experience with Dave was excellent with our first two sons. Sadly, the way he treated our third son completely changed our opinion, and I can’t overlook how damaging that experience was for a young person already lacking confidence. I would not recommend Dave if you suffer with anxiety and will be very nervous on the day of your test because quite frankly he makes it a whole lot worse , not better . Very disappointing experience . Just pleased we managed to get our son through it ourselves and he also passed with flying colours just like his brothers .

I wrote a complaint to BSM but it hasn’t been acknowledged or actioned 14.7.26

I had a very good experience with my instructor Paul Spring. I found we got on well, and his style of instruction was calm and logical. His professionalism and high standards he set gave me a very good start at driving. I like working with someone who loves what they do and this clearly came through with Paul.

"Hi Sibildas, we're sorry your Instructor wasn't able to make the lesson. Please check that your contact number is up to date, as that's usually how Instructors get in touch if there are any issues. If the lesson didn't go ahead, the hours should be refunded back to your account. If that hasn't happened, please drop our team a message and we'll be happy to take a look."

I did contact customer service and they said that won't be able to refund the charged money/hours because of they have proof that instructor messaged me.
Pathetic service from the customer service. I have waited more than 30 minutes on the day and didn't see any bsm vehicles nearby. When I asked customer service member to request to confirm where he was parked ( so that I can request cctv footage from nearby), the response from the instructor was "he is not remembering the location"

Of course he won't remember because he didn't come near to my property. But the customer service accepted that response and asked me to contact external agency to get my refund back. Very poor!!

I passed my driving test today, and I honestly couldn't have done it without the incredible support and guidance of my instructor, Olusola Williams.
After having lessons with other private instructors, I genuinely believed I was ready for my test. But meeting Mr. Sola through BSM completely changed my perspective. He opened my eyes to so many things I had never been taught and helped me understand not just how to drive, but why things should be done a certain way. His practical approach to teaching is unforgettable—you leave every lesson feeling more confident and knowledgeable.

Sola is one of the calmest, most patient, and most dedicated instructors you could ever hope to learn from. No matter how many questions I asked, he always took the time to explain everything clearly, using real-life examples that made even the most challenging concepts easy to remember. You can immediately tell that he genuinely loves what he does and is passionate about helping his students succeed.

What stands out most is that Sola doesn't just teach you to pass a driving test—he teaches you how to become a safe, confident, and responsible driver for life. His belief in me, encouragement, and attention to detail gave me the confidence I needed to pass.

If you're looking for an instructor who truly cares about your progress and wants to see you succeed, I cannot recommend Olusola Williams highly enough. Choosing him was one of the best decisions I made on my driving journey.

I honestly can't recommend Mario Trapasso enough.

I passed my driving test today, and I genuinely don't think I'd have done it without his patience, encouragement, and teaching style.

I'm one of those people who needs things explaining like I'm five... and somehow Mario managed to do exactly that without ever making me feel silly. 😂 He broke everything down into simple, easy-to-understand steps, and if I didn't get something the first (or fifth!) time, he'd calmly explain it again until it finally clicked.

He always stayed calm, even when I was convinced I'd done something completely wrong. Instead of knocking my confidence, he'd explain what happened, why it happened, and how to improve next time. That made such a huge difference because every lesson felt like progress rather than failure.

What I appreciated most was that he didn't just teach me how to pass a driving test. He taught me how to become a safe, confident driver. I can honestly say I now enjoy driving instead of fearing it.

Thank you, Mario, for your endless patience, your sense of humour, and for believing in me even when I doubted myself. You made every lesson enjoyable, and I'm so grateful for everything you've taught me.

Dreadful experience for my daughter who paid upfront for a block of 10 lessons. She was advised she would be contacted within 2 days but it was more than a week before she was contacted. First lesson was booked in for a few weeks later. This was then cancelled the day before because the sun was out and the instructor wanted a family day. My daughter requested a lesson within the same week and was ignored and waited a further week for her first lesson. After the first lesson she was extremely distressed at how she was spoken to throughout the lesson. The only positive is after cancelling any further lessons with this instructor she received her refund quickly,

I would avoid Bryan Passmore as a driving instructor in St Albans based on my experience.

I completed 20 hours of lessons with him and had my driving test booked, with a further 6 hours of lessons arranged in preparation. However, just 13 days before my test, he refused to take me and cancelled all remaining lessons.

What I found most disappointing was that throughout my lessons I had been told I was on track, that my driving was generally good, and that my main area for improvement was manoeuvres. At no point was I told my test date was unrealistic or that there were serious concerns about my readiness.

When he called to cancel, the conversation was abrupt and patronising, beginning with the words “I’m very disappointed with you,” despite me being a paying customer and despite no specific driving faults being identified.

I fully understand that instructors have discretion over whether they take a pupil to test, but the lack of clear communication, late notice, and manner in which this was handled left me in a very difficult position.

Both my two children passed first time using Jayce Pompui-Thomas. He was very patient and kind. My daughter had a previous instructor who was useless and took away her confidence. Jayce gave her confidence back with her first lesson.

I had my first experience with BSM in the North Hertfordshire area, as I needed a new driving instructor. I had an instructor called ‘Ralph Hart’ we had spent 1.55 hrs of my 2hr lesson sat parked on the side of the road talking. Baring in mind that I have already had 25+ hours worth of experience in lessons prior to that. I just don’t appreciate spending £73 to not really even practice given my previous experience. It’s totally unacceptable for a 2hr lesson to only be driving for 5 minutes in total.
