The food was very disappointing. I ordered the lamb shepherd’s pie and, despite it being described as a lamb dish, I only found two pieces of lamb in the whole meal. The drinks were also extrem... Se mer

This should be a 5 and not a 2 why
This should be a 5 and not a 2 why? because the first impression walking in the door, waiting for a table came a scruffy Manager (male) with what looked like old white trainers (maybe thinking he was cool!) with dirty laces, the girls said he was helping in the kitchen, he should've stayed there. However, the girls were a credit to Browns they were smart, meticulous and always looking to help, so professional. The full English was perfect so no complaints there.
Browns Manchester Afternoon Tea Gimmick…
Went to Browns Manchester today for afternoon tea. The price of £24 us a total rip off. Two rounds of sandwiches and a handful of tiny cakes. We were also served a pot of look warm stewed tea. When we asked for more hot tea, the waiter advised that he could only add additional hot water. Subsequently, the tea just looked and tasted like warm water.
Out if most menu choices but staff very good
Went to Browns Cambridge with group of friends for a pre Xmas get together . Most things on the set menu weren’t available . Figs , sea bass , cheeses , crumble desert , decaffeinated coffee, calamari , prawn starter was very bland . Pate tasteless . Turkey mains was delicious although could have been warmer . Sadly doubt as though we would visit again . Japanese waitress ( sorry forgot your name ) was fantastic and very patient and apologetic.
Fab food, disgusting WCs
Visited Browns in York yesterday. Had a lovely eggs benadict in the upstairs cafe. Then went to the toilets !!! Which are in serious need of refurbishment and hygienicly disgusting! Come on Brown's! Your a high end store. Do something with your loos.
Small portions and reheated
Recently visited your Cambridge restaurant always enjoy the location decor and atmosphere.
I ordered the fish pie which arrived in a shallow dish, the portion was suitable as a starter and not a expensive main, it was watery as if it had been heated up and very bland I followed this with the cheese board the biscuits were stale and the cheese portion was very small .
After many years visiting various branches this was my final visit.
Jess was a star at Browns Bluewater
Visited Browns restaurant at Bluewater today. They were having difficulties with supplies but explained what was available before we sat down. The serving staff were excellent and Jess in particular.
At one point my elderly mother began to choke on her food. Jess and another server rushed to help out, offering to call a doctor/ambulance. Once my mother recovered Jess brought her a fresh plate of food and checked in regularly to make sure she was ok. We couldn’t have asked for more attentive service. We were very grateful.
This is how restaurants should be.
Visited Browns Cambridge as I have many…
Visited Browns Cambridge as I have many times and although service was good the fish pie I ordered was very disappointing it hardly covered the dish and was over cooked and very expensive for the portion size. I think Browns are generally cutting down on portion sizes while upping the prices. I won’t be visiting again.
Visited with a group of 6 for lunch
Visited with a group of 6 for lunch. Had Lunch menu and was very pleased with food on offer.
Our waitress was called ELA and she was pleasant and accommodating - one of our party arrived late but this did not present a problem.
Lunch @ Browns Nottingham
We visited Browns at Nottingham for lunch and what a great experience we had, from being shown to our table and throughout the meal. Mike our server was attentive without being pushy. We enjoyed the food we had and will certainly being visiting again.
Would give no stars if possible
Would give no stars if possible. Was treated appallingly and told no food could be given to us because of an allergy. Manager lacked knowledge about his menu and charged for drinks despite turning us away. Rude and made party feel uncomfortable.
Visited the restaurant at Canary Wharf…
Visited the restaurant at Canary Wharf and how pleased I was at the service we received.
The waitress was lovely and not pushy, never mithered us whilst we ate our delicious food. Sea bass risotto and the amazing gnocchi. The waiter bringing up the food from down the stairs too, so professional and effortless! Well done all, and all at a good price too 😁
Browns Ruislip
Our experience started with my father walking to the toilet and asking the manager where the toilet was to be found. The manager neither stopped nor gave him other than a general direction of travel.
In my considerable years of life, I've never purchased a bottle of wine, and it has been plonked on the table and not opened or offered to anyone.
On asking if there were any specials, I was told 'no idea...... do you want me to check....'. I can't fault the food but why would you pay the prices asked without the service to go with it!
When we politely asked for the service charge to be removed, we were told 'I'll have to check with my manager.' When I challenged it, I was told that was the policy! I can only fault the management as even after refusing the service, they couldn't even be bothered to ask the reason why! Such a shame as we had travelled for my Nans 90th birthday, which again they had been made aware of and nothing was mentioned even though other tables were being recognised for birthdays.....
Browns does it again!
The ambiance, the seating arrangements, the serving staff and of course the food make this a really enjoyable venue to meet friends or family.
Today was my seventh time to eat here and I cannot believe the consistency of the food- every meal has been beautifully cooked and presented served by lovely friendly waiting staff.
I have used the lunchtime menu each time as it is excellent value. Today I enjoyed the Smoked salmon, Steak Frites and Ice cream.
I like my steak rare and they have really pulled the stops out for me. It was perfect!
Our waiter Melston was really helpful, nice and very knowledgeable.
Browns is a great addition to Ruislip and the outside area is perfect to eat or drink when the weather is beautiful.
Tasteless dry food
Went to Brown’s Covent Garden and what a real disappointment it turned out to be .
Our waiter was excellent but the food was no better than a Wetherspoons.
The burgers were dry and tasteless I really think there wasn’t any actual cooking involved almost as if it was heated in a microwave.
Will not be returning.
Fantastic service and food
Fantastic service and food. Michael was our host and went over and above to ensure we enjoyed our visit.
A bit of a miss…
A shame that such a nice venue is lacking when it comes to the all important service and quality of food.
When we first arrived we were looked after by attentive staff. I ordered the chicken schnitzel and it was a complete disappointment. It was overcooked to the point I could hardly cut into it and the meat was as dry as a bone and chewy. My pint of beer wasn't a full pint either, something I and others I know have experienced before in this restaurant and something Browns continually fail to put right.
We were given dessert menu's straight after our main meal so we asked for five minutes to decide. We waited for another 20 minutes before we could get the attention of a server. After dessert we wanted a coffee and another long wait ensued. Our server took our order and after waiting another 15 minutes we asked where the coffees were only to be told the server had forgotten to put the order through!
Overall a poor experience of Browns in terms of service and the quality of the food especially considering this was a Saturday evening and the restaurant wasn't even 50% full.
We won't be back for a while, Browns need to actually do something about the comments they receive and up their game considering there are plenty of other (and better) places to eat with quality service.
Misleading menu
Considering the high profile standing of this Covent Garden restaurant on which have visited a few times although not in some years sadly the standards have fallen , eg misleading menu prices small print not pointed out by very inexperienced staff who struggled to get order correct leading to a frustrating meal
Browns. Avoid where possible
Browns - Ruislip. Utterly appalling. Poor quality food, served up by an obviously poorly trained and disorganised kitchen staff although most of the dishes were pre cooked and tasteless. Chicken schnitzel was more Macdonalds than fine cuisine. The service haphazard and some staff literally threw items onto the table. Best part of this restaurant are the plants outside. To be avoided. Definitely the worst restaurant in the area for value and quality and that is some accolade not to be proud to have. Incredibly noisy so if you dont want to talk or hear what your table companions are saying this is perhaps the place for you but not for me. Truly horrendous
Browns Windsor
On arrival we asked about taking our dog in with us to which we were told no problem and we were taken through the restaurant to a garden table. Our server promptly got a fresh bowl of water for the dog. The meal was excellent and plenty of it. Thoroughly recommend Brown's at Windsor. Management and staff couldn't have been more helpful.
