Horrible customer service, issue resolved after 7 weeks of multiple follow up calls

I ordered a pair of shoes at Bloomingdales online on 4/10/24. They arrived on 4/13/24, and the box showed the correct size, but the shoes inside were 1/2 size smaller. I tried to exchange for the correct size but Bloomingdales does not do online exchanges and I was told I had to return them. Strange for a department store, but I started the return anyhow, and my size sold out in the meantime. Instead of a credit back to my credit card, they mailed me a merchandise gift card. I called back when I received it on 4/26/24 (second call to resolve this issue) and told them I wanted the amount refunded to my original form of payment. They told me they would void the merchandise card and credit my card for the amount. I waited a week and a half without seeing any credit before calling back to check (third call, 5/6/24), at which point I was told they had no history of the credit or gift card. So I had to place three phone calls (to return, to get a credit and to check on the credit), all for a pair of shoes that I would have kept if they had sent me the right size in the first place, and the issue still isn't resolved! I won't be shopping at Bloomingdales again.

EDIT: The company finally issued a credit to my card, which shows as pending as of today. Since my original review, I called to follow up on 5/9/24 (fourth call) when I still didn't see any pending credit on my card. I was told 3-10 days for them to issue the credit. On 5/30/24, I intended to call one last time to explain the whole thing from start to finish (on a recorded line) with the intention of telling them I would be disputing it with my credit card company and having them call and ask for the recording as proof I tried to resolve it directly with Bloomingdales multiple times if I didn't see the credit within a week. Luckily I checked my card account before making that call, and as of today, 5/30/24, it finally shows a credit pending. Over 7 weeks to make a simple return and receive my money back. I suspect we will soon see Bloomingdales added to the long list of stores that have gone under, as they 100% lost my business with this one transaction.

worse than bot

Bloomingdale's customer service behaves like a bot. Repeating themselves with no solution. So, I received a defective item and initiated a return, stating that the item was defective. I got my package back a few days later, and they refused to give me my refund. The reason is that I need to call them to file a claim instead of just returning... This whole time they accused me of doing things wrong, not following the returning policy...

Worst customer service ever……

Worst customer service ever… Bloomingdales at Palm Beach gardens Florida is a joke! If you purchase brand names from the store and if you not a black card holder you’re not able to return or get store credit … please read very carefully the return policy for the “luxury brand “ is only 30 days not 90 days .. can you imagine??? And if you wanna talk with someone like the Store manager she is not available.. so basically you can return if you have a black card and you can’t if you have a purple card..plus the way they treat you is not acceptable.. Nordstrom has a good reputation, good customer service and I never had an issue with anything especially returning items with receipts and tag price! Management in Nordstrom stores are very helpful and respectful not like Bloomingdales!

Last 2 international orders cancelled!

Bloomingdale's used to be good in past years for international shipping, so something has changed. Placed an order in January for a few items. After about a week, no shipping update came through, so I emailed CS and was told the order was cancelled as items not available and that I would be refunded. I had to wait for that money to come back in fully as it came out as a transaction and not a 'hold'. When I went back to the website, the same items were still on there able to be purchased!

Almost a month later, same thing, placed an order for 5 individual items, followed up and was told order cancelled again! I mean what is going on? Is the website showing stock which is not available? Is it an international issue? Whatever it is Bloomingdales, please do not have a website which allows you to purchase, if items are not available! Or at least send out a communication to customers if there are internal issues with receiving orders. Very frustrating. Right now, I will stick to NM & Saks, whose websites are more sophisticated, that will advise if something is out of stock and who actually ship orders to the UK!

Customer Service Calamity: How Bloomingdales Lost a $400 Order and Customer for Life

On Jan 15 2024, I ordered $400.58 of skincare for same day delivery that never arrived. Bloomingdales sent an email confirmation that it had been dropped off (via Door Dash, their delivery partner), but the photo taken by the driver showed it was delivered to the wrong location, hence why I didn't get my products.

I called customer service at 800-777-0000, expecting this to be solved immediately with either a full refund, or replacement items sent to me the next day. Instead I got an offshore call center with well-intentioned, but poorly trained staff that said my "claim" required a 72-hour hold for an investigation and that I would be contacted by email of "their decision". I explained there is no "decision", there is only give me my money back or send me the products considering the clear mistake on Bloomingdales' part. I got the same robotic response from the Bloomingdales chat (live person).

Making matters worse, this morning I received an email informing me of $26.63 refund for the delivery service, but no update or recognition that issue is that I still don't have a $400 refund or an offer to replace the products.

At this point I try writing to their customer service team via email. I attach a PDF of the location of where the products were apparently dropped off, and what my address actually looks like to show them this was clearly delivered to the wrong address, as well as all my case #, order number, full name, etc. To which I get a no reply bounce back email asking me for my billing address, which I send, but the automated response only escalates my frustration.

At this point I'm worried I won't actually get my money back so turn to their social media DMs to see if I can get some resolution. No response on Facebook, Twitter, but signs of life on Instagram DM. I explain the situation again and am told that they are happy to refund my delivery fee of $26 without any recognition of the fact that I never got my product. This person then says they will "re-open" my claim to investigate the remaining balance. Wait, what???

I have much better things to do with my time than play detective on how to escalate the issue with Bloomingdales, or writing reviews on Trust Pilot, but the unprofessional, sloppy way this has been handled makes me feel like I've been robbed.

If this issue gets resolved, I'll update the review accordingly, but the one star remains. My trust is broken and I have lost confidence in Bloomingdale's ability to deliver on a premium customer experience, especially where there are plenty of alternative retailers with a customer first "well make this right" mentality.

I ordered a pair of Uggs for my daughter for Xmas. Received an email saying everything was good to go. Week later received an email that my purchase was now delayed till January. Fine things happen but now I received an email delayed till February! Horrible service and at this rate I don’t think I’ll have them in for the winter! Never again will use Bloomingdale’s! Just received another email telling to cancel my order and pick a pair of new shoes. Customer service has falling by the wayside in America.

Don’t your attitude!

Bought purse online. Card charged 3 times, but got email stating there was a verification problem and told to call. I called, verified everything, and then was told item was out of stock. Called again and was told by “Betty S- 183140” that I can buy it in the store and get a price adjustment, after she snarkly chuckled that it was not a bait and switch as I claimed AND wanted me to explain why they wouldn’t sell me something they had. I told her I didn’t appreciate her snickering sarcasm and want them to honor the sale from their stores.

She was the most unprofessional, rude, unuseful customer agent I’ve ever dealt with!

TERRIBLE

TERRIBLE! I decided to buy online and they immediately offered me to join “Loyalist” club . The lure was $25 discount at the First purchase . I joined . Only to discover that it didn’t work. I called customer service for explanation and was told that I have to wait till tomorrow. Then I could cash the voucher either online or at the store. I went to the Boca Raton store to discover that it didn’t work AGAIN ! Called again to customer service and was told again that it will work TOMORROW! Bunch of LIARS ! CHEATERS ! Will never show in Bloomingdale’s again!

Total scam

Bought a $800 shoe from them online, and they sent us the wrong product (a totally different color). I tried calling them a dozen times, and even went to the store in person twice, were still unable to return it for some stupid reason.

Completely unhelpful and are screwing me out of a ton of points because they’re system messed up and are refusing to do anything about it. I am really unhappy and will now never buy anything from this store again. I have spent over $10,000 with you and this is completely disgusting. Good job loosing a very loyal and good customer because you are not willing to do anything to help the people who keep your store open

what a disaster! Holiday gifting at its worst

what a disaster!! I made a gift order for 3 expensive Hermes nail polishes and base coat. they came without a gift box or my card message. no gift receipt, they sent the real receipt!!! their class is out the door. customer service was awful and the supervisor Chris from Denver, if he even gave me his real name, he was obnoxious ! the amount of calls I made , was ridiculous, who has this sort of time to waste during holiday season. the date I gave was my order date the date received was the 13th ,10 days later.

Horrible experience !

Horrible experience !! I received my order ( candle) it arrived completely Broken . I try multiple times to get to the bottom of it and for them to sent replacement … I was transferred from person to person without any solution. No one seem to know what they doing !!!!! To the point I’m planing to cancel my credit card with them !!!! Once again horrible !!!!

Never again

Never again. I purchased something online for the first and last time. I received the package on time, but it contained a fraudulent item that had been swapped by a previous customer. I reported this immediately to Bloomingdales and told them I required the item urgently for work, they arranged for a replacement to be sent straight away. The item did not arrive when they said it would, so I called again and was then advised that they couldn’t send the item before the return item was received due to the high value. They then arranged a refund, the refund did not come through. I followed up three weeks later and had to re-request the refund and was told it would come through in 48 hours, it did not. I called again and was advised oh sorry it will be ten days. So six weeks later and still no refund. Why am I the one put out by someone else’s fraudulent activity and lack of quality control, no help at all from Bloomingdales to expedite the refund. This has been extremely inconvenient for me having to call up four times.

Amateur website / online shopping failure

For a store that charges mega bucks, and compared to any newbie using Shopify as their store front, this was the worst checkout experience of my life.

Gift box - $5. Checkbox doesn't do anything
Credit card. Starts with 5. I promise you it's a MasterCard. I typed it in manually. Your website says it's not a match...what...why?
Loyalty club - promised me a $25 off discount but never received anything of the sort.
Literally no ability to contact help - have to call a number ? What hell is this we are in 2023 you charge SUPER-premium prices for a amateur experience! When you run out of rich people to rip off good luck to your business

I placed an order from bloomgdales on…

I placed an order from bloomgdales on 11/4/23. On 11/10/23 I received a email from UPS stating that my package was delivered. However, it was not. I tried submitting a claim through UPS and I was not able to submit it. I had to file the claim through Bloomingdale’s. I did that and then I received a email stating that my claim was denied. I contacted the UPS driver from my area and he stated to me that the package was delivered to the wrong address. He noticed the mistake and went back to retrieve the package but it was already gone. He advised me to contact Bloomingdale’s again and relay that information to them so that they can start a claim. I contacted them a second time with that information and a second claim was opened. Again I received a email denying my claim. I called Bloomingdale’s for an explanation as to why my claim was denied and they could not give me a reason as to why. They could only say that it was investigated and denied. It’s obvious that Bloomingdale’s did a poor and lazy investigation. All they needed to do was contact UPS and UPS would have started a claim. They had already admitted that the packed was left at the wrong address. For unknown reason Bloomingdale’s was refusing to do that. The customer service agent said that nothing else could be done because that claim was closed and it will not be reopened. I contacted UPS and they are saying that they can’t open a claim until Bloomingdale’s contacts them. The customer service at Bloomingdale’s is extremely poor and their investigating team lacks the experience to do a thorough investigation. I am now out over $600. Needless to say I will not be shopping at Bloomingdale’s again.

Wonderful and magical

My boyfriend and I visited from London. We visited the Bloomingdale's store in Lexington Avenue and it was a wonderful experience. All of the staff were so lovely and so friendly. The beautiful lady in Christian Dior make-up and perfume searched high and low in the store to find a discontinued Dior perfume that I could not find anywhere in Europe. I was given a free gift, too. The ladies at Shiseido were lovely and the young man at Dyptique. Then the wonderful men at John Varvatos who sold us the lovely aftershave. Aside from Central Park and the Statue of Liberty, Bloomingdale's is my favourite place in NYC.. love you all xx
