Seriously incompetent customer service…

Seriously incompetent customer service reps. They placed the order on the phone, gave me a confirmation number (I never received any email or text confirmations). Had to call the next day and the rep. (who was very rude) could not track my order and asked me to re-submit my order. What a waste of time.

Customer service incompetence

Inconsistent customer service following multiple interactions, last of which was rude and dismissive of the situation, with attempts to patronize (in forceful, hurried, and broken English). My order was canceled without justification--I was paying with a gift card. I was then informed that my account was under review (I have never made any other payments/purchases online) and that any future attempts to make a purchase would "likely be canceled too." Pathetic. Having wasted hours trying to resolve the situation, I have come to the conclusion that my time and money is better spent elsewhere. E-commerce done like this can be very costly to loyalty.

The balance of the gift card is incorrect

After cancellation of some items in my online orders, I checked the balance of my gift cards used to make these orders and the balance can't matched. Then I called to let the customer service to help me checked the gift cards and they told me the correct card balance and it would take 3-5 working days to process the request. I have waited for 10 working days but the gift cards balance remain the same. The six gift card should have an overall remain balance of $5153.98 but right now the balance is $1049.52. I spent so much time in making phone calls communicating with them and they still didn't help me to solve my problem and refuse to contact via email.

Bloomingdale’s has been my go to store…

Bloomingdale’s has been my go to store for many years. Ordering online from them is something I will avoid. They don’t seem to have their inventory matched up with their shopping cart. The week before Christmas, I found a wonderful gift and purchased it. Then the week of Christmas, I get an email saying that the item was sold out. I have a very small little online store and it never lets anybody order something that’s sold out. Bloomingdale’s has a huge infrastructure and still can’t get its online experience worked out. I’ll definitely avoid them in the future.

Terrible customer service

I purchased a watch 3 days ago and paid extra for express shipping and tracking. The item didn’t show up in UPS tracking until late last night and only left NYC late tonight. I have no idea when it will be delivered. I have had to call multiple times every day, wait on hold for an hour or more and scream at the automated assistant to get a live agent. I spoke to two supervisors who were unintelligible and rude. The agent tonight in Florida was chewing gum loudly and being rude and snarky. My shipping was changed to ground AND they added a duplicate pending charge for the item and refused to take it off my account. That suspiciously happened today. DONT ORDER FROM THEM—THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE IS THE WORST—on par with Comcast; just atrocious. Everyone seems to be having the same bad experience. Shop somewhere else!!!

Customer support is such a waste of time. They lost my package and I spent hours going back and forth with their team both via email and phone and still have no idea where it is. Will never buy anything there ever again

Review for Bloomingdale’s: A Complete Disaster

I had one of the most frustrating and disappointing experiences with Bloomingdale’s, and I feel compelled to warn others about their terrible service and lack of customer care. Here’s exactly what happened:

I placed an order with Bloomingdale’s for multiple items that were meant to be Christmas presents. While placing the order, the website assured me that the items would arrive within 3 to 6 business days with standard shipping. Typically, with standard shipping, I’ve never had to wait more than 10 days for an order to arrive from any company. But Bloomingdale’s turned out to be the exception—and not in a good way.

Firstly, there was no estimated delivery date provided at checkout. This should have been the first red flag. After placing my order, I waited for a confirmation, hoping for clarity. Two days later, I received an email informing me that one of my items was now backordered and wouldn’t arrive for two months! TWO MONTHS! This was after they had already taken my money for the entire order.

As for the other items? I received another email stating that they would take over 20 days to arrive—well beyond the 10-day maximum I expected. Keep in mind, these were Christmas presents, and I specifically ordered them in advance to avoid this exact issue.

Frustrated, I called customer service to resolve the problem. What I encountered was an absolute lack of accountability and unwillingness to help. I explained that these items were gifts and needed to arrive before Christmas. Their response? “Just buy new gifts.” Are you kidding me? I had already spent a significant amount of money on this order, and now they were telling me to spend more money because they failed to deliver on their promises.

I asked if they could cancel the order since they couldn’t fulfill it in time. They outright refused. Their policy is that I would have to wait for the items to arrive—even though they might arrive AFTER Christmas—and then return them to the store if I didn’t want them. In other words, they expect me to hold onto an order I don’t need, waste my time returning it later, and be left scrambling for last-minute replacements.

To make matters worse, I spoke with a supervisor hoping for a more reasonable solution. The supervisor’s suggestion? “Place a new order today. It’ll definitely arrive before Christmas.” I asked them how that was possible when the order I placed 10 days ago still hadn’t shipped. They had no answer. It was clear they were just trying to brush me off.

This experience has shown me that Bloomingdale’s is not a trustworthy company. They don’t value their customers, and they certainly don’t care about fixing their mistakes. Their communication is terrible, their policies are rigid and anti-consumer, and their customer service is beyond useless.

I will NEVER shop at Bloomingdale’s again. If you’re considering making a purchase from them, don’t. They don’t care about delivering your items on time, and they’ll happily take your money without any guarantees. This is not the kind of company anyone should support.

Save yourself the stress and shop somewhere else. Bloomingdale’s has completely lost my trust, and they should be ashamed of how they treat their customers.

Absolutely Terrible Service,Never Shopping Here Again


I had the worst experience with Bloomingdale’s, and I feel compelled to share it so others can avoid the same frustration. I ordered a watch and, to my shock, received a package containing women’s underwear instead. Mistakes happen, but what followed was truly unacceptable.

I contacted their customer service immediately and was repeatedly told to “wait 24 hours” or “wait 72 hours” while they “investigated” the issue. This unhelpful cycle went on for weeks with no resolution. Their team was dismissive, unresponsive, and clearly disorganized.

To make matters worse, the email responses from their customer service were clearly automated and careless. For example, one email said: “I’m sorry the [name of the item] didn’t work out for you” they didn’t even bother to include the actual product name! This level of sloppiness proves they’re relying on impersonal software and not even checking their communication with customers.

Ultimately, I had to resolve the situation through PayPal, not Bloomingdale’s. PayPal resolved it in less than 10 hours – something Bloomingdale’s failed to do for nearly a month.

Save yourself the headache and shop elsewhere. Their customer service is unreliable, unprofessional, and unworthy of a reputable retailer. Avoid Bloomingdale’s at all costs.

If I can give negative stars

If I can give negative stars, I would. Customer service reps conveniently disconnect the phone call. I’ve been trying to find a helpful rep for the last 3 hours with no luck.
Do not shop Bloomingdales!

I never thought badly of this company…

I never thought badly of this company because I never bought from them before. Today, I tried to make a simple purchase, which was completed, and then cancelled for "more verification." This happened TWICE, tying up a significant amount of money on my card until both pending purchases fell off. I tried using chat to fix it, and chat claimed my name didn't match what I put in on the chat form so they refused to do anything--which is funny, because I had to restart all over a second time with chat to fix that same issue, and made sure that I had my information correct. Then I called and the worker told me that the issue was my email...and, as a potential fix, told me to make another email account from which to make the purchase with. You insane? Wasted an hour of my life, tied up my funds, and refused to sell me anything for no justifiable reason.

Expensive and bad service

Ordered 4 items and paid for gift wrapping. All items sent separately and unwrapped, some had the gift message, some not and none had the gift receipt. Got in touch to complain and they wouldn't speak to me about it because apparently my UK address was not the billing address (which it was otherwise the card would not have been accepted). Had to be escalated to a manager and after 40 minutes of chatting I got my $5 back.

2.5 hours and going around in a circle. Still unresolved.

I was given a sweater as a gift and needed to exchange sizes. There is no exchange, so Bloomingdales required me to order a new one on my credit card. When I returned the sweater, they did not credit my card but rather sent me a gift card in the amount I spent "re-purchasing" my gift. I tried to use the card today and was told it was invalid. After calling the number on the back of the card and waiting for 30 minutes,, it turns out I was connected with Macy's customer service. Another 30 mins to be connected to Bloomingdales. This fellow could hardly speak English and was struggling. There were extended silences and I could hear him walking around, a dog barking, etc. but nothing said to me. I finally asked him to connect me with a supervisor and was put on hold again. While waiting, I used the Bloomindales customer service chat. Provided all of my information, the purchase I wanted to make, where to send, etc, and then they came back and said I had to call the same number where I started. I asked for a supervisor and he reviewed all of my information, asked more questions and then said I needed to call the number on the card. I won't be making this purchase from Bloomingdales and am now out the value of this "gift card" they sent instead of refunding my credit card.

Don’t expect to receive your purchase…

Don’t expect to receive your purchase on time! Bloomingdale’s has the worst shipping time/service of any online retailer. They literally send your package via snail mail but lie about the expected arrival date so you are left wondering if you will ever receive your purchase. I don’t expect Bloomingdale’s to stay in business with this type of treatment to their customers. I’ll be shopping elsewhere.

I would not order from them

I would not order from them. They lie about when you will receive your order just to get your money. My daughter asked for a pair of UGG slippers that was the main thing she wanted for Christmas. They said it was in stock and would be received 3-5 business days. I ordered Dec 5th now it’s saying it won’t be till January 31st way after Christmas and I’ve done spent the money to buy them there. Now I get to have a disappointed 13 year old on Christmas morning. I’ll never shop through them again. This was my first time.

Shame on Bloomingdale's

I ordered a pair of Michael Kors boots December 1, 2024. In the amount of $395.00 the total came to $425.00 Bloomingdale's did not have the boots. They placed a hold on my credit card for the $425 when I looked at the order on December 3rd to check my delivery date they were on back order to be shipped December 26th. Shame, shame on them! They should have formed me when I placed the order. Order # 751625659. Plus, they are still accepting orders for boots they don't have. This was my first and last time ordering from them. Wish I didn't have to give any STARS

Frustrating online experience

Tried to make an order on Cyber Monday. Two of the items could not be shipped - only available as pickup an hour away. No discount code was sent to my email as first time purchaser. Could not complete order with PayPal as it kept circling back to the website. They lost a $250 sale!

The customer service is horrible

The customer service is horrible. They don't know anything. Every simple request needs to go to a specialist and takes over 30 minutes. Plus, the english is always hard to understand. Don't buy through this website if you tend to have questions for customer service.

I placed an online order

I placed an online order, but it arrived with the wrong item. Either the item was returned or it had been used. Be cautious when purchasing expensive items online. I will never trust Bloomingdale’s online ordering service again.

Shockingly bad service

Ordered an expensive toaster - Dualit Newgen 4 slice. It arrived relatively quickly, in about a week. But when I opened the box, I was very surprised to find a damaged toaster, bent bottom, broken crumb tray handle, marks inside and what may have been a few crumbs. And best of all, the packing slip with name and address of the last person who had returned this toaster. Wow! I called immediately and got a return/ exchange started. They sent me a label for the return, and told me the new toaster would arrive in 4 days. The 4 days came and no toaster arrived, so I called back to check. The person said that they refunded my original payment in full, but they could not resend a new toaster. She was not able to explain why, and had only apologies that no one had notified me of any of this. She asked if I would like to place another order, I declined. I’m sad to say that Bloomingdale’s service is really terrible, and has declined significantly over the past few years. I will not order from them again.
