Quick delivery. Well packed.

The delivery was very fast.
I open and checked everything as I have a some months before it goes up, but the tree looks such really good quality so I can’t wait to be able to see it up.

Very quick delivery, the delivery man even carried my tree into the house for me.

I thought this was a premium company, but the help I have received has been absolutely shocking.

I was sent the wrong tree and was offered a refund or replacement. I obviously loved the tree I purchased, so I opted for a replacement. They since informed me that the tree had been discontinued, so would I like to select a different similar tree or go ahead with a refund. So I wasn’t left without a tree, I selected the replacement (the exact same tree, just with clear lights instead of the twinkly light show). They have since come back saying actually they will just provide a refund instead of the replacement and I can repurchase the tree if I like. Doing it this way though, I would be loosing out on over £180 (not including shipping and even with the 10% off).

I have been extremely polite and explained that I feel as if this is not a fair solution for me to pay more to fix their mistake. Unfortunately they are just sending me the same generic response, without even acknowledging my concerns. Even after asking to be passed to a senior member of the team, I’m being dismissed.

I work in customer service myself, and would never want to leave a negative review, but I’m genuinely so confused and cannot believe this is how the case has been handled. It started off well, but they have completely gone back on what was offered and I’m loosing out because of it. Would not recommend.

Speedy delivery

My daughter recommended I purchase from Balsam Hill as they have had a pre-lit Balsam Christmas Tree for many years. I have given 4 stars as I have only been able to give the tree a quick test having purchased it in June. I was impressed with the quality and ease of assembly of my pre-lit tree and look forward to seeing decorated at Christmas.

Very excited to receive my 7ft tree , unfortunately fronds kept falling off it , over 40 lost the first time it was put up . I was so upset so contacted them through their Chat service . I was told this was to be expected and there were extra on the tree than needed in case this happened !!! I told them that a tree that cost £740 should not drop that many so I would like to return it for a refund . I was sent a postage label and realised they expected me to pay the postage to send it back . No way , this in my mind was a defective product , but they claimed it was a change of mind ! So , I emailed customer service and they too said I had to pay the postage back !! So I phoned them and spoke to a very nice gentleman . I commented about the sales of goods act and that the tree was not of satisfactory quality and he agreed . Postage was paid for its return in the end . Stick up for your rights! Tree was returned next day and money transferred into my account within 2 days .

An absolutely beautiful Christmas tree, far exceeded my expectations.

One word Diabolical from order to return. Hard to believe this company is still trading. Messaged by a senior manager Anna, who promised me she would follow my case. Disappeared faster that Lord Lucan and Shergar. Only “puffing” in truth did absolutely nothing to get my refund to me.
Sadly Anna knew this tree was for my disabled daughter and her friends but here we are a week on an no sign of money!
Vile and abhorrent all of it!!!!!

They are very pleased with this and we will continue to shop here as long as they provide high-quality products at a competitive price!

I purchased a tree in the sale expecting premium quality and service, but my experience was the complete opposite. The Christmas tree arrived soiled with grease and the lights did not work. For a product marketed as high quality, this is completely unacceptable.
What was even more disappointing was the response from customer service. Rather than providing a prompt replacement for a defective item, I was told the tree was out of stock and that I should contact them again in October or November when stock becomes available (it’s currently June).
A company selling luxury Christmas trees should stand behind its products and resolve problems immediately, not leave customers in limbo, leaving them with the responsibility to chase resolution again a few months down the line.
Between the poor quality control and the inadequate after-sales support, I have completely lost confidence in this company. For the price charged, I expected far better. I would not purchase from them again and would urge prospective customers to think carefully before spending their money here. I did ask for their complaints procedure but they simply sent me a link to leave a trustpilot review, so here it is. Balsam Hill…..do better.
