I am extremely disappointed with…
I am extremely disappointed with Alienware and Dell.
I purchased an Alienware laptop costing around £3,200, expecting a premium product built to last. Unfortunately, the laptop stopped working shortly after the warranty expired, which is unacceptable for a device at this price point.
After it stopped working, I contacted Dell technical support and was informed that the cost of repair would be around 60–70% of the value of the product. Given how expensive the repair was, it made no financial sense to proceed, so I ultimately chose to purchase a different system instead.
More recently, I contacted Dell support again regarding this issue and was told that the required parts are no longer manufactured, as the system is now considered old. While this makes sense to a degree for an 8-year-old laptop, it does not change the fact that a £3,200 “premium” product should not become effectively unrepairable so soon after its warranty period ends.
For a brand that markets itself as high-end and reliable, this level of product longevity and post-sale support is deeply disappointing. As a result of this experience, I will never buy another Alienware or Dell product again, and I would strongly caution others before investing thousands of pounds in hardware that may be uneconomical—or impossible—to repair once the warranty expires.
Limited options, poor longevity
Dell Alienware is for lazy people, like me. Happy to pay more for optimised, purposely built PC with high spec performance. At least, on the paper. But the options during configuration are becoming very limited, the building quality does not justify the price and, as I found out, there is no way to upgrade the system. The customer service, especially with a premium service, replies promptly but offers no real solutions.
DEAD PIXEL AFTER 9 MONTHS AND BAD SERIVE ON Alienware AW3225QF
DEAD PIXEL AFTER 9 MONTHS Alienware AW3225QF AND VERY BAD SERVICE. a full line from top to bottom of the screen, approximately in the middle of the screen. I reported to Dell that I proved the problem, and they want to give me another refurbished used monitor without a warranty. But I refuse. After a long conversation, I spoke with the manager who sent this case RN:213454969 to the TEAM and asked me to wait 24-48h. After 48h nothing I asked again if they had any news. Tell me to wait again 3rd. After I waited more than double, I asked if they needed another 24h (4 rounds). They said YES... still awaiting update... I deeply regret it now cuz I bought this monitor instead of the ASUS QD-OLED or AORUS just because it was cheaper. This monitor doesn't have a chance on image quality against ASUS ROG QD-OLED or AORUS QD-OLED, FULL STOP. Anyone who wants a good service and a quality monitor should think twice. I want to buy an Alienware laptop, but now I am concerned about service and have only a 1-year warranty, so most probably I will go for Asus or MSI. I wait too much and still unclear the situation with the ALIENWARE RN:213454969 STag: J313YZ3 I ordered MSI MPG 321CURX. They have a 3-year warranty on burners and don't use refurbished parts to solve a case.
Don't ever buy an Alienware
Got an Alienware X15 R2 18 months ago, was great until the motherbaord failed 5 months ago. Dell are unable to source the part to repair it. Waste of £3000, support is awful, was told that high end laptops work harder so break more often. Don't ever buy from them, customer support is terrible and the build quality is non-existent
Alienware does not make good PCs anymore
Remember when Alienware used to make good PCs… I miss those days. They put the cheapest loudest fans in my Alienware and it crashes often… you’d expect more when paying over £3k for a machine. I don’t use this company anymore to buy PCs
fix the £$%50ucking Comand Center are…
fix the £$%50ucking Comand Center are you restarted? The computer is useless without this software, otherwise make a dumba55 fan slider on your Computers or some shit1 if you can't make your software work
Alienware M18 R2
I've never done a review before but I feel so angry and feel that other people should know what to expect from Alienware performance machines.
I purchased this M18 R2 only a couple of months ago and spent over £2500 thinking I would treat myself and wanted a machine that would impress me and could play my games with ease because my last machine was 8 years old and starting to struggle and lag.
One word, disappointed!!
This seemed fine,, (only fine) to start with, but then for no reason it just seemed to be glitchy and laggy??
I was struggling to understand why as I made sure I paid top money for an excellent graphics card and processor ect.
so I decided to put a service call in to help, to start with I thought this was easy but OMG this was painful.
I spent over an hour on the phone trying to trouble shoot and resolve, this done nothing.
Then they sent out an engineer, (and to be fair this was done very promptly) they changed the motherboard and memory and initially this seemed to help and resolve the issue however I did experience the game crashed twice when trying to start it up to test after the engineer had "fixed" it.
Then just a few days later and its worse than ever!! constantly crashing every 5 minutes or so and even more laggy than before so now its simply un playable.
I called again and tried to talk to someone, however, this in its self is a struggle!
Eventually when you get to talk to someone its a call center in India as usual so you have a communication barrier to overcome.
Again they wanted to spend time and trouble shoot taking up your time.
I have then requested a refund due to them already attempting a repair and now its just worse than before.
I get told I need to call during the week.
I asked for someone to call me and was told they cant?? really,, this didn't seem to be an issue when trying to fix it.
So now I start the battle for my consumer rights.
Anyway, rather then just go into a rant I wanted to let people know, my advise would be choose something else. Just so very disappointed,,, all I wanted was something to help take some of the stress away from life but instead I got something to add to it.
I hope this helps.
Alienware AW610M gaming mouse
I was looking for a new mouse for my home office to use for gaming and work. After shopping around I decided to go with alienware and was not disappointed. The item has a strong battery life and a great ergonomic feel when being used. It works well for both work and gaming and was a reasonable price.
Alienware do rubbish laptops
Alienware laptop is the worst high performance laptop ever. For over 3k its a total waste of money so dont bother! I bought mine less than a yr ago brand new and its rubbish!
Keyboard fails often, it crashes out, cant handle excel and outlook often and crashes, battery on full charge lasts less than 1hr, its super heavy to carry and charger weighs a few kilos alone. I can handle the weight if actually worked properly but no, i get to carry out about 15kg (inc charger) of rubbish performance. If you are flying then beware of the weight!
Trust me that i had laptops less than 30% of the price which performed better. I hate this laptop and premium support is rubbish as takes forever to get things sorted. So if you need your laptop then forget it!
save your money and dont bother! I wish i knew how terrible it was as i certainly would not be buying it again.
ALIENWARE M17
DELL IS THE WORST COMPANY TO DEAL WITH. THEY PRODUCT QUALITY IS HORRENDOUS . I HAVE BEEN HAVING A PROBLEM WITH LAPTOP SINCE I BOUGHT IT ITS BEEN 5 MONTHS AND THEY STILL HAVENT FIXED. THEY SERVICE IS AS BAD AS THEY PRODUCTS. SAFE YOURSELF AND DONT BY FROM THEM
ALIENWARE AURORA R15
So where should I begin about this. So I bought a Alienware Monitor and it works perfect. So I thought why not fully set up everything with Alienware. As a Dumba** I went a head bought ALIENWARE AURORA R15 which I paid £3000. placed the order on 3rd November, It took less than month to build and arrived 1st of December. I was very excited. Let me tell you how excited I was, just to pick up this PC I parked my van on a double yellow line ran towards to pick up the this PC. When I came back I even got a parking ticket (£80) :).
Still I didn't really care I paid the parking ticket. Turn on the PC and it worked for couple of days and blue screen. this happen couple of time. I reset the PC. next another issue and reset the pc again. I did reset the PC 4 times. 5th time when I turn it on, it stuck in Alienware Logo don't go anywhere. So they offered me Premium support for 90 days for free ( do not buy Dell/ Alienware premium support ) I contacted them and technician got me to do lot of trouble shooting and none of them worked. Next day I contacted them again and one technician suggested something wrong with Motherboard and he will send a Technician to replace the motherboard.
Ticket raised on 22nd of December for the technician. Technician suppose to come to my home to replace the motherboard on 27th of December, didn't turn up and said he will be there 28th of December , didn't turn up, same thing happen 29th, didn't turn up.
So I was like I'll let them have more time. Some how technician turned up on 3rd of January. He replaced the motherboard and still got the same issue. It's not going past Alienware screen.
Now I'm annoyed. Contacted there customer service, I explained everything and lady said let me check the request and will get you an answer, I have to wait 30 minute on hold for this and she put the phone down. Next day I tried again, person said we are working on it. I was like ok. Next day I rang again and person picked up some how bit helpful. He said we will send you a new replacement. So he emailed his bosses to get approval on 4th Jan. I was waiting again and got reply back in 8th Jan saying they approved it. I was like ok lets wait and see. Today Is 10th of Jan still got no reply or nothing about what is happening.
Its been more than 1 month paid £3000 and still don't have working PC. I have to rely on my 10 year old laptop to do my work and other. This is how
atrocious Alienware is. Stay the F*** away from these nice people.
I would highly recommend going with Hp or Asus. I built my PC with Asus parts 3 years ago and didn't have single issue.
I've never had a worse experience…
I've never had a worse experience buying any kind of computer.
I purchased an Alienware M16 R1 laptop (AMD, GTX 4080). From day one it had issues. Constant Blue screens led to me contacting Dell support. After a lot of messing around (reinstalling the OS, running the stupid Dell pre-BIOS testing thing that never reveals anything useful) they eventually decide to replace the motherboard.
Not only did this not stop the constant Blue screens, the engineer managed to damage the laptop during the repair (scratching the case).
Eventually, the LCD starts flickering whenever the screen is moved. So, another request to Dell support. Yet again I am asked to run the pointless diagnostics and reinstall Windows. All for them to send out another engineer to replace the LCD unit.
At this point, they have basically given me an entirely new laptop. For the first time since I got it, the laptop is… just about… working as advertised. I’ve wasted an incredible amount of time, but at least it’s kind of working now.
But then - the latest problem is not specific to me. When I try to disable the hybrid graphics, I get the totally scrambled display described by other users on Reddit.
At least it's not specific to me this time...
Similar to other users, I get gaslit by Dell support who try to tell me that a completely scrambled BIOS screen after disabling the hybrid graphics is normal. I lost the will to live at the point they asked me to update my Windows graphics drivers (for a problem that happens in the BIOS). If that doesn’t spell out that you are dealing with someone who doesn’t know what they are talking about, I’m not sure what does.
The problems that have been specific to me and my machine are annoying, but almost excusable. I know that any big company is going to have dud hardware now and again. I was unlucky with either the motherboard or the LCD, and they replaced them both (eventually). Fair enough.
But as well as the specific and “one-off” problems, Alienware laptops also have lots of issue that are common to all of them. Check Reddit for numerous people having the same problems. It just feels like their products are shoddy, poorly designed and poorly tested. On top of that you also have the poor QC and dud components like I experienced.
All for a premium price.
Don't buy Alienware. I wanted one for years, and I could not regret it more. I've no idea what alternative to recommend but honestly- seriously - don't buy Alienware.
What an awful journey with a Alienware laptop
What an awful journey with a Alienware laptop, I have had sound issues that i have managed with resetting drivers every time a windows update comes in . 2K for a laptop that i can't use. Clearly from the internet research it just not me who is having the problem.
They spend an hour trying to fix this remotely then tell me I have to reinstall windows, done
Then tell me i have to send it off for a reinstallation on windows, comes back un updated clearly not been tested as soon as the updates are installed guess what its broken again.
I then get promised a replacement and this would take 24 hours now they are saying that its going to take 3 days to source a new machine, no email nothing and i am having to get in contact as there is very little communication. If this is how you run a company that will take your money and leave you without a 2k computer.
Now tech support are saying its nothing to do with them got to love Dell.
I am now requesting a refund and I will put the extra to a brand that I can trust.
Awful reliability new Alienware laptop
Awful reliability on a new £2300 Alienware laptop, three motherboards replaced still not reliable, no chance of a refund or upgrade replacement.
.. I will stay away from Dell/Alienware products going forward.
Absolutely atrocious do not buy…
Absolutely atrocious do not buy anything from this racket. Had my laptop for a month when I started to get blue screens. Called in to remote repair which they did. Unfortunately the blue screens resumed after a couple of weeks and sometimes the laptop doesn’t even turn on. Arranged a callback and asked for it to be returned and repaired or swapped out. The non UK remote adviser said that he didn’t have the authority to do that. Callback arranged the next day and surprise surprise no callback. This is the 2nd laptop I’ve had from Alienware that was faulty. The previous time my warranty was a day out when the motherboard stopped taking charge. AVOID!
Bought the Alienware aw3423dwf - had issues
Bought the Alienware aw3423dwf. Expensive screen and I have an issue with the fan being broken, making a horrible noise.
I took a video of the noise and was told this was "by design" and nothing they could do.
Never buy from Dell.
I bought an alienware r12 thinking it’s…
I bought an alienware r12 thinking it’s a solid choice. Paid over £2000 for it. 2 years later and it starts throwing only critical errors, I’m told I need to pay £300 to replace the motherboard, but given no guarantees this will fix the unit. When I voiced my frustration, I was told by the sales agent “well any electronical parts can fail” - thanks, that’s the confident boost I need!
Never touching Dell again.
The ALIENWARE AURORA RYZEN™ EDITION R10…
The ALIENWARE AURORA RYZEN™ EDITION R10 GAMING DESKTOP is an ubelievable joke
ALIENWARE AURORA R13
I purchased an Alienware Aurora R13 PC on 6th October 2022, supposed to be Alienware's flagship PC. What a joke! This machine has been mis-sold! The spec is a 12th Gen Intel Core i9 12900KF (16-Core, 30MB Cache, 3.2GHz to 5.2GHz w/Turbo Boost Max 3.0) NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 Ti 12GB GDDR6X and 32GB Dual Channel DDR5 at 4400MHz. I have been trying to get this to run at the speeds above - IMPOSSIBLE! The Alienware Command Center is appalling, the motherboard has no options for overclocking. The cooling is not sufficient either. Cinebench testing showed the processor running at 4.7Ghz for a few minutes, it then throttles down to 4.1Ghz due to overheating. Memory is running at 4400Mhz with no option in the BIOS to change? Errors all over the machine at point of first start, Killer Utility. AWCC, etc etc. DO NOT BUY THIS OR ANY OTHER ALIENWARE / DELL PRODUCT. Customer service would not help, once they knew I had passed the 14 day return policy they put the phone down on me. I own an Audio Visual rental company working within the corporate sector for the last 35 years delivering live events and currently own an extensive range of professional equipment. I will NEVER purchase or recommend any product from Alienware / Dell again.
What a Disgrace!!
I had so many issues with the laptop
I had so many issues with the laptop, literally every component was replaced under warranty, when the warranty expired it was very expensive to continue with, needless to say blue screen of death every day, many multiple issues, running super slow on easy games, random crashes, worst laptop ever do not buy
