I just got off a third chat!

I just got off a chat for the second time. I have initiated a huge $93K USD scam (3 parts) to the UK police as well. Totally useless! Not interested. They not only want you to supply an 11-month, day-by-day explanation on a 2x4 form before they consider it, but they also are not in the role of actually pursuing any crime regarding crypto NFT. If it is crypto in the UK, even with piling evidence, don't bother, they are not really there to help!!!

Now a couple more months later and have heard nothing. I chatted again in answer to the review reply. Nothing changed. They are not even willing to chase the fact these scammers are using official letterheads and logos from the UK court and customs. I have the proof but there has to be an interest on the other side. If they are not interested in that, they won't care about someone who lost thousands from these UK scammers in the U.S.

If you lost crypto funds dealing with the NFT marketplace, don't bother with this platform as you can't get help, whatever the real reason. They just don't have the resources, or perhaps not even the interest.

I am really to hear about your negative experience. We understand this a very frustrating process but Action Fraud is not an investigative body and therefore cannot guarantee or prompt a police investigation or advise you on the contents of your report.

All reports are sent to the National Fraud Intelligence Bureau (NFIB), part of the City of London Police. It is for the NFIB to decide what information is referred to Police Forces for investigation.

Every report made to Action Fraud provides information building a better picture of the scale of fraud that is happening, and to build up intelligence on fraud offences to aid police investigations and the development of counter-fraud initiatives. The more frauds reported, the more likely it is that related fraud reports will be matched and help identify lines of enquiry that can be pursued.

If a viable lead is not identified, the crime details are retained by the NFIB. Reports at the NFIB are assessed daily for viable leads and links to other criminality, the data you provided may link to another crime.

Incompetent

Incompetent systems, ask for further information but I cannot attach documentary proof to reports. Also, they lie. Despite inviting further information because report had (apparently) insufficient information to identify a line of enquiry, when pushed to allow evidence to be given (which they refuse to allow) they change their story and claim that there was sufficient information to make a judgement. This is lip service to fraud with a refusal to accept any evidence. Report made was of perjury and perversion of the course of justice involving losses of in excess of £100,000. Not surprising that fraud is on the increase in this country, the "authorities" really don't understand what they are doing and they refuse irrefutable evidence out of hand. Shameful organisation run by City of London Police (the NFIB).

Response to Action Fraud (AF) reply:
Email received from AF stated:
"based on the information currently available, it has not been possible to identify a line of enquiry"
and:
"if you have additional information about your crime which you believe could change the assessment, please log in to your account and submit that information"
I responded and said I wanted to send attachments, information that "could change the assessment" (THEIR words).
The reply was they could not accept attachments and therefore I was unable to give the further information THEY had requested. The last email I received from AF stated:
"the NFIB have said your report did not meet the criteria to pass on to a police force for investigation at this time".
So, the story changed and the first email I received from AF asking for further information was clearly a lie, they did NOT want further information.

Conclusion - do not take Action Fraud seriously. They do not have a system in place to allow the reporting of serious crime (in this case, a fraud amounting to in excess of £100,000). If they did have a system in place to take reports of fraud seriously, they would not just ask for "hearsay" (for that is all that their website asks for, and they limit the number of characters you can input), they would ask for proof in order to ensure that fraud is dealt with properly by the law. Action Fraud (unwittingly?? - I am giving them the benefit of the doubt) assist in the obstruction of the prosecution of serious crime. Based on the last message from them, the report made about this serious fraud involving misuse and abuse of the justice system is not being passed on to any police force and hence is going nowhere. Congratulations, AF and the NFIB, a criminal is being allowed to enjoy their ill-gotten gains with impunity.

FOOTNOTE: I REPORTED THIS FRAUD ON BEHALF OF A FRIEND WHO NOT ONLY HAS BEEN DEFRAUDED OF A SIGNIFICANT AMOUNT OF MONEY (HER INHERITANCE AND MORE) BUT ALSO HAD TO SUFFER THE DEVASTATION OF SEEING HER DECEASED MOTHER'S ASHES ANGRILY THROWN AWAY FOR FINANCIAL GAIN - THIS IS DOCUMENTED, A WRITTEN CONFESSION BY THE FRAUDSTER WHO SUBSEQUENTLY LIED IN COURT ABOUT THEIR ACTIONS AND MUCH MORE. ACTION FRAUD AND THE NFIB HAVE REFUSED THE DOCUMENTARY EVIDENCE OF ALL OF THIS, A FRAUD THROUGH MISUSE AND ABUSE OF THE JUSTICE SYSTEM. THEY SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF THEMSELVES, THEY ARE INHUMAN.

No use at all!

Cumbersome and useless - no wonder so many people don't bother to report fraud. I am the main carer for my 95-year-old father and explained that I did not have much time. Issues were left unresolved after an inordinate amount of time...and my father now has wet pants.

Action Fraud have been given the opportunity to contact me directly to discuss but, not unexpectedly, they have responded with yet another useless email.

Banging our heads against a brick wall

My father with dementia was scammed numerous times by evil cold callers selling useless household appliance insurance, setting up direct debits he didn’t know about. Just helping themselves to his hard earned money.
I thought that contacting action fraud would be the best thing to do.
All these firms are well known for victimising elderly people.
But after hours of frustrating time consuming form filling, apparently these firms do nothing illegal.
It’s pathetic, and we need to change the culture in this country where the elderly are treated as a cash cow for unscrupulous companies.
Totally understand the frustration of people who have had similar experiences with Action Fraud.

Something needs to be done - contact the media, and demand a crack down on these nasty scamming companies.Otherwise we are just banging our head against a brick wall.

I was robbed and actionfraud didnt want to contact the company keeping the thiefs information even after providing the email and company details

A couple months ago I was robbed and a money laundering service called FixedFloat was used to cover up the hackers trail. Representatives of FixedFloat said they'd only work with authorities so I provided all the details which includes contact information (email, company name, website) of FixedFloat to actionfraud. The response I got was "couldn't establish a viable line of enquiry"...what does that even mean... as if a company name, email, phone number and website isn't enough for actionfraud to know where to start. Even representatives of FixedFloat confirmed that the thief used their platform but refused to share any details. I responded to actionfraud repeating the contact details and that FixedFloat would only share details of the thief with authorities but actionfraud decided not to respond the 2nd time...a couple months later someone from actionfraud called to ask how my experience with their service was and that they dont have any control over the case, they just want to know how im doing (at this point i feel like swearing).

Here's my response, the UK is in such a messed up state that they only go after major crime, individuals being robbed aren't high enough on their radar unless you're famous or extremely wealthy (in the latter case you get a lawyer as any government service doesnt care about anything other than getting our tax money). It seems not just police but also actionfraud will turn a blind eye to crime even if you hand them evidence which includes contact details on a silver plate. If they're too busy they won't bother looking into your case (why can't they just delay handling it? No idea...this place has become lawless, petty theft has no repercussions)

I am sorry to hear about your recent experience.

Whilst we cannot comment on individual reports, please be advised that the Action Fraud service helps many victims of crime dealing with in excess of 50,000 crime and information reports per month.

Fraud is the fastest-growing crime in the UK and as such there will be occasions where offenders cannot be identified or offenders based outside the UK, that criminal justice outcomes are not always achievable.

While not all reports have sufficient information or leads to prompt distribution to a police force, many thousands do. Fraudsters are being brought to justice as a result of Action Fraud and the work of the City of London Police and forces across the country.

Thank you for your feedback,

What a crap website

What a crap website. Cannot even report a simple SMS text fraud without first creating an account and then filling in irrelevant information that most people will not be able to complete.
How do we know if the fraudster is an invidual or a company when it's a text message scam? It even asks for the fraudster's details as if I would know. WTF.

There was also no victim since I didn't fall for the scam but this information is still mandatory.

I went through half the process and gave up because it wouldn't allow submission of the report because I didn't fill in a landline number (which I don't have). Pointless waste of tax payer money.

They made it an uphill struggle to report such simple scams so no wonder most people don't report anything.

Action Fraud reports are sent to the National Fraud Intelligence Bureau (NFIB) which is run by the City of London Police, the national lead force for fraud. The NFIB collates intelligence from these reports, and puts all information received to the most effective use possible, either through enforcement, disruption or prevention activity.

The information you have provided may enable the police to take action to disrupt the activities of suspected criminals. This activity can be in the form of requests to suspend or take down Fraudulent websites or email accounts, Telephone numbers, and Bank accounts or foreign currency exchange accounts.

It can take time for disruption requests to be fully processed, so please be assured that this activity is in progress and that no further action is required on your part. You should not hear from us again in relation to this case, unless further analysis by the NFIB links your report to another crime in the future, in which case we will contact you to provide details of that referral.

Thank you again for taking the time to report and helping us to make the UK a more hostile place for fraudsters to operate in.

These lot are a bigger fraud than the fraudsters

Conman used a fake banking app and call centre to make it appear as though funds were being transferred to my account for the purchase of a laptop. I also have the phone of the perpetrator in my possession but this was still not deemed sufficient for a line of enquiry. Basically a waste of time and evidence that in the UK fraud is fair play and not in the interest of the authorities to tackle. My advice is to save your time and take matters in to your own hands as these lot will do nothing to help you

NFRC240906879937

On 5 July 2024 the Labour Prime Minister Keir Starmer hailed his win as historic, saying: “Change begins now” and further saying, he will lead a “government of service” on a “mission of national renewal” and promised to "rebuild Britain."

Six months later, change has not yet come to the UK’s national reporting centre for fraud and cybercrime, Action Fraud, an entity with no apparent mission and no accountability.

On 11 September 2024 I contacted Action Fraud regarding a matter involving £47.5 Million Pounds Sterling and the HM Treasury, Revenue & Customs [Cryptocurrency Recovery Division] London UK.

The response was a message that my enquiry had been assigned NFRC240906879937.

A further response? Nil.

A declared outcome to my request for an investigation of unethical behaviour by HM Treasury? Nil

This is a pathetic outcome.

Do I contact the parliamentary wing of government, or do I speak with the UK tabloid press about this alleged gross injustice?

It takes crime and information reports on behalf of the police and gives advice and fraud prevention guidance. Action Fraud and the National Fraud Intelligence Bureau (NFIB), also run by the City of London Police, do not have investigative powers. The reports taken by Action Fraud are sent to our colleagues in the NFIB which is responsible for collating and analysing intelligence on fraud, identifying any leads that would result in a successful criminal investigation and developing packages for distribution to a force for investigation.

Due to the volume of reports received by Action Fraud there is a high demand on our services which has impacted our response timescales. Whilst we endeavour to provide an update to a report within 28 days, it is not always possible to do so as the report may be still under review by the NFIB.

We will provide update on a report once it has been reviewed. The victim will receive notification of the outcome of this review as soon as it is practical to do so. If the report is sent to a police force for investigation, the victim will be told which force it has gone to. If a victim has registered on the new Action Fraud website they will be able to track the progress of their report online.

Thank you very much.

Action fraud covering up Fraud since my last review about Action fraud they have still haven't bothered to look at my case despite making a written complaint to them complaint dated 22nd Nov 2024 reference number NFRC240706759101 ...they just don't care and can't be bothered to investigate any fraud. So don't bother reporting any fraud to them they will just tell you that Fraud is not a police matter or a criminal matter that's just a very poor excuse to do nothing because they just can't be bothered they are just a waste of time. so if you have been a victim of fraud or any crime you are wasting your time reporting it if Action fraud or the police won't even look into it for you just take the law into your own hands it's the only way to get justice it's up to you if you do it....because of Action fraud and the police not doing anything I have lost a large sum of money and will never get it back I haven't even got the money to sue them for covering up Fraud

Action Fraud is not an investigative body and therefore cannot guarantee or prompt a police investigation or advise you on the contents of your report.
