I booked an appointment a week in advance for a technician to come out to give my car a diagnostic.

The tech was scheduled to arrive between 7:30a - 9:30a. The appointment time slot came and passed and the technician never arrived or didn't call to me.

I called Wrench customer service to see the status of my appointment and they begun to explain to me that they had to cancel my appointment because they didn't have a technician available to see me that day.

I asked why no one made me aware of the cancellation because Wrench charges a $50 cancellation fee to customers who cancel appointments with less than 24 hrs of notice.

She went on to say they hire independent contractors who work for Wrench even though they aren't a Wrench employee and they do have Wrench employees who service cars. And this independent contractor (tech) must have left the company yesterday because he was in their system yesterday.

I'm listening to her explaining their staffing issues to me and told her their staffing and who they employ is all irrelevant to me when I'm paying Wrench for a scheduled service appointment that I've adjusted my schedule (loss time at work) for a tech to arrive.

The lack of the cancellation notification and that they couldn't send someone to service me is VERY UNPROFESSIONAL.

With the notice of a cancellation I could have planned to have had my car repaired with another repair facility.

They do not honor warranty on their repairs.

Had alternator replaced by them after dealership quoted over double what wrench did. I requested an OEM alternator be installed, found out later it wasn’t. They replaced the alternator all was fine for about 3 months, the same issue came up again. Took it into the shop and they said the battery was good and the alternator was bad.

When i called to have the refurbished alternator replaced under warranty they came out and deemed it to not be the alternator and then charged 150$ to diagnose another issue(which you’re required to pay if they say it’s not the warrantied item). I replaced the “diagnosed” part… 133$ down the drain… and the issue remained, called back they said it’d be another 150$ if they came and still determined it wasn’t the alternator, gave up and deleted my wrench account…

Long story short don’t bother, they might be okay for handyman type stuff but aren’t real mechanics and wrench.com doesn’t stand behind their guarantees/warranties. I would never call them again to touch my car, and I’m no Karen.

The mechanic spilled oil all over the garage when I offered the garage instead of the driveway to come in from the cold. He said he's worked on TDIs before but needed to go to Harbor Freight to get a tool to get the filter off. But the real insidious part was Wrench.com. Not being able ro select an option that allowed me to use my own oil & filter. I put it in the notes that what I wanted was my own not theirs. Then called to confirm. The woman said we will charge you more if you buy your own parts. I flipped out and then she said the mechanic will resolve the parts issue with you. My mistake, the guy said he can't do anything about the price. They charged me for both the labor- $10 more than their competitor and the parts that I had bought. This place is a rip off!

I've had two services with wrench.com. The second service didn't turn out exactly I was hoping but the mechanic was knowledgeable enough to know that the service I requested was not going to fix the vehicle. The convenience of having a mechanic come out to your home to fix your vehicle is what brought me to them.

Live and learn, right? So, I ended up throwing $500 out the window because I did not know that if Wrench doesn't check something to see if it works or not, they just replace. I was told my alternator needed replacement, but after the wrench employee did that was when I was told nothing was wrong with my alernator, it was the starter. If this is a service you NEED to use, be SURE of what needs fixing prior. I wasn't going to waste my time arguing with the mechanic, I wanted to know what I needed to do to get my car fixed. I wouldn't use this service again. Am I supposed to know your business model and how you work PRIOR to use?

Don't do it. Called them out to fix a starter issue on my truck that was stuck at work (2hrs from my home). They came the next day and confirmed it was the starter but said they couldn't work on it due to it being a 10hr job. They told me I needed to tow it to a local shop, and they'd work on it there. I ended up towing it home and spent 3 hours replacing the part WITHOUT A SHOP. I spent $150 for them to tell me what I already knew was the issue, and for them to tell me they couldn't do the only thing they exist for, to be a mobile mechanic. DO NOT DO IT.

No Notice, No Show.
Do not use this service. Had an 11 a.m. appointment scheduled three days in advance. Wrench canceled my appointment claimjng they could not do the job. NO NOTICE AT ALL THAT WRENCH CANCELED MY APPOINTMENT. Wrench caused me to lose days that I could have been looking for another repair service. Worst part. The representative I talked played the situation off like it is a regular occurrence. Do not use this unprofessional service. Very poor.

Worst $150 I ever paid. My car had a message "Engine power reduced". I replaced my MAP sensor, but it did not go away. So I called them. When the guy put his scanner on, and started the car, all kind of gage movements were happening. Even my head lights would go off and on. I told him it was not doing that yesterday. At the end he says that the car computer must have gone bad. It was lunch time, so I headed back to work. When I cam in the evening, I started up the car. All is normal like it was before his scanner was put on. I am still getting the same original message. Waisted time and money for nothing. They are not real mechanics, more like handy man. Not worth $150 at all.

I have a car that needs a jump to get it started, and when the engine is off, it would require a jump to get it going again. Therefore, I think the battery needs to be replaced. The mechanic from wrench.com, an automobile mobile repair service, came to my home promptly and appeared like a friendly guy. However, after a 10-minute diagnostic, he said the bad battery would need to be replaced. I was a little disappointed because I had expected him to do a more thorough diagnostic to rule other things out, but for $135, he came to tell me that I needed a new battery, which I already knew. Btw, the battery was only no more than two years old. He also failed to look at the check engine light I had requested. When I pointed this out to him, he said, “since the car is off, I can’t check it.” Really dude??? He didn’t even make an effort to try to get the car jumped and get the engine started. After all this, he quoted $489 to replace the battery. Wow, seriously? Again, I was displeased and told him I could get this replaced for at least half that price elsewhere and that I would not be using his service.

The only reason I had decided to use wrench.com in the first place was that they advertised their services as more cost-effective because they have no added overhead costs compared to traditional brick-and-mortar businesses. Because of this, they don’t have to spend money on added overhead costs; therefore, they can pass these savings on to the customer. I can tell you from first-hand experience that this is all BS. I
I probably will not be using wrench.com anymore.

DON'T call these people! My quote was $259.83. The job turned out to be $525.53. I was not asked, I was not advised, my card was just charged for more than twice. I have been fighting it for almost a month. I'm looking at small claims court and a complaint with the FCC.

The locksmith quote was 225 but a two week wait. I went with Wrench because they could come the next day. I should have waited.

Do not use this horrible service. Mechanic changed unauthorized parts and added unauthorized charges and to add insult to injury, my wife's car still didn't start. Still waiting for someone to call me back after calling numerous times and left multiple emails for a refund on unauthorized charges

Had a 1pm appointment booked, re arranged my whole day for what i was told would be a two hour repair. waited until 1:30 pm no one showed up, called and was then told my appointment had been cancelled because it was not a repair they could do. No notice whatsoever, just a no show.

I used wrench once before and had a great experience, my second time, not so much. I first set up the appointment for a time slot their website allowed me to choose only to be called later to say that wasn't available. So I went through the appointment scheduler again and chose the next week. I had a family emergency that led me to be late and I had messaged them asking if there was something that could be done but was ignored. No phone calls from their support until I received an email today stating my appointment had been canceled (a week later!) and that I was charged a $50 cancellation fee.
