Love their potatoes! I live in Idaho and cannot find non gmo organic seed potatoes locally. So I get it from these guys. They ship fast too.

Appreciate your business, Idahoan. We're dismayed to see genetically-engineered potatoes are now being grown and sold in the United States. We're very informed on the topic, and helped Maine pass the second-in-the-nation GMO Labeling Law. We are strongly opposed to GE crops. We will never grow them. We will never sell them. You can count on us for all your non-GMO seed needs. Jim
I can't say anything much about this… but -
I can't say anything much about this season's crop because the seed potatoes just went into the ground. But, speaking from the last few years, and being married to the daughter of a former Maine potato farmer who knows things, the potatoes from Wood Prairie Farm are delicious, and we have found they store well almost until the next crop goes in the ground.
Who could ask for anything more?,,,but

However, after many years of growing them side-by-side with 'King Harry' we think the balance tips towards King Harry, especially with its incredible natural insect resistance. Just recently purchased Elba potatoes…
Just recently purchased Elba potatoes for our farm, we are growing this variety and a few others mainly for ourselves and for our farmers market. They arrived quickly and in excellent condition and we planted them a day or so later. Haven't seen any foliage sprouting yet compared to our other 2 varieties we planted, probably because the sprouts on them were still small. Not knowing how this is going to turn out at harvest time I refrained from giving 5 stars, however I am completely satisfied with my order, thank you.

Thanks, Apple Haven. We manage our potato crop so the tubers will be in tip top condition for the ten-month period we have them available for sale and shipping (Sept through 4th of July). We try to prolong tuber dormancy which will give you the highest vigor and yields. As a result, some varieties do take a little while to wake up in the Spring. But once you see the sprout appear in the eyes they will grow like gang busters! Jim

A first time buyer and although I am a very experienced gardener I don't have much knowledge of potatoes, so I bought a sampler. Arrived quickly, adorably arranged in small box, much like a coveted chocolate assortment! I planted using an above ground container method. Can't wait to see how they'll turn out!

Potatoes from Wood Prairie Family Farm
I have purchased potatoes from Wood Prairie Family Farm, two years in a row now. They send wonderful, healthy seed potatoes, and they carry my favorite potato, called Caribe. Only place I can find it now. I hope they will eventually carry the Sangre potato as I am having difficulty finding it now.
I highly recommend purchasing potato starts from this company. I know you won't be disappointed.

We agree with you that Caribe' is a fantastic potato, Angie! It was bred nearby in Fredericton, NB by our friend, Dr. Hielke De Jong, now retired, but back in the day, a Potato Breeder for AgCanada. It's the only variety that we've said "should be planted in every garden." Jim

Looking to order in late Spring
Looking to order late in season -- in mid-May -- I thought I'd be in trouble finding seed-stock, and some other companies I checked online were indeed, all sold out -- but Wood Prairie had almost everything they offer still in stock! Delivery took only a few days, and the quality of the potatoes are better than anything I've seen from anywhere else -- perfectly sized, and very nicely preserved. Thanks, and will definitely be ordering again in future!
