Unbelievably quick service
Unbelievably quick service. Our tank had run out over the weekend and I rang first thing Monday morning and the oil arrived by midday! Everybody from the phone operator to the driver were super. And that even after I had asked them to match another quote. I always try to support the local firm and with Western Fuel I have never been disappointed.

Buyer beware
As a long standing customer, I looked up the price per litre on Western Fuel's own website: I was given a price of 60.5p a litre. On ringing Western Fuel to enquire about the price and possibly place an order, they quoted 69.3p a litre! Almost a £90 difference on my potential order ..needless to say, I went elsewhere as I felt they were profiteering from customers who for whatever ever reason do not have access to the internet. Come on Western Fuel, this was your own website and your own telephone number....do better and meanwhile, buyer beware, do your homework!

Our online pricing is automated and allows us to group deliveries efficiently across the areas we cover from our seven local depots. This helps us offer the best possible value at that time for customers placing and paying for their orders upfront through the website.
Telephone orders, on the other hand, include a more tailored service based on pricing on the day to suit individual requirements and busy schedules. These orders also carry additional operational and administrative costs, including credit terms and staff input, which are reflected within the pricing.
That said, we always aim to be as fair and competitive as possible, and we’re more than happy to review pricing where we can to help our customers.

Awful customer services!
I organised a new tank to be fitted be western Fuels, they quoted, I accepted and paid a £1000 deposit on the same day, they came two weeks later and the minute the fitter left I sent over the remaining £1600, 5-6 days later I get a blank email apart from in big bold red letters to pay the remainder even though I had sent it several days earlier, no name on the email, no niceties, just red bold letters to pay! I emailed back as soon as I received the email and simply said that I had already paid and that I did not appreciate the very quick unnecessary email for a reminder to do something I had already done and again several days later, I've received nothing back, no apology, no gratitude for paying so quickly! The fitter did a great job, but customer services needs a lot of work before I would consider recommending this company to anyone else!

We’re extremely sorry, however, for the experience you had with the follow-up communication. Please be assured this isn’t the level of service we strive to provide. Unfortunately, as your account was newly set up, the deposit payment wasn’t correctly allocated to your final invoice, which triggered the automated payment reminder email.
We fully understand how frustrating this must have been, especially after you had settled the balance so promptly. We’re currently reviewing both the process and the wording of these reminder emails to ensure this doesn’t happen again and that our communication is clearer and more considerate in future.

Amazing Company to deal with
Amazing Company to deal with, easy to place an order on the website, great communications to tell me firstly the date they are arriving, then confirmation they have delivered, drivers are excellent, no fuss, nothing is too much trouble, this is my 3rd order in a village just outside Bridgwater, will never use anyone else, completely hassle free from start to finish. Rayburn Service
Having found it difficult to find a company/engineer who was willing to service my Rayburn.
I recently had mine serviced by Mark O assisted by Harry from Western Fuel. They were amazing, very thorough, particular and very knowledgable.
I would highly recommend to use this company to service your Rayburn/Aga. Lots of other local companies no longer want to service these appliances so it was very reassuring to find a company and engineers who are passionate and enthusiastic about their business and the service they provide.

Polite and efficient
Harry, who came to service my boiler was polite and efficient. I was kept informed during his visit as to what he was doing the parts he had fitted and why he had fitted them. Advice on safety issues and regulation.
All in all a very good experience of a trades man carrying out an annual visit.

Western Fuel boiler service quote,nearly doubled !
My family and I have used Western Fuel to supply our heating oil for many years, with no problems. Last year I contacted Western fuel for a quote to service a oil central heating boiler at a property I rent out, for its first service, and the work was done at the quoted price and all was fine.
But this year I rang to get a quote and was told £145.00 labour plus parts and labour. The previous year this came to £183.60 including the labour parts and VAT.
On the day the engineer arrived at about 2pm to do the service he met the tenant ,and started the work but he was still there at about 7pm and I asked the tenant what was going on, she thought the engineer was very nice, but did not seem to know exactly what he was doing ,and he had found a faulty part that would be delt with under guarantee.
A while later I received the bill for the service, a total of £483.12 !!
The labour alone was £270.00 plus Vat £324,00. Nearly double what I had been quoted !
There was no itemisation of the parts ,and I had had no contact from Western Fuel, that it was going to be much more than I had been quoted, so I rang the company for an explanation. I asked to speak to a manager who said that the engineer had been given the work the go ahead, by the tenant, something she completely denies, and the manager said they had to go by the tenant ,to which I said , so if a tenant who is not paying for the work asks for a complete heating system they have to do it do they?. Obviously this is rubbish. The manager told me they had not fitted the faulty part, and that I could get the boiler supplier to fit it. In other words he had charged me £483.12 for a service and left it to me to sort out.
So be careful ,if you use Western fuel to give you a quote for a job ,it might come to much ,much more than they quote you, without them even ringing you,and when you complain you get a ridiculous answer from the manager. I paid the bill but beware.
The engineer from the boiler manufacturer, fitted the faulty part under guarantee.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We’re sorry to hear that you were dissatisfied with your recent experience, and we’d like to clarify a few important points regarding the service carried out.
Firstly, the original quote provided for the annual service charge was correct and in line with our standard pricing — this included the standard service labour rate and any serviceable parts typically required are always added on top as the parts required vary on each service.
However, while our engineer was on site, it became clear that the boiler — a Navien model — required additional time to complete the work effectively due to a blockage within the system. Also, you're likely aware, parts for Navien boilers are significantly more expensive than average, and this contributed to the overall increase in the final bill. All parts used were strictly necessary for the service and were not outside of what would be expected for a comprehensive annual service on this type of unit.
Additionally, the engineer identified a separate fault that should be covered under the manufacturer’s warranty. This was communicated directly to the tenant at the time, and the matter was also documented and logged on our end accordingly to be passed back to the agent dealing with your property. No work outside of the service scope was undertaken in relation to the faulty component.
As for the labour charge, the only additional cost beyond the standard service rate was due to the extended time required to ensure the tenant was not left without heating or hot water — something we considered essential. Despite the work continuing well into the evening, we charged only our standard hourly rate, with no emergency or out-of-hours surcharge applied.
We understand your concerns regarding authorisation; however, at no point was the tenant asked to authorise any major or chargeable work beyond the scope of the agreed service. All additional work was directly related to the servicing itself and ensuring basic functionality for the tenant. As this was booked through an estate agent the engineer had very limited contact details to get any go ahead outside of office hours.
We always strive to be transparent and fair, and we are sorry if our communication did not meet your expectations in this instance. Please rest assured that we take customer feedback seriously and will continue to review our internal processes to ensure clarity and satisfaction for all parties involved.

Great customer support
We have used this company for our oil supply for a number of years. The team are always polite and helpful. Last year we started to use the Boiler Service Team for our Aga. Again, the team are polite and do all they can to get us booked in quickly, especially if our Aga is playing up! Matt our Service Engineer is great and keeps our Aga in great working order. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend this company ✨️

Poor customer experience.
Oil ordered placed and I received a email and text to say its coming on a Friday. I waited until 2pm and asked for an update to be advised they had run out of fuel on their tanker. Caller didn’t seem bothered and said the oil will rescheduled sometime next week. I was not impressed. When they did deliver they charged me an extra ten pounds as they could not get in the full amount into my tank. So they cost me a day's salary as I need to be home for tank access and they bill me ten pounds? Very unreasonable and petty indeed. Based on the principle of them messing me about and them taking ten quid out of my account they get 2 stars.

When my usual boiler service engineer retired
When my usual boiler service engineer retired I contacted Westernfuels to see if they knew of someone that they could recommend. I was surprised to find that they offered a complete range of support services for their customers. Their own "in house" technicians have proved to be courteous, knowledgeable and capable. They were able to explain clearly and logically what parts would be needed for preventative maintenance and completed the task on the same day. I am now reassured that my boiler will function well during the coming winter and I can rely on prompt attention should there be any malfunctions. I found the costs were reasonable and explained clearly.

Got home to let Harry in.
Listened to my boiler told me exactly what was wrong!
