Heating fuel at agreed price!
We have just had a fuel delivery, postponed because of driver absence but the price per litre remained the same when it could have easier been increased! So well done Western fuels, great service and customer care as always.

Western fuel are an excellent local…
Western fuel are an excellent local company who have supplied the local area in Somerset at excellent prices for many years. Just prior to the present war in the Middle East we placed an order for heating oil that has just been delivered. It would appear from the news that some companies are profiting from the huge increase in the cost per barrel of oil and cancelling contracts. Western held their quoted price for which we are extremely grateful.Great service from a local company who understand how important it is to have a loyal customer base. They repay this by great service at a very fair price. Well done Western Fuel.

We completely understand how frustrating price increases can be, particularly when the change is as significant as it has been in a short space of time. To put it in real perspective we have had increases of over 41ppl over the past 3 days with no idea if the market will rise further, settle or fall. Please be assured that we are working incredibly hard during what is currently a period of peak demand with massive uncertainty, driven by the situation in Iran and the resulting pressures on global supply. Our priority throughout this time will be to ensure that every order we commit to including those priced last week are completed as agreed.
We can only offer prices based on the rates at which we are able to secure supply. These costs have risen sharply, and unfortunately that is reflected in the pricing. It’s worth noting that at the time of your original quote, our price was, as you mentioned, well below £1 per litre, while many other suppliers were already significantly above this level or not quoting at all. We have also taken care not to overcommit on orders at unsustainable prices, as some suppliers have done, which may ultimately result in non-delivery for their customers when we are looking at a potential dip in temperatures over the coming weeks.
If you’re not comfortable with the current price, we completely respect that decision. Our honest advice would be to wait and monitor the market until you feel the price is at a level you’re happy with.

Six stars if I could.
I would just like to thank Western Fuel for doing a fantastic job. I had a new base and oil tank installed which took 3 days. The team of Noah, Dan, Mino and Harry were superb and worked so tidy. They suggested about changing the tank and moving the base so that it conformed to building regs. This saved me money and looks so much better so thank you again. If you want a professional company and at competitive rates give them a call. I lost £1150 by someone who did a really bad job but Western Fuel have sorted it out. I get my oil and they do my boiler service and I will not be going anywhere else.

Poor administration and customer service
Paid online for my oil delivery in Dec 2025 then by phone separately paid for a tank sponge, which I was assured would be on the delivery vehicle. It was not. Then in Jan 2026 I received a reminder and final warning for payment of the oil. I told them they had made a mistake and asked when was my tank sponge going to be delivered and fitted. No reply so I had to call. Then I was sent an email stating tank sponge delivery was imminent - only received about an hour notice. When once again it didn't arrive I called again to be told the delivery had been cancelled, the reason was unknown to the agent. I had not been notified. Hard to believe the good reviews elsewhere as my experience has been extremely poor admin and customer service with no apology offered for their accusation/final warning of non payment.

We’re sorry for the incorrect reminders regarding payment for your December oil delivery. This should not have happened, and I understand how disappointing it must have been to receive this after you had already paid in full.
With regard to the tank sponge, this was an unfortunate oversight. Our lorries can only carry a limited number of tank sponges and additives due to space restrictions on the tanker, and during a particularly busy period the vehicle attending your delivery had not been restocked. This should have been identified and communicated to you clearly at the time.
Tank sponges are an excellent tool for reducing condensation build-up within oil tanks. Over time, excess condensation can lead to water contamination, which may cause issues with boiler performance and reliability, so we fully appreciate why you were keen to have this fitted promptly.
Thank you for bringing these matters to our attention. Your feedback is taken seriously, and we will be reviewing our processes to prevent a repeat of this situation. Please be assured that we are keen to resolve this properly and restore your confidence in our service. -JW
Be very cautious!
Ordered oil in December, a failed delivery due to access which was promptly resolved. Then they just didnt turn up, days they said they would deliver then didnt even attempt this which went on for a month. On days we were told that the delivery was due we were at home and waiting for this to happen, ensuring there would be no issued, only to be notified that they would not deliver to my property leaving me low on oil and having to arrange an emergency delivery at a much higher cost. Extremely poor service.
I would like to add to my review as the reply is incorrect. There was only one incident of you being unable to deliver and evidence has only been provided for that time. Every time I was advised that a redelivery was due, I was vigilliant with access, I was always at home and my office overlooks my garden and I saw noone enter my garden, I had no knock on my door. My original order was on 17th December and now I am dangerously low on oil, I dare not turn on my heating as I work from home I am freezing.

The delays were not due to any unwillingness to deliver, but arose from issues involving the third-party company the order was placed through, which will lead to delays in communication. The initial delivery attempt was unsuccessful because access to the property was blocked. Following this, we were unable to reattempt delivery until authorisation was provided, as approval is required before a further attempt can be made. This unfortunately caused additional delays outside of our direct control.
When a second attempt was arranged, the driver had to abort the delivery on site due to obstructions in the garden, specifically dog mess that prevented the safe pulling of the delivery hose. For safety and hygiene reasons, the driver was unable to proceed under those conditions.
We fully understand how stressful it is to be low on oil, particularly during the winter months, and we regret that the situation resulted in the need to arrange an emergency delivery elsewhere. We strive to provide a reliable service and are sorry that, in this case, a combination of access issues, safety concerns, and third-party processes led to a poor experience.
For urgent or potentially problematic deliveries, we would always recommend dealing directly with us, as this allows you to speak directly with the team arranging your delivery and helps issues to be resolved more quickly. - JW

We ordered oil through Boiler Juice who used Western Fuels to supply it. They delivered 10 days late with no explanation for the delay. We ran out of oil. Both Western Fuels and Boiler Juice denied any liability and refused to compensate us

Having reviewed our records, the delivery was one day later than scheduled, not ten days as stated. The short delay was caused by an unexpected lorry breakdown, which was unfortunately outside of our control.
We appreciate that any delay can be inconvenient, and we regret the disruption this caused. That said, we take great pride in the reliability of our service, and a one-day delay is not reflective of a prolonged service failure.
As your order was placed via a third-party supplier, it is subject to the terms and conditions agreed to at the time of ordering. Delivery times, liability, and compensation arrangements can vary when ordering through third parties, and these terms are set by the supplier rather than ourselves.
If you believe the delivery details above are incorrect, or if there is additional information we may not be aware of, please do let us know. We would be more than happy to investigate further, as maintaining our service standards is extremely important to us.

The Venezuelan effect?
What a shame. Having checked prices on Jan 4th, my neighbours and I, three customers, were about to place orders (which means the vehicle only travels from depot to village once, a 68 mile round trip), this morning, the 5th, and they're now the most expensive supplier by some margin. 3 customers, all within 100 yards of each other, disappointed.

Because our pricing is linked to live stock prices and availability, it can change throughout the day. If you see a price you’re happy with, we would always recommend placing the order at that point, the website will hold that price for 15 minutes while you complete checkout. Unfortunately, once that window passes, any new order is subject to the current live rate.
At this time of year, prices can be particularly volatile due to increased seasonal demand along with events around the globe. To ensure supply and our ability to fulfil orders, we often have to purchase additional fuel at higher rates, and these increases are reflected in our prices. While it may sometimes feel like a dramatic jump, it’s mainly driven by market conditions and supply.
We do appreciate customers coordinating deliveries where possible, and it’s genuinely regrettable that the price change prevented that on this occasion. I’m sorry we weren’t able to offer a competitive rate the following day, but prices do move both up and down, so it’s always worth keeping an eye on them.

Kameron handled our boiler maintenance excellently and discovered water in the tank, suggesting it would need attention soon. We chose to upgrade with a new tank and base, and Noah visited promptly to assess our requirements. Both Kameron and Noah represent Western Fuel exceptionally well; their expertise and customer service are top-notch.

I telephoned on Friday afternoon , to be told someone would call back… that didn’t happen..I rang on Monday first thing as I had no heating or hot water .. It was a very cold weekend…
An engineer came Tuesday …. Managed to give me hot water but no heating more parts needed.. Matt returned did an amazing job..
I would like this company to have a vulnerability register.. This would enable the elderly at risk anyone with a disability where heating and hot water essential.
If big companies an offer this , it s something I would like this company to consider..

Wouldnt recommend
Had my boiler serviced, which was running perfectly prior to service. The next day it stopped working and had to call them back out. Was told a different part had failed so had to have it replaced. I said it was a bit of a coincidence it happened the day after the service and was told it’s just one of those things. So another large bill was paid! The next week the boiler stopped working again and wasn’t charged for the call out but only after a big battle and assistance from Dan, who was great. Told I needed another different part, which they never got in, even after me calling to check & them confirming they would chase the order. So no boiler working for 2 weeks. Got a different company to replace boiler as totally lost confidence in western fuels customer service & work. Wouldn’t recommend.

When we attend a boiler for the first time with no service history, it can be very difficult to anticipate any underlying issues that may have been developing beforehand. The routine service we carried out was completed correctly, but unfortunately what you were told is accurate — after long periods of minimal use, parts can fail as soon as the heating is switched back on for the winter. These issues are often not present or not noticeable during the final period of use the previous season.
We always recommend booking annual servicing during the summer months. This gives time to ensure the boiler is running smoothly before it’s needed again and helps avoid unexpected breakdowns and callouts at the start of the colder months along with the usual delays on parts for older boilers which aren’t generally carried in stock by local merchants.
We’re also assuming that the other service company came to a similar conclusion but opted for a full replacement rather than attempting further repairs — which is always our final option due to the significant costs involved. That said, we’re glad you now have a new boiler installed and are back warm and comfortable during this cold period.
