Avoid. The return policy is a joke. If you buy online, prepare to ship back at your own expense after having to take pictures of the items and lots of email correspondence. If you buy in store you only have 10 days to get your money back (yes, even during a pandemic). They are willing to find any loophole to keep your money. I purchased a lunch box in store today and was told at checkout it’s “final sale” because it’s “factory sealed”. Only moments before another employee was taking those lunchboxes out of the packages to show customers the functions…errrr okay…
Products also have huge mark-ups compared to similar retailers. If you shop here make sure you’re not getting ripped off. I bought some toys and essentials only to see that they were nearly double the cost of similar stores. Overall negative experiences online and in store (Leaside). Whilst in store I literally saw 3 other people having meltdowns at the cash register about lack of service and horrendous return policies.
Just don’t do it and go to buybuybaby.
one of the worst experiences
It’s one of the worst experiences I’ve had in years. I bought a stroller from the that cost more than $1000 but it was broken. When I contacted them they told me to go to the manufacturer and they’re unwilling to help. It was better off for me to buy it from other online stores that at least know how to talk to an unsatisfied customer and know how to win them back. They should have closed a long time ago.
VEER WAGON
I PURCHASED A 1000 $ WAGON AND WHILE IT IS STILL IN THE SHIPPERS HANDS I NOTICED A PROMOTION FOR A CANAPY AND A 100 GIFT CARD WITH PURCHASE. THEY FLAT OUT REFUSED TO OFFER THIS TO ME . WILL NEVER SPEND ANOTHER CENT IN THE COMPANY
Do not buy online
Love their products but at least the one time experience I have buying online from them have been so frustrating. Ordered a car seat 18 days ago, no update on the order status, customer service I guess they try to do what they can but they do not provide you with accurate information. Told me I would receive an email with my tracking number and still waiting for it (a week already) tried to buy ahead of time so I didn't have to rush things before my baby come. I contacted them a second time, but apparently is their supplier who haven't sent any update on the order (still no tracking number or any idea of when the products are going to be shipped.) Wasted my time, my money and having a stressful last weeks of pregnancy.
Will not replace broken merchandise
I ordered a mobile from their online store. The mobile arrived broken. I then called their customer service line and was told they would not send me a replacement product. Instead they are forcing me to go through the manufacturer in order to beg for a replacement mobile. This is awful customer service. I could understand if I had had the mobile for months before it broke, but it was broken out of the box. This company will not stand behind the products they sell. After reading other's reviews I discovered this is a common problem. It is a real shame. I would have loved to have continued supporting a small Canadian chain, but if I expect items to be replaced it is clear to me, that the big box stores will offer me better service.
Don't buy in this store
Don't buy in this store. I purchased many items in this store. The crib, the dresser, the recliner were supposed to be deliver within 9 to 12 weeks (just before the delivery of my kids).
Every time I called, I received different information.
After 13 weeks, I asked to talk to a manager, and they told me that the items were scheduled to be produce at the factory next week...
Week 16, the items are finally in Vancouver, and ask me to come pick up. They told me that they do not deliver. However, they charged me $110, for the delivery lol. After, a discussion, they agreed to deliver but want to change me an extra to assemble the items. When I purchased, they told me that my items will be delivred AND assembled...
In summary, don't purchase there and do not beleive what they tell you. It is very difficult to have accurate information.
Online Order
Ordered a stroller/car seat combo online. Received it 2 weeks after ordering (covid slowed things down I assume) and product was as described. Anytime I wanted to check on the status, I used the online chat function from the website and was always answered within a couple minutes. Very satisfied with the customer service and the shipping.
Very poor customer service
Extremely rude and lazy staff
I went in there to get support on something I had purchased for our newborn and waited around for 10 minutes without any assistance. I finally chased down a salesperson, and assumed she would get me the help I asked for.
10 minutes later the same salesperson walked past and ignored me 3 times, while another stood on her cell phone for the entire time.
I watched the salesperson get verbally assaulted at by whom I assume is the manager.
I politely asked the salesperson for help again and the assumed manager rudely told me "You need to be patient." The store wasn't busy and half the staff were standing around.
We have spent thousands here, and I've never received such horrible customer service in my entire life.

Terrible customer service ,rude staff and horrible return policy. I really wanted to support smaller companies but if you want to avoid major headaches just buy from the big guys. I’ll never set foot in this store again.
Worst customer service I have ever…
Worst customer service I have ever dealt with and so horrible when speaking to management about the issue. Have spent 1000s there when having my baby and the issues I have had to date are absolutely insane. I definitely recommend going to Snugglebugz, Active Baby or another baby store rather than using this horrible company.
Why is my package shipped to Mom and not me
I would agree with the few reviews I've seen terrible baby store. New Moms pick another company to do your registry with. Their prices are very expensive and somehow my package was shipped to the wrong address to the Mom on the registry instead of to me to take to a baby shower.
Worst experience ever and still no package. WHERE IS IT?!
I placed an online order for 3 items: A healthcare and grooming kit, soft snuggle and convertme swing to seat on June 21st and never received a second email saying my items have shipped so I waited and waited... after a month still nothing so I tried to reach out by email and calling the customer service line regarding my order but I didn't hear anything back. The line doesn't always work and they don't reply right away. After awhile I finally heard back from them saying they're still waiting for 1 item the convert me swing to seat and once they have it they will ship everything out. They told me they will reach out the manufacture for a more accurate time of arrival and when they get a response they will follow up with me. I never got a follow up... over a week later I get another email saying my items are shipped and they will arrive Aug 5th. When the date came I still never received my items and I kept getting phone calls from Fedex so I reached out to Fedex to see where my shipment was. It was held at the facility saying I can come pickup anytime. I informed them that they should deliver to the address on the package and they said Westcoast re-routed my package mid way to the facility instead. Who does that?!?! Fedex asked me to call Westcoast so I did... after a hassle to get through they said they never re-routed my package and that it was Fedex that made the error. She said she will confirm with Fedex and get the address corrected and get them to ship it back to me and phone me back.. nope no call so again I had to call them and followup. Westcoast said Friday, Aug 7th.. it's now Monday Aug 10th and still no package. Almost 2 months later... WHERE IS MY PACKAGE? It's kind of ridiculous the amount of back and forth I had to deal with and the amount of wait time just for the item I wanted to purchase. I WILL NEVER ORDER FROM WESTCOAST EVER AGAIN. WORST EXPERIENCE EVER!!
This is the worst baby store
This is the worst baby store. Overpriced items and terrible service. There’s no option to cancel an order even before it’s shipped. When I try calling no one ever friggin picks up the phone and email takes a week for them to respond. And now I have something I don’t want but I have to send it back at my own expense?! You’re lost a customer.
Very disappointed
Very disappointed. I ordered maxi cosi lila stroller and a car seat on April 24th 2020. Today is May 16th and i still not received. But they already invoiced me🤷♂️. Worse part is when I call to find out about it today they just told me they didnt have the color I chose. They never called me or email me about it. simply said sorry and asked me to choose a different colour. I wanted to cancel everything but I had no choice because my baby due is June 1st . Now Im force to have black stroller and gray car seat.I'll neve buy anything from west coast kids. I hope this will never happens to anyone else.
Buyer beware
This used to be my fav baby store. I’ve spent more then $10,000 in the last year on my now 12mo. Unfortunately they don’t back their products whatsoever!!! IE I spent $400 on a pump that lasted 3 months before it would only work plugged in and less then a year before it broke completely, my bugaboo stroller ($1000 + ) has issues, my baby cook ($300+) was broken from the beginning and never worked. I called as well as emailed and all they do is request that you email the manufacturer- they don’t offer an exchange/ refund or anything else. I’m extremely disappointed with the level of service I received considering how much money I’ve spent and therefore will never spend any more $ in any of their stores.
BEWARE: HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!
Their staff & customer service are horrible! This was my first interaction with them and they lost a customer for life. I received an email about a one time 20% off coupon for their baby registry due to COVID19 causing cancellation of baby showers. I transferred my other registry (with links to purchase items from THEIR website) onto their site’s registry. I already had a registry made on babylist which is another site that lets you add items on your registry from different sites. Once I saw their email, I transferred my items to the registry on their website to qualify (the majority of the items on my other registry were already intended to be purchased from West Coast Kids!). This is the response I got via email: “As your registry was just created, it does not apply for the offer. It only applies to registries created prior to our announcement. -Jennifer”. I explained all this in an email. The generic email I received in response was not helpful at all: “I would be happy to discuss the below with you on the phone so you can understand our buy out program. -Jennifer”. It’s not a matter of understanding a buyout program. I understand that I made the registry a day after their email and I understand what buyout programs are. All companies offer registry buyouts - it’s nothing new. It’s empathy on their end I was hoping would come through regarding the one time 20% discount and it didn’t. Clearly my concerns or losing a customer don’t matter to this company and they had no empathy or understanding. Making that one time 20% profit matters to them more than being accommodating and leaving a lasting positive impression to have a repeat customer for life. At the end of the day, the items were planned to be purchased from their store anyway, regardless of having their own registry made on their website prior to their email being sent out. Other stores also offer coupons and registry buyout discounts (i.e. amazon, buybuybaby, babiesrus)... it’s nothing new! As a first time mother during a global coronavirus pandemic, baby items are hard to find in stock and prices have gone up so much for basic baby necessities. I’m appalled by their customer service and I am glad I didn’t chose to purchase our big ticket items from them because they truly demonstrated the level of customer service. My husband and I need to purchase our big items such as the stroller, car seat, crib, and other necessities ASAP... it turns out that they rather not lose that profit through 20% off. This store prides itself on being local and family owned. You would think a family owned business would care more about customer service but unfortunately not. Making money is the only thing that matters to West Coast Kids. I will continue to shop at other stores like buybuybaby who offer email coupons regularly (including 20% off your entire purchase). We won’t be shopping at their stores and will truly discourage others from shopping at West Coast Kids because of this experience. If this is their response now, I can only imagine if I ever had to exchange or return an item to their stores! It’s experiences like this especially during these unprecedented times that truly shows a company’s ethics and customer service.
Disappointed with online ordering and pretentious stores
Ordered a few items online but, when they arrived, a couple didn’t meet our needs so I wanted to return. You can’t just return to a store, they have you jump through a number of hoops before ‘authorizing a return’. I did that and took the items into the Vancouver location.
In store, they take the items but give you NOTHING in return, so you have no proof of return. It took a full 8 days and two follow-up emails to the online store and 2 phone calls to the Vancouver store in order to finally receive confirmation that the return had been processed. And even then, it will still be another 3-5 days before they will credit the refund to my credit card.
The store experience was equally disappointing as the store and employees are downright pretentious and did not display any desire to actually help the customer. Though perhaps you’d get better service if you were purchasing the $1,500 crib or some equally overpriced item rather than doing a return of buying smaller, still overpriced, items.
I will never shop here again. There are far too many other options out there, both online and in person. Options offering the exact same products, better customer service, a friendlier atmosphere, simpler processes, and considerably better prices. Save your money and try any of the other baby/child store options out there, you’re likely to be much happier anywhere else!
Horrible customer service at Richmond Hill, Ontario
Had horrible experience today, stood half an hour in line while there were only 2 people ahead of me.. only two cash register working, while 4 people are standing behind cash, doing nothing.
There was 20% off everything. I get home and looked at my receipt, guess what there is no discount given on my receipt.. now have to go back, stand in line again to get my refund.
This is supposedly a high end store!!!!! I guess not!
Not professional at all
I have been extremely unimpressed with my most recent experience here. I ordered a rocking chair in store over a week ago, and was told I would be receiving an email with a tracking number as it would arrive “curb side” in 5-10 days. I did not receive this email and have now had to call the store TWICE to follow up. The first time, I had to ask them to follow up with the chair company as their only response to me was “we don’t have an email from them either.” The second time, I had to call them again (they did not call me) and after putting me on hold, advised me that they had sent an email to the company on the weekend and hadn’t heard back. At this point I frustratingly told them that I would like my money back, since they were not offering to do anything about the situation. The person on the phone spoke to the manager and told me they would call me back the next day (today) about compensation. As of closing time today I still didn’t receive a call and am getting very tired of asking them to do their job. I will be calling tomorrow and demanding a refund, this is beyond unacceptable for a $1000 chair including the $100 extra I spent for supposed quicker service and delivery. Never again!
