Amazing service

Amazing service, easy to use website. My flowers arrived in the most wonderful healthy condition. The packaging was as if the plants were being cradled and surrounded with protection. They have all been planted and join my other 13 Geraniums in various colours. Would highly recommend this company foe all your garden needs.

Poor experience ordering rose

I ordered a David Austin rose from Webbs Direct on 7th May. Two weeks later I'd heard nothing, so phoned them. They seemed to have lost my order (though payment had gone through). However, they said they had the rose in stock and would send it immediately. Nothing appeared and I then received an email saying 'Unfortunately, whilst processing your order, our despatch team discovered a stock discrepancy. Regrettably, we do not have sufficient stock to fulfil your order at this time.' The whole process seemed very disorganised.

No plant, no notification, poor customer service

I ordered a plant online and after nearly 3 weeks it had not arrived. I telephoned and was told they didn’t have it in stock but they would check and ring me back. I didn’t hear, so rang back. They told me they didn’t have the plant so would refund. I understand that these things happen sometimes but it would have been nice to have been notified, and there was no “sorry” or any form of apology. When the refund didn’t arrive I emailed a reminder. I got no response and still no refund after 4 days. I gave up at that point and decided to claim via PayPal. I buy a lot of plants from some great suppliers but I won’t be buying from here again.

Fabulous service from Steve selecting…

Fabulous service from Steve selecting the right Weber BBQ for us and the accessories to support a very different type of cooking . Steve was very patient with all our queries and had all the information which we needed at his fingertips . We will not hesitate to contact him again and have really enjoyed exploring a more varied and tasty range of outdoor recipes . Hope to do the Weber cooking course and are definitely interested in future products released by this company if supported by the kind of exceptional customer experience we had that Saturday afternoon in May 2026

Great bedding plants really very well packed too, very securely taped in the box holders and shipping was so fast, everything arrived in perfect condition. I'm delighted with my first order and will definitely order again from this company. Really good service thank you.

Promising fast delivery but its SLOW

Delivery online said 1-2 days as all items were in stock. It actually took 6 working days so over a week

Webbs, stop over promising and under delivering. Honesty is the best policy!

Edited to add this was small items. A note book, a scent oil so small box.

Originally I would have given Webb’s a 1 star review having taken delivery of a Cyprussus Wilma with snapped off tips which is no good to anyone. Initially my complaint was ignored by customer service. Fortunately Sarah Brooks (Head of brand and digital) got involved and to her credit, she organised for an alternative replacement and made a sincere apology. It’s not the problem but how you deal with it that counts. Superb customer service and I will not hesitate to purchase from them again. Well done and thanks Sarah.

Good quality plants at a great price

Ordered ilex crenata ‘Jenny’ 6 pack as they were on 2 for 1 to replace a boxus hedge that keeps being eaten by caterpillars. Arrived in a reasonable amount of time and were well packaged. Great quality plants at a very good price. I have ordered another lot to replace another boxus hedge.

Plants arrived upside down…

Plants arrived upside down and damaged during transit. Webbs initially suggested I just cut them back as they will eventually grow back again which defeated the point of buying established flowering plants. Did however eventually agree refund covering the damaged ones. Quality and speed otherwise good.

Galvanised metal watering cans have a life expectancy of under 6 months if they live in Cheltenham

I was given a Kent and Stowe galvanised steel watering can on July 26 th 2025. When I came to use it this spring it was leaking from the soldered seal.
When I asked for a replacement I was told that was not possible as the product was more than 6 months old!
The service and attitude of the till worker ,who claimed to be a manager demonstrated a serious need for retraining if he is to match the helpfulness of the plants people.
He claimed that he had asked a more senior person to come but assured me that she would say the same .
Plants guaranteed for 5 years £27 galvanised watering can under 6 months

Many thanks for your feedback. I have checked this with our Buying Director and he says that the product is guaranteed for a minimum of 12 months from the date of purchase.  You should have been offered a replacement without a receipt or replacement/refund if you have a receipt. We believe you went to the Cheltenham store. They have been informed that this should have been offered, so please try again on your next visit, and our apologies for this issue. Mature plants in Excellent condition

My second order with Webbs. They are a bit pricey, but the plants I have ordered so have have been of excellent quality. This order was for a campanula and a strawberry plant.
I took off one star as the Campanula was too tall for the box and as a result were sticking out through the handle, so the flower spikes were a bit bent .

I only wish other gardening supplies company sent out the same mature plants.

I ordered Iris Beverly Sills it is not…

I ordered Iris Beverly Sills it is not what I received. I received Edward of Windsor I know this because I already have Edward of Windsor. I sent Webbs an email to complain I also attached pictures of the two and also a picture of what I wanted . They replied they don’t stock Edward of Windsor . They couldn’t see the difference between the pictures. I shall never order from them again.i have only given them two stars because of the good condition and packaging of the plant I received.

We have carefully checked this with both our supplier and our in-house horticultural experts and can confirm that the iris supplied is indeed Beverley Sills. The photo you provided shows a pale, soft salmon pink, which matches Beverley Sills. By comparison, Edward of Windsor is a pale yellow/cream colour.

Our supplier has also confirmed that they have been growing this variety for many years from a stable source.

If i could give no stars i would...
We ordered in store a very expensive bench for delivery, which the staff member had said it will be delivered in a few days? 2 weeks later.
Ok, that's fine no rush..
The bench arrived which my husband took receipt of, he didn't think anything of the packaging.
He was told the cushion seat was on delay, no we weren't told of this, but ok..
I went over to take a look and what i found was awful! How this bench got out the warehouse is beyond me!.
I called spoke to someone named Paul who was very rude not helpful at all, after a strained conversation i just asked for a refund.. He answered if that's what you want then that's up to you..
He wasn't even interested in replacing it..
I then had to email a different dept to ask for it to be picked up and a refund the answer came back with 3 days or more wait..
I called again told them its unacceptable and she reassured me that the courier service will collect AM next day and they will call with the refund..
YES, i'm still waiting!!
Called them to be informed they have to email a different dept to contact me..
ABSOLUTE COMEDY SHOW!!!

I understand that the bench arrived with some surface mould caused in storage that wasn't immediately obvious to the team due to the external cardboard wrap. I can appreciate how disappointing it must have been to receive a product that didn’t meet your expectations.

Regarding the conversation with Paul, it would never be his intention to come across as rude - unfortunately, we didn’t have another bench available to replace it, as all units had the same issue, and it will take us a few days to make these fit for sale.

I understand that the bench was collected on the 18th April and a refund has already been processed.

I completely understand your frustration with the delays and the communication issues, and we are actively reviewing our processes to ensure a better experience for our customers moving forward.

I am extremely pleased with every possible aspect of my Online order with Webbs Garden Centre.
1. It was extremely easy to use their online ordering, plus they had both the shrubs I wanted were in stock with good photos and information.
2. Both plants arrived quickly by courier when they were supposed to arrive.
3. They were beautiful healthy plants. The packing for transit was simply excellent, and both plants arrived completely undamaged in superb condition without so much as a leaf broken.
Well done Webbs, you have done extremely well. 10/10 from me.

Do not order online!

I haven’t even received the plants yet, and already the experience has been extremely disappointing. I placed a large order for a landscaping project on 20th March, and as of 1st April, it still hasn’t arrived.
Before ordering, I requested an estimated delivery date because I was going away on 26th March and needed someone available to receive and plant them if necessary. Getting any information was incredibly difficult. I had to chase multiple times. Eventually, I was told the delivery had been escalated and would definitely arrive on Tuesday 31st. That didn’t happen. Instead, I was then told it would arrive “the next day.”
Since my mum can’t stay home indefinitely waiting for a delivery with no confirmed time, I asked them to rearrange for a suitable date. They refused and dispatched the order anyway. Now she’s forced to rearrange her schedule again and stay home all day with no ETA provided.
Communication has been poor throughout. I’m currently abroad in a different time zone (8 hours ahead), and although messages are being sent at normal times, it makes coordination more difficult from my side. I had also asked them to contact my mum directly for delivery coordination, but this hasn’t been handled effectively.
I also mistakenly purchased a Webbs membership card, thinking I’d be ordering more plants in the future, but based on this experience, I won’t be using this company again.
Given the service so far, I’m concerned about the quality of the plants when they eventually arrive. Charging delivery fees for such poor service is unacceptable. I will update this review once I receive the order, especially if the plants arrive in poor condition.
Thankfully, I paid by credit card, so I have the option to pursue a Section 75 claim if necessary, as I currently have very little confidence in their customer service.

Here’s what I’ve found:

Your order arrived with us on 20th March at 10:50 AM.
Unfortunately, we didn’t manage to dispatch it before the bank holiday, as we should have done by Thursday, 26th March.
Your order was delivered on 2nd April via APC.

The delay was caused by two lines being out of stock, and we should have arranged a separate dispatch for the lavender from our Oxfordshire branch to avoid any delay. We regret this misstep as the delivery was then delayed further by the four-day Easter bank holiday.

Additionally, we’ve noted your concern about the jasmine being very thirsty. I have asked the team to look into this urgently and resolve this for you.

We are actively working on improving our delivery tracking and communication processes to prevent future delays. Any orders that exceed our usual 3-5-day delivery timeframe will be prioritised, and we will ensure more regular updates for our customers.

Once again, we apologise for the inconvenience caused, and we hope to improve your experience with us moving forward. If you have any further concerns, please don’t hesitate to reach out.

Shout out to Antony at Wychbold

I spoke to Antony who arranges the deliveries for Webbs at Wychbold and would give him 10/10 for customer experience and customer satisfaction. He was friendly, professional and would go above and beyond to help. I had 18 large rocks and 16 bags of stones to hand pick and he was patient and helped pick out each one to load onto the trolley. Thank you again Antony!

Outstanding staff performance

Saturday 14th march 2026

My partner and I visited the store in Cheltenham Gloucestershire
And we were blown away by how friendly the staff were,

A lady and gentleman were superb they had an abundance of knowledge about a new item they were installing in the shop,
So much so we have made a plan to return to purchase soon
And that decision is very reflective on how warm and welcome the staff made us feel

On purpose my partner and I dress down ourselves,
To test how the staff will treat us in a business environment

A lot of businesses have failed us because the staff tend to judge a book by its cover

Well not at webbs in Cheltenham,
They truly saw us as people who mattered and their approach towards us made all of the difference

I wish I would have got there names because those two definitely need promotion, with pay rise, or at the very least have them selves acknowledged for there hard work

The item they were installing was a large item i think they are called pagoda ?
It had lights with a remote control
A roof they can be open or closed and the sides even go up or down
It was metal and wood
And a real show stopper

Even though they were obviously busy working hard
They both still took the time to answer any questions I had and nothing was rushed
