I am a long time fan of Plantmade

I am a long time fan of Plantmade, and this review is so overdue.
I had bald spots due to alopecia and tried everything you can think of to remedy it, and honestly, Plantmade was a last ditch attempt. I wasn’t expecting a miracle overnight, however I was shocked to see actual results after 1 month, and the rate of the growth was unreal!
Before Plantmade I hadn’t had my hair cut for three years as it just didn’t grow, and since September 2021, I’ve had it cut three times. I’m not talking a trim here, I’m talking waist length hair being cut to shoulder length kind of trims.
I use the bundle that includes soil and rain, and I find that works perfect for me, get my hair growing, no bald spots returning, and keeps my hair in a tip top condition.

I waited a month and a half for my order with no update and eventually had to ask for a refund due to not receiving my items. It's a real shame because I have been ordering with plantmade for a long time and have recommended products to many friends and family members. I would have loved to get my products and leave another positive review as I have in the past but I think that it's important to keep constancy, especially with long time customers.

Been 4 months Never received product

Made a order March 3rd 2025. As of now 7/7/25 I've received no product. I spent $35. I reached out multiple times. First time I didn't even get a reply. The second time i got a response of, "we will look into it." The 3rd time I asked for either a refund or a new product sent. They refunded the shipping only, which was $10. Now I'm out $25 and no product! If I could leave 0 stars i would.

It’s been well over a month

It’s been well over a month, and my items are yet to be shipped out. You can’t get to speak to any human except robots which is extremely frustrating. Hopefully the product ships out before 6 months.

The products inflamed my scalp

The products inflamed my scalp, and I have seen many comments saying the same so the website should show a list of potential negative effects and ingredients that may cause this.
Leon from their customer service team agreed to accept my unopened products for a refund - it's been almost two months now and I still have not had the money back (even though they admit they have the products back).

I get the impression the owner is way out of her depth, the company is running before it can walk and as a consequence general operations and service levels are incredibly poor.

Rather than acknowledge this and try to fix, the owner is ignoring the issues and on a pr campaign presenting herself and the business as being brilliant.

Don't believe the hype, one to stay away from

NEVER EVER AGAIN!😡

Terrible TERRIBLE service!!!
Waited for what felt like an eternity for my products only for them to arrive in a broken jar! (This was supposed to be ‘Next Day delivery’).
Contacted the company through IG , and despite keeping me waiting for several weeks for the product, they then had the sheer temerity to cross examine me about the damage - suggesting that I wasn’t being truthful! They then demanded pictures - even though I’d already explained that I had to transfer what I could salvage of the product into a jar so i no longer had the broken pieces of the original jar.
From then they just ignored me, no responses , nothing!
Prior to this I had been on a subscription, and had already spent £100s on many of their packages - which incidentally the products were actually quite good, but because of the length of time they’d taken to dispatch my goods, and their poor customer and disrespect, I will NOT be purchasing from them ever again!
My family and friends (whom I’d previously recommended PLANTMADE products to ) have all had similar experiences, and have now cancelled their subscription also.
AMA and the team definitely do not give a đŸ’© about their loyal customers now that they have made it big, but they may well live to regret this, as we all know the importance of GOOD CUSTOMER SERVICE, and that what goes up, MUST also come down!😡

Business is going to suffer now, but I really did try to support this Black owned business- sent a lot of people her way, and this is the thanks I get!

Never EVER again!! 😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡

Terrible

This company a scam. I placed my order on 12 May 2025 and was advised that Evri next day delivery would be used. 3 weeks later, no items were delivered. I emailed twice and received a response from the PLANTMADE AI bot.

I emailed again after contacting the owner directly on Instagram and receiving no response. I got a response from the team and asked for a refund and not to send the product out. They advised that the item would be shipped by the end of last week but not providing any firm date and ignoring my request for a refund. I was also advised that I misunderstood what next day delivery meant. This was laughable really at this stage. I was advised that next day delivery meant it would arrive next day after it has been dispatched. If you state next day delivery this means next day and common sense would provide that it is dispatched within the next couple of days of the order being placed. Most companies would never state next day but we can decide to dispatch 3 weeks from now! It’s completely unethical and immature. Use ‘standard’ delivery as most companies do, rather than overstating claims that you are using next day and then providing a convoluted answer to what next day means when they stated it themselves.

This company comes highly recommended, however all I see is complaints about the exact same issue. If you cannot fulfil orders do not keep taking people’s money- it’s highly unethical. If you have no actual customer service department shut down until you can do things properly. I got my refund after threatening to file a section 75/ chargeback with my bank. I’ve never dealt with such a poorly managed company.

The owner is actively promoting these items on Instagram, tik tok yet can’t fulfil the orders. The comments sections of these posts are littered with the same disgruntled complaints. She even had the cheek to delete most of the bad comments last week. The owner is making the rounds on various podcasts referencing earning 7 figures. It’s really outrageous and tone deaf when your customers are waiting for said products. I really wanted to support black business and a natural hair product but unfortunately there is no professionalism. Asking three times for my money back is unacceptable.

A quick google search would provide you with other black hair brands using natural products like Fleur East’s Brand or Nylah.

customer service is severely lacking. Disappointed

Ordered my products 24 days ago and still not been dispatched. The information on delays is very vague and way beyond the 10-14 processing time they mention. Constantly have to chase up to get updates and sometimes don’t get a response as is the case now. Emailed twice to cancel order but avoiding comms.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS!! One of the worse suppliers you will ever come across

When I first started using them initially there customer service was fairly decent, no major complaints.

Over the past couple of years it has significantly declined.

- Constant delays in receiving orders, they have serious stock management issues. It went from 5-7 days processing times plastered all over their website to increase to 10 working days which isnt displayed anywhere as far as I could see. They used language and statements like 'Extended Processing Times We Are Moving Warehouse So Shipping Times Will Be Slightly Later Than Usual' to keep things vague as possible and avoid any accountability showing the lack of care they have for the end user . Wont be long until its 15 working days minimum on a good day.

- Poor customer service. When you chase to get a order status, you sometimes get generic AI responses, other times you get emailed by a human who wont be named, but is really bad at dealing with the customer query at hand. The person seems to not deal with the query directly and almost dismiss it, or provide answer to question that wasnt even asked. Real lack of sympathy or acknowledgement of their wrong doing i.e. orders being received well after the order processing window etc.

Not to mention on top of all of this, there response times are very inconsistent. Some days they respond at minimum in 2 working days. Other days they can take up to a week. Its really infuriating.

You used to get a text message telling you when an order was dispatched, you dont seem to get that anymore. So you have no idea when the package really is arriving.

You cant get through to anyone ever on the numbers you provide and dont even waste your time leaving a voicemail message!

There products are okay but no one on the planet has enough patience to deal with the horror of a customer service. I'd recommend alternatives which they are plenty on the market and much more reasonably priced and more importantly better customer service.

This company is so incompetent

This company is so incompetent! My account was debited for 2 items. Then came a pop up which I thought related to my order they updated including this additional item. I reached out told them I didn't want this item just the two I had originally ordered. They refunded the discounted item, but instead of updating they have shipped the deleted item plus another.
They are just totally incompetent don't care and are not worth the hassle. You order two items and end up totally stressed out!

Actually the worst body products line ever. I have both the coffee body scrub & the snow body butter. They both cause acne!!! Never experience this from any other product before. Have used both these products at individual times. Both with the same results of getting acne all over my body?! All over my soft arms & chest. I’m not one to write a bad review, but clearly these guys know nothing about what’s actually good for your skin. So bad that I threw them both in the bin.
