BUYERS BEWARE! The boots I received were nothing like what was advertised, and the quality is shockingly poor for the price. Despite appearing to be a Canadian company “Vera Noir Toronto”, returns must be shipped to the Netherlands at an unreasonable cost. I reluctantly agreed to their 30% refund offer, only to be ignored afterward. Their misleading advertising, questionable return practices, and lack of customer service are huge red flags. I strongly urge others to avoid this company. Save your money and shop elsewhere!

I ordered three items and needed to send two back. They were not as advertised - a button front dress had painted on buttons and a sweater which was shown as a relaxed fit was very tight. I used the sizing measurements recommended but it did not look the same on me as the model. The dress could possibly qualify as a Halloween costume. The sweater was scratchy and rough - I wouldn’t have kept it even if it fit like the picture.
I bought from Vera.noir.toronto assuming it was a Canadian company. I knew I would have to pay for returns and took the chance. Nope. Netherlands. Over $50 to return two items. This is technically my fault but it feels like they are intentionally misleading by including Toronto but not accepting returns to Toronto.
The only reason they get one star is that their customer service was good.

I would leave 0 stars if I could. Fraudulent website!! I ordered a pair of boots they were described as "leather and suede with natural wool lining"
These boots are literally plastic, they have zero lining and a tiny bit of cheap plastic fleece at the top only. they look like thay came out of a cheap child's halloween costume. Literally nothing like the described item ir photo. When I tried to return them, they twll me they'll give me a 15% discount only. If not I have to pay an enormous amount to return them to China! They charge 165 dollars for these plastic crap boots that are advertised as leather and wool.. I have found better shoes in a dollar store. Absolutely criminal. Do not buy ANYTHING from them!

Bought a sweatshirt and a pair of casual trousers and I’ve been wearing both quite a bit. The sweatshirt is thicker than I expected and feels good for cooler days. The trousers fit nicely through the legs without being too baggy, and my order arrived well packed.

There were quite a few things I liked on the site, so it took me a while to decide what to order. I ended up choosing a handbag and a pair of trousers. Both arrived well packed and looked just as I expected from the photos. The bag has more room inside than I thought it would, and the trousers sit nicely without feeling too loose. Tracking updates were clear as well, which made the order easy to follow from dispatch to delivery.

I had to exchange my dress because the first size was a little snug around the waist. I emailed support and they got back to me pretty quickly with the next steps. The replacement arrived without any trouble and fits much better. Really pleased with how they handled it.

I would choose zero stars if I could. I received not 1 but TWO of the exact same shirts that I did not order -- I wish I had screenshot-ed the 2 shirts I ACTUALLY chose because I have no proof, but I most certainly would never order 2 of the same shirt. I wanted to send them back but it was going to cost a lot of money so I settled for the 15% refund and not returning the shirts I didn't want. It's been 2 weeks since they told me I should see the refund in 10 business days max --and not only have I not received my measly refund but now I can't get a hold of them.

🚩🚩 BUYERS BEWARE — WHAT I RECEIVED WAS NOTHING LIKE WHAT I ORDERED 🚩🚩

I am posting this review to warn other consumers about my experience with Vera-Noir. I had to put 1 star to write my comment but it's worth a big 0!

I ordered what was advertised as a linen mini dress. What arrived was an entirely different garment: a midi-length dress made of polyester and spandex, of extremely poor quality, that bears little resemblance to the product I believed I was purchasing.

This is not a question of the dress not fitting properly, the colour being slightly different, or simply changing my mind. I did not receive the product that was advertised and that I paid for.

When I contacted Vera-Noir, their proposed solutions were:

🚩 Accept a 25% refund and keep the garment I never ordered; or
🚩 Receive a full refund only if I pay to ship the incorrect garment back.

In other words, I am expected either to absorb 75% of the cost of a product that was materially different from what was advertised, or spend additional money to correct a situation I did not create.

I have refused to pay return shipping. Given my experience thus far, I also have no confidence that, after paying to return the garment, its receipt would be acknowledged and my refund actually processed. I am not willing to risk being left without the garment, without my refund, and with additional shipping costs on top of it.

What troubles me most is not simply the poor quality of what I received. It is the enormous discrepancy between what was advertised, what was delivered, and the way the company expects the customer to bear the cost and risk of correcting it.

🚩 My advice: exercise extreme caution before purchasing from Vera-Noir. Take screenshots of the product description and photographs before ordering, and pay by a method that provides purchase protection.

I have retained photographs, the garment and its fabric label, the original product information, and my correspondence with the company to document my experience.

Dress did not fit nicely and definetly not as pictured. The cost of shipping back was more than the dress was worth ($62). They offered a 15% discount for a dress I will never wear - gee thanks and why the two star rating. At some point when I was purchasing off Facebook, it said TORONTO in the link so I thought it was a Canadian company. NOT! It came from China and return address was Netherlands haha Good luck with your purchases but I will never buy from them again and def dont recommend.

Wished l didn't order 2 pairs of boots at the same time but did because of their summer sale scam l did. Both boots are junk for what you pay. They also came with a terrible smell. They have made in China stickers. Also thin and very light weight. It's taking days to get any response to return. Starting to doubt they'll honor the 30 day return policy.

Items never arrived and there is no response from customer support. It is a scam company.

The fact that they have replied publicly below but not to my many emails sent over the past month to their customer support email with my order number clearly indicated is telling.

UPDATE AUG 15: Still no response from customer service and no product, despite the comment from the company below.

The item I received does not in any way resemble the attractive website photos or match the description which includes a natural fabric content.

It is an overpriced, poor quality, shapeless synthetic garment.

An online purchase is one of trust and in this case a great disappointment.

I have had several communications. A 25% refund or my paying to send the item back to China is not what a credible merchant would offer.


Update - as per merchant’s response below, I reached out one last time and was once again offered a partial refund to keep an item that was not at all as described or ship overseas at my expense and wait for a refund.

La couleur ne correspond pas, la coupe non plus. Tout est de très mauvaise qualité, il n'y a même pas d'étiquette sur les vêtements. De plus, impossible de recevoir l'adresse pour retourner le vêtement et se faire rembourser. C'est une arnaque sans service client, vous trouvez les mêmes vêtements sur Temu 20 fois moins cher.

I did not get what I ordered. It’s cheap material and does not look like anything in the picture. I have been scammed and out 100$ for terrible quality clothing in the wrong material.

Vera Noirstyle What I liked most is that everything just worked as it should. No long delivery times, no sizing issues, and no disappointment when opening the package. The fabric feels luxurious and the clothing is very comfortable to wear.
