king oyster and wine cap …
My king oyster and wine cap grain spawn arrived very quickly and in brilliant condition. I made up a couple of beds and have had the most wonderful success. The king oysters have been fruiting and fruiting. The wine caps are showing very heathy mycelium so looking forward to them soon. Such an exciting success. Highly recommended and will definitely purchase from them again. I bought the grain spawn in April.

Some clearer information on the box.
I wish, for a start, that you had printed on the box, words to the effect of "Don't throw away, after removing contents. This is part of the kit." I bought a pink oyster kit, months ago, and ( after removing the contents, and disposing of the box) put it aside, as I've been unwell for quite some time. Today, I intended to start growing the mushrooms, but noticed the information that advised starting the process within three days. It's disheartening to think that I have wasted over £18. Any advice?

Svar från Urban Farm-It
Hi Tim,
Thanks for your review and feedback, it is of great importance to us.
It sounds as if you purchased one of our 'ready to grow' kits which comes with the living spawn- these kits should arrive with a
"Living spawn inside, please read storage instructions"
sticker on the front of the box, the details of which are elaborated on the instructions (required storage temperature and use by). The cardboard box is also included on the kit contents list on the instruction sheet, stating it's use and not to discard of it.
Although the original bag of spawn from your kit may be expired, the rest of the contents can still be used, we would hate it to go to waste and would love to get you growing! If you could please get in touch with us at hello@urban-farm-it.com we will aim to resolve this for you as quickly as possible.
Kind regards,
Alice

Hi Suzanne,
Thanks for taking the time to leave us a review. Our black substrate bags are designed to to be water proof and heat resistant to enable easy pasteurisation, so I sincerely apologise that yours split!
Have you put your kit away to incubate before spraying the holes in the bag? 13 days is most likely too early to expect any fruiting bodies.
I have sent you an email so we can come to a resolution ASAP!
Kind regards,
Alice

Gift experience could be better
Haven't got a crop yet, but early days.
I bought a gift - which arrived promptly and was wonderful but also confusing as the order didn't allow the leaving of a message etc, so when it arrived, there was confusion as to why it had been received!
Would be great if you could add a message - as a proper gift, and have it look like a gift too.
I ordered the seminar to go with the gift, but haven't received an email with the details and I had to let the person who I had bought the gift for know to keep that evening free - as there was nothing in the package that suggested the seminar!

Hi there,
Thanks for your review! What platform did you purchase the kit from? On our website there is an option to add a note to your order (if not you can always send us a message, we are happy to add notes or confirmations of webinars)
Webinar details are provided via email, if you would like us to change the recipient email address just let us know and we can get that sorted.
Kind regards,
Alice
Contaminated
Either substrate or spawn were contaminated. Substrate grew Wet Spot (bacillus). Substrate was sterilised as advised and spawn added under aseptic conditions. Imagine the substrate was contaminated with bacillus toxins which weren't destroyed through sterilisation.
