Cancellation

Desmond took my call re: cancelling my membership, he was Very helpful, polite and professional. No hard sell to make me stay just an enquiry into why I wanted to leave.

I’m a bit disappointed with this the…

I’m a bit disappointed with this the actual gin boxes are pretty good however cancelling was a commotion as it can’t be done online. I kept emailing customer service and no response. I tried calling and was in a long queue so accepted the option to get someone to call me back …they didn’t and I got charged for another box. I set an Alarm to call customer services and managed to get through and cancel when I said I was disappointed I was advised to email customer services …. No response again
Loads of spam emails and even an email asking ne how my experience was after I contacted customer service but no ACTUAL customer service 😢

Very helpful

Anna was very pleasant and helpful. However, I would prefer to have been able to cancel my subscription online. Seems strange and unnecessary to not be able to do that.

Hard to cancel membership

I used to love this company but nowadays I do not think the value is the same. The new website does not give any member reward information and it is impossible to cancel membership on line. Once you manage to get through a long recorded message (twice or more times) the staff are helpful and pleasant but obviously trained to try to keep you as a member. Time to go.

Avoid!

I have ordered from them products for £7.50 and on the next month I found out that I have a membership with them costs me £37/monthly. Yes, I know it was my mistake that I haven't read the little letters and because of this I been engaged with membership. I cancelled the membership,but they didn't make me a refund. Even in case that they still haven't sent the box for £37... I just want to warn the people to don't do my mistake! I'm so disappointed and I won't use never their service!

We're sorry to hear you're disappointed with your experience. However, we'd like to clarify a few points for anyone reading.

The Curious Drinker is a subscription club designed to help members discover exceptional craft gins, rums and other spirits they may never have come across otherwise. Membership details, pricing and billing frequency are clearly displayed during sign-up, and we remind customers multiple times throughout the registration process that they are joining a recurring subscription.

Following sign-up, we also send a series of welcome emails explaining how membership works, what to expect from future deliveries, and how to manage or cancel a subscription before the next shipment is processed.

As with most subscription services, once an order has been processed and reserved for fulfilment, it is not always possible to issue a refund simply because a member no longer wishes to continue. That said, you are never stuck with a box you don't want, you can simply return it.

We're proud to support independent distilleries and introduce our members to exciting spirits from producers they might otherwise never discover. While we're sorry the service wasn't the right fit for you, we appreciate you giving us a try and wish you all the best.

They don't have cancel membership online and they play around. I have just cancelled over the phone. Let's see.

That said, we aim to make the process as quick and straightforward as possible, including any wait time, our cancellation calls average around 2 minutes.

Scammy

Very poor offering - 10ml of rum, and a bunch of rubbishy snacks and a few weird sparkling drinks that I didn't like.

Made it super hard to cancel, had to click lots of buttons in hidden areas, then they refuse to let you cancel online and make you phone so they can persuade you to stay

We're sorry to hear that the contents of the free taster box weren't to your taste. The introductory box is designed to give new members a flavour of the products featured in our subscription, and includes a selection of drinks and snacks with a retail value of up to £28. The box itself is provided free of charge, with customers only paying packing and postage costs.

We would also like to clarify that there is no hidden cancellation process. Members can cancel their subscription by calling our team, a process that takes around two minutes on average, including any wait time. We ask customers to call so that we can answer any final questions, gather feedback on their experience, and ensure there are no unresolved issues with their membership.

We appreciate that this approach won't suit everyone, but it is clearly outlined as part of the membership process and is not intended to prevent cancellations. In fact, many of our members enjoy speaking directly with the team.

Bianca was too hard sell. I made it quite clear I wanted to cancel, but she was going to put my membership on pause for 3 months. No respect. Also annoyed that only possible to cancel by phone and not online

Charged me for an order I did not make

Charged me for an order I did not make. Have cancelled to subscription which I was unaware of. Be interesting to see if I can get my money back.

Hi Mr Butler, Thank you for your review.

We can only create a subscription following a customer's sign-up and consent, so we would not have been able to start a membership without your authorisation.

As outlined during sign-up, our subscriptions operate on a fixed monthly schedule. Payments are taken on the 23rd of the month prior to delivery, and boxes are dispatched during the first week of the delivery month. Your June box is due for delivery this week, so please keep an eye out for tracking updates.

Like most subscription services, we charge on the same date each month and deliver within the same monthly window to keep billing and deliveries consistent and easy to follow. Once a box has been fulfilled and payment has been taken, we are unable to cancel that month's order.

That said, if you no longer wish to receive the box, you are welcome to return it in accordance with our returns policy.
