Really enjoyed being a member of Craft…

Really enjoyed being a member of Craft Gin Club (now The Curious Drinker) but my drinking habits have changed and my cupboard now resembles a very expensive gin bar that nobody visits!
Bianca was very helpful just now, allowing me to cancel my membership as I had previously paused it thinking I might start drinking again.
Would definitely recommend if you like your gin or rum! Magazines are an interesting read and I used to love attending the tasting events online.
Sad to say goodbye but ….!

Great gin boxes and helpful Customer Services

Desmond was very pleasant and efficient with helping me cancel my membership and didn't go into a hard sell to try to make me stay (unlike other companies I've experienced in the past). The gin boxes are great and I would recommend them to others, however after many years of membership I now have more gin than I know what to do with, which is the only reason I cancelled.

Spoke to a lovely lady called Anna and…

Spoke to a lovely lady called Anna and i explained that i did not intend having a monthly subscription with you when i sent for my taster box. I do not like it when Subscribing is not made clear when making a purchase.
Anna was very pleasant and helped by cancelling the subscription.

What a dreadful experience

What a dreadful experience. It appears one can cancel membership online but that is not the case. After emailing, I was informed this had to be done over the phone; however, the telephone number is either not available online or very well hidden. The telephone service, from Bianca, was excellent, although there is a hard sell to remain customer. Overall, steer well clear. The contact number is 02035193532

I had emailed to cancel this…

I had emailed to cancel this subscription, was emailed in return and asked to phone in and cancel my subscription. I was advised I would be offered alternative options but I persevered and it was agreed with Anna to cancel my subscription and I asked to be sent an email to confirm the cancellation, this was duly received.

thank you Yasmine for your response, it is a shame you did not reply to my messages sent via your contact us page on your website.

I am not sure how you can say it is £60 worth of gin and other bits in the box, but that is another point.

whilst I appreciate you take the money early, you would also as a business know fully how many orders you have to fulfil, if you cant cope with the amount of subscriptions, you should be transparent with subscribers and say there is a problem getting the boxes out, but nothing is ever said.

I would actually think your business is easier to manage as you know how many orders you have for delivery at the beginning of the month, you have collected the money, you have enough time to spend the money, if this is why you are collecting the money so early, plenty of other subscription companies do not have the problems you have. There are plenty of delivery companies as well who could be called upon to deliver at short notice the boxes that would appear to have been late being boxed up, or that you have not actually purchased the goods.

sorry I cannot see why when you take payment on the 23rd May that the Gin box is not delivered or at least notified of a delivery on the 1st of June, I still have not had any notification of delivery, so can only see that what was the Craft Gin Club which has now been re-named, have not even dispatched the June box which is worrying

also the only response I have had is because of a complaint review

I have been a member for a very long time, have a regular monthly subscription, whilst it used to be really good, now it is not good value for money, it is cheaper to buy the gin you want to try, too many gins are made for them, yes you get some nice nibbles and some tonic's etc, but you could buy a decent bottle of gin, high end tonics for far less money than the subscription.

my biggest problem is delivery, they take your money very early in the month before, but delivery is never on or near the 1st of the following month, I am still waiting on Junes box, even though payment was taken on the 23rd May

it is impossible to contact them by phone, you have to message and with the new website it can only be found by saying you want to subscribe.

really poor service, it is better to go an buy the gin you want and the mixers you want, when you want them, not being charged a premium and not getting delivery.

In terms of value, we're always happy to provide a full breakdown of the contents of any box. Our monthly boxes cost £47, and the combined retail value of the products included is consistently over £60. Alongside the featured spirit, members receive premium mixers, snacks, tasting notes, cocktails and exclusive products that are often unavailable elsewhere. We're proud of the value we provide and, over the years, have continued to increase both the quantity and quality of what's included in our boxes.

Regarding payments and deliveries, we charge members on the 23rd of each month so that we can consistently deliver boxes within our advertised delivery window of the 1st–7th of the following month. This isn't because we're unable to manage demand; it's a deliberate process that allows us to maintain a reliable and consistent service for all members. The benefit of this approach is that members always know exactly when they'll be charged and when they can expect their box to arrive.

As a premium subscription club, we dispatch and deliver thousands of boxes within a very specific timeframe each month. Our systems and processes are designed to ensure deliveries remain consistent throughout the year, including during weekends, bank holidays and peak periods.

With regards to your June box, we are still within the advertised delivery window. While we appreciate you're eager to receive it, the 1st of the month is not the promised delivery date; our commitment is delivery between the 1st and 7th of each month.

I've also checked your account and can see that you contacted us yesterday. Our Membership Team aims to respond to all emails within 48 hours, and someone will be in touch with you as soon as possible.

We genuinely value your long-standing membership and appreciate your feedback, even where we may disagree. We hope we'll have the opportunity to address your concerns directly and restore your confidence in the club.

The boxes were great but cannot cancel online now.

The boxes were great. The customer person I spoke to, Anna, was great too. However, not being able to cancel online now is a big step back. You have to call now and go through a pre scripted conversation. As someone who cannot really speak now due to disability, I think this is appalling. I explained all of this in an email but was told by a return email that I had no other option. It causes me pain to speak but that is what I had to do. Accessibility should be considered by all companies.

The company forces you into a subscription without your consent and then cancellation become a hassle where you have to call their team to help you cancel the subscription you were not aware of.

Very hard to cancel subscription…

Very hard to cancel subscription membership. They try every tactic to keep you when trying to cancel online. Then they still keep the subscription going. Calling via telephone involves loads of questions etc. very time consuming. Just buy gin from somewhere else
Reply says it’s a call to cancel but they have an option to do it online which doesn’t work so obviously the website needs updated to remove this and a clear easy link to the telephone number provided. Very hard to find and time consuming. Should be much easier

No box no refund shocked money taken from my account with no warning read the small print on joining !
You can’t cancel subscription from website other companies give you prior notification of money to be taken you can then cancel or pause

Our subscription operates on a fixed monthly schedule: payments are taken on the 23rd of the month prior to delivery, and boxes are dispatched during the first week of the delivery month. Your June box is currently due for delivery this week, so please keep an eye on your tracking updates.

As with many subscription services, payments are collected on the same date each month to provide a clear and consistent billing schedule. These payment dates, delivery windows, and cancellation terms are outlined during sign-up and within our Terms & Conditions.

Once a box has been fulfilled and payment has been processed, we are unable to cancel that month's order. However, customers are never obliged to keep a box they no longer want. In line with our returns policy, unopened boxes can be returned to us.

We appreciate all feedback, but we feel it's important to clarify that your June box is currently in transit and has not been missed.

Scam website doesn't let you cancel

The website sends you in loops when you try to cancel. I've cancelled three times and they are still insisting that my membership is still active. Don't even try or you will be stuck.

Our cancellation procedure is clearly communicated, and we have no record of three separate cancellation requests being received from you.

We understand that not everyone will agree with our cancellation method, but we do not send customers in circles or deliberately keep memberships active against their wishes. If a membership remains active, it is because the cancellation process has not yet been completed.
