It was quick & easy to set up the policy. Using comparison sites it was the cheapest quote from a company that I knew. The policy hasn't started yet but so far I am very pleased

Absolutely avoid at ALL costs terrible company and not who or what you need in an emergency.
In our case Garage Freezer failed found a couple of days later so food was ruined and stunk!
Placed in bin and opened claim - approx £400 of food. (Didn’t claim for freezer as it was older and probably wear & tear)
After opened claim was told I needed to remove food from bin and photograph. I did this with all packaged food but all pre prepared had been removed from its stored Tupperware and disposed of in food waste. (This was the absolute worst thing I have ever had to do)
Then I had to upload photos and replacement cost items onto site. This took hours.
I did this on 11/7 and have had no communication since, today 20/7 portal telling me they have everything they need. Looked at the messages and found they had had in fact replied on 11/7 and basically found issue with 3 of the 30 odd replacements I had found prices for. Then telling me they only really pay £50 per draw. (Seriously before the endless vomiting from getting rotten food from a bin they really should have said that)
As we have a £250 excess that equates to £50.
We are just a standard family trying to make ends meet and this was quite a hit to us, no support or help or understanding.
Thank god in our case we only lost food.

Customer service was very helpful and I felt safe in taking home insurance with the AA

Very easy to arrange cover, and cover very competitive. Also the AA app is easy to use and very useful.
Had a similar experience last year when changing to AA for my car insurance. So pleased but not surprised this time round.

I found the website difficult to navigate,spent over an hour messing around,almost giving up at one point I hope if I need to make a claim I have a much better experience and able to speak to someone.
