I initially approached Taxback to get an estimate, which I thought would be straight forward enough. Fill out the questionnaire and some details. I then got asked for documents, which I supplied. Weeks and weeks of waiting, shocking service from customer support as I was locked out of my taxback tracker (still haven't been given access) and no estimate. Then last night suddenly I got an email saying application complete and what I thought was an estimate, but no they submitted to Revenue and completed the refund. All I ever wanted was an estimate!! just to see if I could get a little bit more. Not an enjoyable service, no clarity, no real help, poor timing, poor communication and no ability from my side to see to agree to anything. I won't complain about their fees as that's business, but overall, I was VERY disappointed.. Also, I never do reviews, this is my first one ever, so that should paint a picture of the service I received.

Not serious
Stay away from them, look like scammers, they asked me for a fee plus extra money saying I underpaid taxes, which is fake. I managed directly with Revenue and all sorted, got tax refund: )

Wouldn’t even give them a star if that was a choice. I started an application, they hadn’t even received my T4 certificate from Canada yet. My “tracker” said I owe a fee, so they advised via live chat I owe the CRA money plus a fee to them - not sure how they know I would owe money if they didn’t ask any further questions nor did they receive the correct documents?
They also state you will receive a free estimate before anything is proceeded with, which I never received. After I protested this, they updated the “tracker” (backdated it!!) to show there was money owing!!!
They ask you to sign paperwork with them signing them as your attorney up front, in the first stages of signing up - don’t be stupid like me and do this! They will not take your personal situation into account at all and do nothing to charge a huge fee.
ABSOLUTE SCAM!

Really unprofessional and disappointing…
Really unprofessional and disappointing for an Irish Company. Since the company headquarters is practically local I decided I'd go with Taxback. Initially the automated system was efficient, updating my revenue account to act on my behalf. That is where the efficiency ended, it's been two months of nothing, Taxback would not answer phone calls and do not reply to emails. Only for the Live Chat I felt like I've been totally scammed. Live Chat is the only way any information can be received and at that they are very limited in what can be done. Such a waste of my time, I went with Taxback to assist with speedily completing my tax return as I had limited time but now I've wasted twice as much time as I would have completing the return myself.
This is not the way a professional company should handle new business or any business for that matter. Manage customer expectations, if you think there will be a delay in processing the application, communicate it, don't leave a customer for two months with nothing.

terrible AVOID
terrible - do not use this company. I made an enquiry only a year ago. They ended up harassing me and then I find out they linked themselves to my revenue ago which I never gave permission for. Bizarre. Do not use this company or even make an enquiry with them.

Attention, ce site est une énorme arnaque ! Ils facturent des frais astronomiques et compliquent le processus ! Il vaut mieux passer directement par l'administration ; la procédure est plus simple, plus rapide et vous coûtera moins cher. Ne faites pas la même erreur que moi !
Caution, this site is a massive scam! They charge astronomical fees and complicate the process! It's better to go directly through the administration; the procedure is simpler, faster, and will cost you less. Don't make the same mistake as I did!
