A terrible experience with Tablo. You've been warned.

They are liars and don't respond and keep your money. Please do not use this service. They will respond quickly until you subscribe then will literally ghost you.

I don't believe I have ever left a negative review for a company in my life but I felt that it was important to do so here. When a person creates a book, it's a matter of joy and pride. The process of working with Tablo was so shockingly unprofessional, it took much of the joy out of what should have been a wonderful experience.

The writing platform on Tablo is easy to use and the print copies are of good quality. That is where the positive experience ends. If you would like to print copies of your book and sell it yourself, Tablo might work for you. However, even in that process their staff can vanish for weeks at a time.

In my experience, the sales dashboard was a mess (it did not reflect actual sales), the royalty payment system was also flawed (the "old" system took many weeks for payments to be made; the new system still required that I follow through - it was not at all "automatic"), and their staff can take weeks to respond with support (if they respond at all).

I was keen to support a small self-publishing company but the working with Tablo was one of the worst experiences I have ever had with any business.

I wish I could give 0 stars.

I placed a book order months ago, and sent dozens of emails and have still not received my order. I only got a response to 1 email of the last two months, lying and saying our books were printed and ready to ship in 2 days from that time. LIES. Nothing has been shipped. Now I have to dispute the charge through my bank because apparently my thousands of emails asking for a refund are not being answered. PLEASE DON'T WORK WITH TABLO.

AWFUL SERVICE - no response to emails

I published a book 2 years ago, I have never made a single penny back despite book sales. I wanted to cancel my year subscription when it was due to renew, they continued to try and charge me. I have emailed and used the online chat function more than five times and still yet to receive a response, however I receive marketing emails and emails saying the payment was not successful - my bank blocked them due to the amount of times they’ve tried charging me!

Unbelievably bad. I cancelled my subscription a year ago, but they've just charged me ($299) for another year's service anyway. This follows my original complaint on Trustpilot last year, when they misreported book sales. I took them about 3 months to reply then, in response to queries left via their chat and email. Let's see how long this one takes...

Last year about this time I was looking for a publisher to assist in self-publishing. I stumbled on the website of Tablo Publishing. I looked at their plans and references and sent them $334 Canadian.

After working for a bit, utilizing their software, I contacted them with a few minor questions. After numerous attempts I still received no response. I continued, a few more questions, still no response. I began to did deeper into their references (not posted on their website) and found this was a common complaint, amongst many others.

I decided at that time not to risk using their services. I figured my $334 was money lost, lesson learned. I walked away.

Recently I received a notice that they were going to charge me another $334 Canadian for my 'subscription'. I quickly deactivated my account with them. A week or two later they still charged my credit card another $334. I have not received anything from them, did not publish with them, and have informed them I want nothing from them other than the return of my second $334.

No surprise that they have not responded to numerous requests. I am posting here, and every other self-publishing site, to warn you and others to be extremely cautious in dealing with Tablo Publishing.

If they do respond eventually, I will also post an update here, that they chose to conduct themselves in an ethical manner.
In these times, with so many options, there is no reason to deal with those who do not.

New to the Tablo platform but it is awesome. Easy to navigate, set up three book outlines in an hour and can switch back and forth between them all day. Editing is a snap, adding pictures - just loving the process and looking forward to publishing.

I have always found the Tablo staff so helpful and prompt to reply. They are very knowledgeable and the advice/tips are always excellent.
Because they are writers and publishers themselves, they have the practical as well as the administrative experience in publishing. I have recommended Tablo to others and will continue to do so.
Once you decide to publish, the fees/commission etc., are clear and easy to understand.
I have not got to the final stage of publishing as yet, but I am hoping to this year. I will be using Tablo to achieve this.

I published my book at Tablo. It is beautiful and I am pleased with the service. Tablo makes writing a book a pleasure. I am excited to be working on my next book.

The best things I have found about Tablo you are a part of a family. They care about you not only your writing but you as a person and will help and advise you as much as they can.

I have had one book published and have another two in the pipeline with Tablo. I really cannot fault the whole process from the draft of the manuscript to their help to the distribution and return of profits etc. It took me a long time to dodge the con publishers and find an honest one in Tablo and I am more than happy to recommend them to anyone.

I have been with Tablo for nearly five years and the experience has been great! The team at Tablo is so patient and understanding and fast to respond. I have published a book with them and they do good work with publishing and they are reasonable. Tablo is where I would want all my books to be.

Tablo is an easy company to work with having real people answering any questions that might arise during your publishing experience. They have your back all the way, and it is very comforting to know this as you work your way through the process of having your book made available throughout the world. The dash board works faultlessly as your book sells and royalties become available. All you have to remember is that once published and in the hands of the printer the rest of the journey is much out of the hands of Tablo. It is here where you, the author, have to sell your own book and make the world wide outlets known to your readers. Tablo stays with you in ensuring all books sold are acknowledged and royalty payments find their way into your bank account. Quite an efficient and smooth running process.

I have been using Tablo for a handful of years now. They are an excellent platform for authors to write and publish at their own pace! I have always been nothing but happy with their service. I have only had to use customer service two or three times since I started writing with Tablo, and there is always personalized customer care and you feel like your needs and concerns are truly appreciated and addressed. Tablo was clearly founded by individuals who care for authors, and it shows!

I'm a published author and until now had not considered self-publishing. But I wrote a memoir just as a history for my family and a gift to them, and decided to try to self-publish with Tablo. I'm so glad I did. From the very beginning of my interactions with them to the finished product, I could not have been happier. Their responses to my many questions came quickly and were always clear and useful. The finished product is as beautiful in appearance as I had hoped, and everyone who's seen it is full of praise. Like me, they are astonished that I had to pay so little for a product that has brought my whole family a lot of joy. So now, several of the novels I've written but had rejected by conventional publishers, will have a life via Tablo. My thanks to you all at Tablo for such an author-friendly service.

I've been on Tablo for a number of years now and I love the flexibility, support and overall experience. The new features are wonderful and add to this. By using Tablo, I am in control of my own work and royalties.

I have found Tablo extremely helpful and obliging and would highly recommend them to anybody interested in publishing.

Tablo is a great relief, after self-publishing headaches of my past. This coming feels like a true service to creatives who could otherwise get bogged down by less efficient platforms. I've found great ease in the writing process, with the support of Tablo. I'm actually more inspired to write & to get my work out in the world because of it. Highly recommended!
