I was treated with respect and courtesy
Young lady (Linsey) treated me with respect and courtesy after a long struggle with the motor company who I bought the insurance from. She sorted it out with the repairer including obtaining the cost and refunded me what was due on extended insurance policy. Thank you very much Linsey. Ps if you need to get in touch with your insurer ask for Linsey
AVOID AT ALL COST/NOT WORTH IT
This company only has a very limited number of approved garages, and those are in extremely inconvenient locations. Many major claims cannot even be made, and they require you to contact them and get authorisation before any work is carried out — which makes the whole process unnecessarily stressful and complicated.
On top of that, no independent mechanic (apart from their two authorised garages) is willing to deal with them. Most garages insist on upfront payment because they are fed up with trying to work with insurance/warranty companies like this.
This warranty has been a complete waste of money. Had I known how it works in reality, I would never have purchased it.
AVOID, AVOID, AVOID!!!

Waste of time & money
Fault with my car as soon as I bought it, rang for help and they sent me to local garages. After l informing spectrum that only the car brand will look at it, they said find other garages. I have had to pay for multiple diagnostics out of my own pocket and all garages said “you will have to go straight to MINI”. (Spectrum said this can not happen)
I tried to call and fill out the help form multiple times to tell them but I have had no response. I FINALLY get through today nearly a year later after no response to any email & they say they have nothing on record of me trying to contact. What a waste of time and money spent on warranty and diagnostic tests for them to say “this needed to be fixed within 14 days of initial complaint” even though NO ONE told me that.
*I am aware that my warranty has now run out but that doesn’t make up for the fact how much money I wasted on diagnostics and that no one could get back to me.

I called spectrum a few times to sort my car out and see what the progress was on it as it had been over a week since I had reported it not working. A wonderful lady LSB received my call on two separate occasions and she was absolutely brilliant. She sorted it out straight away and had answers for me I did feel without this lady I was still left hanging around without answers and unpromised retuned calls. So if you ever need anything sorting out straight away I would ask for a call back from this lady.
Not what it says on the tin
When you buy a warranty with your car you expect it it to be carried out within their own terms. Mine was not. I had a dpf filter issue which I had diagnosed privately and they told me the dpf had failed. I made a claim and put it into one of their approved repair centres. As they found the dpf pressure sensor was faulty they replaced that and assumed all was ok. No it wasn't. Cut a long story short they ignored what I said for about 3 months and when the garage finally said yes we think it's the dpf they cheaped out amd made the garage fit an aftermarket filter. Lo and behold that failed within 200 miles of driving the car as it wasnt a suitable replacement. When the garage explained this to them they didn't want to know basically I had to pay out of my pocket nearly £2500 to have a proper genuine part fitted. They are good at small claims but when something expensive happens they dont want to know. If you buy a car from cargiant don't bother buying the warranty get a decent warranty from a reputable company. I have owned my car for around 13 months and its been in my possession for around 6 of these due to various problems. Avoid at all costs.

Rang spectrum today as I brought a warranty and had no documentation so the young woman Donna on customer services no hesitation sent documents via email while we was on the phone we was asking quite a few questions some she weren't 100% on so she put us through to another helper lindsay who guided us through the rest of it and made everything clear thank you both you was very helpful

Have had an awful experience with Spectrum, the refused two claims on my car for which I think is grossly unfair and wrong, as such I am escalating this to the Ombudsman for adjudication. They refused to replace a boot latch mechanism, saying that it was simply “loose”. NOT TRUE – it is a known fault form the Manufacturer that the latch becomes loose due to a defect in the latching mechanism. They have produced a modified part which corrects this. The net result it the boot can fly open at any moment, which it has done on me.
Second issue was that a faulty design at the front of the car allowed water when raining to make the headlamp look like it is flickering. Refused – they don’t cover headlamps!!!! The fault had nothing to do with the headlamp. The manufacturer has produced modified part to correct this fault, the part being additional flaps which divert water away from the lenses.
I wanted to cancel the policy for a pro-rata refund – nope they refused that also!!! (they try to palm this one off to the dealer – look out for that trick) this was to take a warranty elsewhere which a company I have been discussing this with whom they confirmed in writing that would have covered these faults.
Finally the said even in the event of a successful claim they would not cover the diagnostic fee.
I wrote to them on 5th January and I am yet to have any kind of coherent response.
So if I were you I would think long and hard before taking out any policy with this company. Their policies are utterly hopeless and not worth the money. Find a better company.

Had an issue with the car whilst away over Christmas. Spoke to Spectrum who were really helpful and understanding with so many garages being closed!
Got a quote, let them know, they authorised it almost immediately then I had the work done and paid myself. Sent the invoice and ive been reimbursed within 5 days. Highly recommended.

I’m not one for making reviews, but, I Called Spectrum Insurance today following taking out an extended 4 year car policy, and 1) got to speak to a human!!! wow, so impressed with the help and service I received from EMILY. She was very polite, EXTREMELY helpful, liaised with the garage (not one of their authorised garages) whilst I was on the phone, and within 15 minutes or so had sorted my claim a seamless transaction. I bought my VW Golf from Car giant . I bought there warranty. It’s been a long journey to get to where I am now however in the end I was referred to there gearbox specialist Brittanic in Tottenham. I met Nick who I explained my situation. 2 days later he restored my faith , my claim was authorised & my car drives great . Thank you to the spectrum team

Wery poor customer service the lady on the phone raised her voice and was intimidating. They cut me off when i told them I want claim a refund as I sold my car. They tricked me into signing up with them, when I had to fix my car they refused to cover me and quoted me £8,000. Please don't sign up with them it's all a scam.

Spectrum does not provide cover for ELECTRIC VEHICLES although they sell it.
Spectrum does not provide cover for ELETRIC VEHICLES. When I bought a car from CAR GIANT they offered me a 3 year insurance saying my vehicle will be covered, including battery. When I contacted Spectrum, I was told that main batteries is not covered. CAR GIANT shouldn't have tricked me into buying insurance that does not comprehensively cover electric vehicles. Very frustrating and disapointing.
