Only let down by DPD
Great products delivered very quick (next day). Only let down was that the DPD driver did not knock at the door and just left the delivery on the door step to defrost.

Mixed review
I was really excited to try Shicken. I tried tikka masala, butter chicken and bbq chicken. The order arrived quickly and was very well packaged.
The first tikka with rice I tried was very dry and mostly rice. I gave it a second try, this time adding more water. It made a difference but still not enough sauce.
The butter chicken was delicious but there was not a lot of meat free pieces. The BBQ chicken looked terrible but tasted delicious! I’d definitely buy the plant based bbq chicken and butter chicken again but definitely not the tikka with rice.
The minimum spend would put me off buying online again but if they’re ever available in a local supermarket I’d definitely buy.

DPD are AWFUL!

DPD are AWFUL!! My box arrived bashed to ****, soggy and, as I discovered when I got it inside, it was upside down!!! Looked like wilfully ignoring the instructions on top?Contacted Shicken to let them know and am awaiting a response. Need a new delivery company.

Outside of Mortisons 24 hour refund window so contacted the Shicken ‘family company’
Asked me to send photograph of the mouldy product and use by date. Which I did.
No response.

Basically replied to say not their problem.
Not helpful. Happy for me to waste my time sending pictures bit not to deal with the complaint.
It’s given me the push to avoid these ultra processed, highly artificial meat like substitutes- they are really grim if you look at the ingredients and consider just how processed they are - and they have the texture of rubberised gristle. Nasty.

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. I’m genuinely sorry this has been such a frustrating experience, and I do understand why receiving a mouldy product would be upsetting.
We did ask for the photographs so we could investigate this properly on our side, not to waste your time. Since receiving them, we checked the shelf-life testing for this product and the storage and delivery temperature records for the batch. These showed the product was kept correctly between 0–5°C while it was under our control.
We completely accept that we cannot say with absolute certainty what happened after that point. Issues such as a damaged seal, temperature fluctuations, or chiller problems can happen at different points in the chilled supply chain, which is exactly why we carried out the checks we could.
On the refund side, because the product was purchased through Morrisons and not directly from us, we do not hold your payment details and unfortunately cannot issue a refund ourselves. Retailer purchases and refunds have to be handled by the store or retailer the product was bought from, as they are the party that processed the payment.
Regarding the heatwave, we mentioned this because chilled products can be affected by wider temperature pressures in retail and transport environments. The Met Office reported that June 2026 broke the UK’s June temperature record, reaching 37.3°C on 26 June, so it was a very unusual period for chilled food handling across the country.
On your comments around ultra-processed foods, we do understand people have different views on this. For our products, we do not use artificial flavours. We use plant-based proteins, vegetables, oils, herbs and spice blends. It is also worth noting that “ultra-processed” is a very broad classification and can include everyday foods such as seeded supermarket bread, soya milk, baked beans and fortified cereals, depending on how the classification is applied.
I’m sorry again that you felt our reply came across as “not our problem”. That was not our intention. We cannot process a Morrisons refund ourselves, but we are happy to help with anything reasonable on our side, including providing any product or batch information that may support your complaint with Morrisons.
Great product let down by delivery
Great product, but unfortunately always let down by DPD delivery. The driver does not knock and leaves chilled parcels outside in direct sunlight.
All other carriers use common sense when handling chilled deliveries and deliver in hand, or avoid leaving exposed to the sun. It’s disappointing to see a great product undermined by the final stage of delivery.
