Shapeways Omdömen 

I ordered a ring recently from them and had not realized that the metal I chose for it was one that would fade and change. When I sent them an email with all the information, photos and all included, I got a very quick reply. They explained how with rings in that metal, if they sent out a new one in it, the same problem would occur. They didn't ask further questions, explained that they can't send out that ring in a different metal because of how it was ordered, and gave me a refund. I truly wasn't expecting that and it was so kind of them.I do love the ring, so I am going to order a new one in a better metal for it, and I cannot wait for it. I live in the UK and the package arrived just over 2 weeks after ordering. I don't normally write reviews, but because of how devastated I was when I had issues, and how well they handled it and how kind and quick they were, I just have to let others know. They're an amazing company and I fully recommend them. Amazing servies, products and quality. 10/10 all the way around.

Do not purchase from here if you want your part any time soon. If you need it in 2 months…you should be ok….maybe…but don’t ask their customer service for help. It’s out of their hands.

I have printed several orders at shapeways for thousand of euros since 2016. The service customer is becoming very bad unfortunately. They have shipped the last order ( paid rush mode) at the wrong address in the wrong city. I asked shapeways to help get the item or reprint and no help was given. at the end the ordre is not arrived. They should be more responsible i case of mistake. This is not acceptable and not professional.

I ordered a replacement bushing for my Toyota Tacoma tailgate. The original lasted 6 years. The one from Shapeways lasted 6 months. Below is their reply when I brought this to their attention. Essentially the reply means the warranty on the item is 10 days only.

I am very sorry to hear this. I have found your order 3873009 and see that this was placed back in May this year, unfortunately this means that I can't offer a replacement model as all complaints must be reported to us within 10 business days after the order has been received.

Of course we are always willing to make exceptions, but I unfortunately can't make an exception for an order that was received half a year ago and used. My apologies for this.

Very happy with my 3D printed metal part for my Panasonic breadmaker. No longer supplied by Panasonic, I can now continue to use my beloved breadmaker. I am a great believer in repairing not replacing when things are still serviceable. This ticks all my boxes. Quality product, better than original plastic part, arrived promptly. Great service. Die Preise steigen immer mehr. Gerade die enormen Versandkosten sind unverständlich, zumal die Produkte oft sehr schlecht verpackt und (weil der Resin-Druck vorher nicht richtig ausgehärtet wurde) kommen verzogen an. Dazu kommt noch eine separate Bearbeitungsgebühr auf die Bestellung, obwohl die Bearbeitungskosten bereits in den Produktpreisen enthalten sind. Ich habe selber ein paar Artikel in meinem Shop (nur, was ich selber für mich/mein Hobby konstruiert habe), daher ist mir die Zusammensetzung der Preise bekannt. In den letzten Monaten bekomme ich von Shapeways immer wieder Mails zur Problemlösung (gerade heute wieder), weil die Modelle nicht mehr gedruckt werden können (Modelle, die in der Vergangenheit bereits mehrfach gekauft wurden), obwohl das vor einem Jahr noch problemlos möglich war. Die Begründung: Shapeways hat den Druckpartner gewechselt. Da meine angebotenen Modelle nur "Abfallprodukte" meines Hobbys sind, ist mir egal, ob Shapeways das nun drucken und verkaufen kann, ich verdiene damit nicht mein Geld. Also mache ich nichts und Shapeways blockt daraufhin den weiteren Verkauf des jeweiligen Artikels. Shapeways verdient damit allerdings schon sein Geld (zumindest wollen sie das), daher sind sie auf die Produkte der Designer angewiesen. Die Leute, die das als Hobby betreiben legen sich zunehmend ihre eigenen Drucker zu. Von der Druckqualität ist das inzwischen auch nicht schlechter und rentiert sich bereits nach ein paar Drucks.

Great service that always deliver. Even though we're using the same material/process as with other services the quality is usually better with Shapeways. I think their default layer height is smaller than comparable services offering MJF. Would be a 5 star if their casting service was a bit faster.

Die Bestellung wurde mit Priorität und express Lieferung bestellt. Leider wurde erst am Tag der erwarteten Zustellung, Bescheid gegeben das es nicht klappt. Leider sind jetzt nochmal 6 Tage vergangen ohne Rückmeldung.

Could be faster in manufacture, but delivery is an issue.

An item was ordered for me as a present, which Shapeways produce on behalf of an American seller.

The order was shipped and there was some confusion over import duties as my sister paid from within the EU. Whilst terrible trade arrangements for UK citizens is not Shapeways fault, clarity on the checkout page would of perhaps prevented confusion.

The choice of UPS leaves the customer at the mercy of UPS's shark practices and theft.

Until they use a courier who actually deliver the goods Shapeways it will remain difficult using them.

I have contacted Shapeways customer service and received a helpful and quick reply.

Great detail on the 1/350 Nimitz upgrades. Bought most of their products and they look better in person than on catalog. Also shipment times beat estimates every time. Never seen detail this good on any other 3D products for Nimitz ships. High key recommended.

Had a minor misprinting problem which was remedied with courtesy, efficiency and alacrity.

No phone support, email response delayed until they could say too late to change design. Wasted hundreds. Snarky, uncaring, bad quality. Look elsewhere.

Products don't match advertised designs. When they don't it's not their problem, it's the designer's fault. Some customer service. I'm all set. Done doing business with ya. Thanks.

Asked to cancel an order minutes after placing it.
Customer service rep would not cancel it. Instead they kept asking if I was sure I wanted to cancel that order.
They eventually waited so long the item went into production then they “couldn’t cancel it” and said I should have asked to cancel before it entered production

I ordered an item from Shapeways which was dispatched quickly and then lost by the courier. When I contacted Shapeways they checked with the courier company and came back to be the same day to tell me they were sending a replacement. The item was delivered today. 10/10 Shapeways. The courier company not so much!
