Ho acquistato una unità Exos da rivenditore italiano con negozio fisico. Fattura regolare. Sono andato a registrare l'unità sul sito per attivare la garanzia che in questo caso dovrebbe essere 5 anni. Amaramente scopro che non sono il proprietario dell'oggetto.
Dopo una fatica immane per avere un contatto, in un primo momento con un robot, poi sempre in chat con un umano, rigorosamente ci sono tutte le lingue, ma l'italiano no. L'umano fa approfondimenti ed esce fuori che trattasi unità OEM, questo acronimo terribile che significa che l'oggetto non vanta una garanzia di 5 anni. L'etichetta è identica a quella che sta sul sito con tanto di QC per la genuinità ma che trattasi di bene diverso non è scritto da nessuna parte. Quindi la garanzia è di 2 anni presso il rivenditore. Anche il rivenditore ha omesso questa informazione. MI astengo dal citarlo per il momento in quanto neanche lui ha chiara questa cosa probabilmente è stato truffato anche lui. Perchè si signori miei questa è una truffa bella e buona perchè la dichiarazione dei termini di garanzia fa parte dei requisiti essenziali del prodotto. Prodotto diverso etichetta diversa. Il prodotto in se per se da l'idea di essere buono è il produttore a non essere valido dal punto di vista della correttezza. Ironia della sorte la Seagate mi invia anche una email per ringraziarmi di aver registrato l'acquisto!!!!

Von 4 gekauften HDD ist nun die dritte innerhalb der Garatiezeit kaputt gegangen. RMA mit Anspruch auf Garantieersatz konnte ich stets problemlos machen.
Die erste Platte wurde anstandslos ersetzt. Leider kam nach ein paar Wochen von UPS eine Rechnung für Zoll, MWSt und die üblichen Phantasiegebühren. Etwa habl so hoch wie der Preis einer HDD.
Die zweite wurde anstandslos, ohne Gebühren ersetzt.
Die dritte musste ich nach Holland senden (Porto ca. CHF 30.00). Keine neue HDD erhalten und auch keine Rückmeldung auf meine Mail Anfrage.

Ordered $2k of drives and sat in "processing" state for 3 weeks until i contacted them. after 30 minute chat they said they needed to cancel.

I ordered six drives for a NAS. One of them was defective out of the box. The return process is terrible.

Recently upgraded to the 4gb drive in which the circuit board failed after a couple of months. Urgently needing the files it stored we replaced the circuit board temporarily to rescue the situation (which worked) but I am now left with drive that doesn't and in breach of Seagate's ridiculous warranty. It takes a month from when they receive a drive to restore data (which is no good to anyone!!...) and they are possibly one of the most inaccessible companies I have ever encountered! serious try elsewhere ! BUT wait ...
now they say - 'In this case, due to the information provided, we have determined that a replacement is indeed necessary to resolve the problem effectively.' BUT NO Seagate won't replace it... it's the retailers problem!!! Good luck with that - Not sure I would want to sell let alone buy Seagate products.

I will never purchase any seagate products ever again, and you shouldn't either. I purchased an external hard drive last December. Everything seemed fine at first, but month by month the drive started to process my files very slowly and eventually it stopped working. My warranty was still active so I shipped it to them to recover my data. Not only did they took more than the promised 30 days to fix the problem, but they failed to do their job and costed me years of personal data that I'll never get back. I had to contact customer support several times to find out why it was taking so long to update me on the recovery process. Stay away from this company.

Le processus de RMA a pris un peu de temps, mais Seagate m'a finalement renvoyé un nouveau disque après que celui acheté chez un revendeur soit tombé en panne.

Staff lack any critical thought process that might deliver goodwill to their company and the client.
Would rather stick to their unhelpful mantra :-(
It's not worth expanding

I have been using Seagate hardisk internal and it's size was 2TB. it worked for two years and now it's not working. I even took to a professional but it's dead. I even have a Western Digital hard disk which is working fine by me. But seas gate Hard disks are the worst. Don't ever buy Seagate hard disks.

someone should fine and investigate this company. They don't know what the they are doing. They discontinued customer service and you have to chat online, but the guy online takes forever to respond and even said he has 100's of texts to respond to. THEY ARE DISGUSTING. The government letting them get away with this shows how they are in bed together. I WILL NEVER BUY THEIR PRODUCT AGAIN. We need a class action lawsuit.

I have had 5 Seagate external hard drives, most of them "Backup Plus". All of them have failed for no reason. This last one is 2 years old, 4TB drive. Same computer as usual, same operating system, same cable. I plug it in every 6 months for backup, so I have used it 4 times. Never fell, never moved...nothing. Now the computer ( and all other computers ) say there is no disk and have to format it....losing everything AGAIN. Luckily I have another copy on another drive kownig how bad these Seagate are. The other 4 drives had a similar failure, except one that didn´t even show up. Really ridiculous that a company working in backup, makes you lose so much information all the time and it´s so unreliable.

seagate sucks, im always having to reformat their drives

4TB Hard drive failed after only a few months. No contact support that I have been able to speak to so far. If I finally manage to get a hold of costumer service I might think about changing my review but so far I am as disappointed in the customer service as I am with a hard drive that is dead after only 3-4 months. In a professional aspect, I wouldn't recommend these drives. I will now have to take it to a local store to try and recover the data, but will certainly now have to replace this particular drive as I cannot be sure that this drive will be trust worthy again. I hope that Seagate can regain my trust.

a really bad product with no support for lost files.

SAV inexistant, produit retourné (Disque 6 To de moins d'un an) avec preuve de réception à l'appui et déclaré non reçu.
Après de multiples échanges et renvoi des justificatifs d'expédition et de réception, dossier clôturé.

Ich dümmerchen habe erneut von Seagate eine externe Festplatte (USB Anschluss) gekauft für Playstation Konsole. Es kommt häufig die Meldung dass die Festplatte "nicht ordnungsgemäss getrennt" wurde, obwohl ich weder die Konsole noch die Festplatte berühre. danach kommt die Meldung dass sie repariert wird, man repariert dann ca. 5-8 Mal bis sie dann funktioniert (hohe Zeitverlust) Der Steckertyp an der Festplatte ist sehr miserable (ich weiss den Steckertyp nicht, ist kein USB-C oder sonst ein USB Typ). Diese Produkte bei Seagate sind ein haufen Schrott. Zum glück gibt es Konkurrenten. Lässt die Finger von Seagate wenn ihr kein Ärger wollt. Die Mitarbeiter von dieser Firma sollte man ...!

the plug at the hard drive is so flimsy that the slightest bump and it comes out, meaning one has to start the whole backup process over again.
Ideally i could do my back ups when i go out, but unfortunately as soon as the laptop goes to sleep the backup stops as well, so when I get home I have to wait another half hour for the backup to finish.

"2 year rescue service" is a scam. I had my Seagate harddrive for 1.5 years until it experienced a problem. I sent it for repairs and they just returned it saying it was no longer covered by the warranty. Didn't try to get in contact with me or resolve the issue or anything.

Fortunately, Amazon confirmed that the item was still within warranty and gave me a refund. But I'm very disappointed in Seagate and I won't be buying one of their products again.

Habe mich an den Kundenservice online gewandt, da von der neuen Festplatte (3 Tage in Betrieb) das USB-Kabel schon defekt war (nur noch Stromübertragung, aber keine Datenübertragung mehr). Lt. Kundenservice könne hier nicht das schadhafte Teil (Kosten 5 Euro?) getauscht werden, da Seagate nur ganze Festplatten MIT dem Kabel verkauft. Somit wurde mit statt einem Austausch auch nur der NeuKAUF einer Festplatte angeboten... gehts noch?
