Salt cell stopped working after 2 months. Once you send back the unit for replacement under warranty they do not longer contact you.
This company is a scam. Do not buy from them!!

OMG!!!!! I should have read the reviews. Ordered a salt cell and installed it. It has a cracked housing. Spoke to Crystal, she said to send an email with photos. NO RESPONSE! Now when I call they hang up on me. Who are these people?

Scam ,Scam, Scam .This company should not be doing business in this country nor anywhere else.They sold me a platinum tcell from AU that does not work with the Hayward system at all but they state on their website it is compatible. They will not provide credit back for the return. BUYER BEWARE and do not buy from this scammer online store!

Purchased salt cell for $359 with 5 year warranty. It failed in two years. Company instructed me to send cell back at my expense. $24.00 for shipping. They then advised me I would have to pay $445.00 for a warranty replacement. When I complained they said they base the warranty on what they call the regular price of $900.00 plus price. The same new cell is still on their website for $359.00. The warranty is a scam and is false advertising. I have filed a complaint here in California and looking to file one in their city. These guys are crooks and scammers. I'm out my cell and my shipping fee.

Salt Pool Store is a joke. Paid $359 for a new salt cell with a 5 year warranty. It failed after 13 months. When I finally got in touch with them, I was told to ship the cell back to them and it would be inspected and I would be notified with the status...I had to pay $46 to ship it back to them. After 2 weeks, I had still not heard anything from them so I reached out again. About 5 days later I was notified that that my prorated warranty would allow me to get another salt cell for $267. That was a savings of $46 compared to the cost of a new salt cell. Keep in mind this is with a salt cell that was 13 months old and had a 60 month warranty. STAY AWAY FROM THIS SCAM.

They sell products with 5 year warranty but actually is 1 year and you have to shipping that could cost $40 or more, the rest remaining is pro rated up to 70%

Chlorinator failed in six months. Seller sent a heat sensor part for me to wire in instead of a replacement. Part and repair did not resolve the problems. Had examined by professional poolshop. Product had melted internally and was non rerepairable. All documented with photos. Seller insists I pay to ship failed part and then they will decide on replacement. Meanwhile I have not pool filtration. The seller has literally hundreds of complaints with BBB where they do not send replacements and other issues.
Seller 'customer service' is useless and snide. Seller only uses shipping fronts in US, uses multiple addresses, not any are real seller locations. Salt Pool Store is successor to closed Compu Pool in Austrailia, also selling defective pool chlorinators since at least 2010.
The product is crap and the company is worse. FRAUDSTERS!

I had the same experience! Complete scam. They show on their website an MSRP (sometimes 2X )compared to their selling price. The MSRP is bogus. But they use that price to prorate your cost for warranty claim. For me to get a replacement cell under warranty, they wanted to charge me more than their online selling price. Their reasoning is that the warranty fine print says prorate of the MSRP not selling price.

We ordered a replacement cell for our RJ-45 Circupool unit after talking to them and being assured it would fit our unit. After arrival it was obvious it would not fit. Immediately returned the unit and ask for a refund. They have denied the refund and given us store credit AND DO NOT CARRY A CELL FOR OUR UNIT. They have a Satisfaction Guarantee on refunds which they do not honor. BUYER BEWARE Order # SPS83689

As stated by many others here, the warranty on their salt cells is essentially a sham. They claim to have a 5 year pro-rated warranty, which on the surface, seems pretty good. However, if your salt cell fails within this 5 year period (and it will), god help you. First, you have to fork out your own money to send the faulty cell back to them. After that, the silence and eventual run-around starts. Once you finally get them to respond, you find out that the pro-rated discount on a replacement cell is a percentage of the inflated "retail" price of the cell. So I paid $359 for a new salt cell that they claim has a retail price of $899. Once I finally got my warranty replacement invoice for a cell that failed at the 3 year mark, they want me to pay $623 for it. So getting a replacement cell on a pro-rated warranty is almost twice the price of just buying a new one. Do not give these people your business, they are scam artists at best.

Cell failed while on vacation and came back to green pool. First temp sensor and now salt production. They want to blain my board and don’t want to deal with the warrenty. They are a scam I am claim financial as well what a mess. They must post fake reviews on their own site

I wish I could give them a negative star review but unfortunately they are awarded with one star. They have a good scam going for salt water pool owners. They scammed me out of $399 when they shipped me an incompatible salt cell and they refused to refund me my money. Their refund policy shows a refund to Credit Card, but when I asked for a refund instead of a store credit, they showed me a different refund policy which is only for a store credit. A store credit to a company that only sells salt cells, most of which are not compatible with anyone's equipment (as I've learned well after the fact) does me no good, so they basically got $399 out of me for absolutely nothing.

Ordered a salt cell they sent me a defective one. Made me pay to send it back. They provided the wrong address. Made me pay to ship it to the correct address. The received it found it was faulty and will only give me a store credit and not covering my shipping costs. I want a full refund and never to do business with this company again!

Scam company sent me a damaged item, lied and said I didn’t purchase insurance which was not an option through the PayPal check out. I double verified I paid with my money $15 to ship back then after two weeks of not receiving money they refund me $174 for a $249 item, this is a scam artist company selling junk products. Look at all the negative reviews. I will be calling the Better Business Bureau and filing claims.

I think they may be getting ready to go out of business because the company has changed. I bought out salt cell in 2022 and it stopped working in 2023. Under the 5 year warranty, I was able to return it and get a replacement with no problem. Unfortunately that one started leaking in 2023 and it has been a nightmare. They gave me a bad address for the return and refused the return. I sent it again and this time they have my device - but are not processing a replacement or refund! Now they have my money and my device! I'll keep fighting them though.

Yea me too, should have read the reviews, these people suck, they lie, their customer service is terrible, They made me ship the return product back to a wrong address, which they gave me, then I had to pay again to send it to another address, then they deducted $108 from the return credit. The product went bad under warranty and I was sent an empty envelop, claiming to have the repair parts in it, which they never made good.

Should have read reviews first. Purchased pool pilot cell PC-1 two weeks after I received it it started leaking. Yes under warranty but you pay for shipping $50 dollars and jump through a lot of hoops.pictures,written statement,waiting for approval,ect. Then I received the second cell and it leaked on start up. Great get to do it all over again on this one I could not get any response so I gave up. Also because of the leaks around the cells terminal it corroded the terminals inside the plug I had to buy a new cord at $80. Now I have around $400 into this mess and that’s the same price as a original oem cell. Next step report to BBB. Do not purchase anything from this company or you will loose.

Should have read the reviews! Ordered Platinum salt cell T-15 June 2024. Never worked and company doesn’t respond. Do your self a favor and don’t get sucked in by the attractive warranty. Complete scam. Buy from somewhere else so this fraud goes away

Exact same issue as everyone else. Product worked for about a year. The 5 year warranty is a complete scam - it will cost you more to have it replaced under warranty than it would cost to just buy a new one. Their response is below:

This generic cell carries the following Limited 5 year pro rata warranty should fault occur due to faulty manufacture or materials, under normal use and service.

For residential use, Platinum Edition Salt Cells warrants the original purchaser that the equipment shall be free of manufacturer defects at the time of sale and upon examination, shall provide replacement parts or repair in accordance with the following schedule.

First Year. Replacement cell supplied from our facility at no cost. Platinum Edition Salt Cells reserves the right to determine whether or not a cell will be replaced with a new or refurbished cell or repaired.

Second Year. Replacement cell supplied from our facility at 30% of MSRP

Third Year. Replacement cell supplied from our facility at 50% of the MSRP

Fourth Year. Replacement cell supplied from our facility at 70% of the MSRP

Fifth Year. Replacement cell supplied from our facility at 70% of the MSRP

For commercial use in any “regulated pool”, all parts are warranted against defect for a period of one year, without pro-ration.

1.9 The warranty may be void if the following occurs:

• Damage to the unit beyond Platinum Edition Salt Cells control.

• If correct pool chemistry is not maintained.

• The cell is not cleaned regularly or cleaned by any other method other than by the method recommended by the manufacturer. Damage due to improper service.

This warranty is applicable to workmanship and materials only and Platinum Edition Salt Cells, its agents, employees, and affiliates expressly disclaim responsibility for loss, damage, or injuries to persons or property arising from warranty failure, or installation of equipment.

1. In no event shall Platinum Edition Salt Cells be responsible for any consequential, special or incidental damages of any nature whatsoever, including, but not limited to, personal injury, property damage, damage to or loss of equipment, lost profits or revenue, costs of renting replacements, and other additional expenses, even if the seller had been advised of the possibility of such damages.

Warranty claims must be initiated in a timely manner.

it is calculated off the manufacturers retail price which is the price that is crossed off on the product page as its a manufacturers warranty..
It is not calculated off the sale price ..

Should have read their reviews before purchasing a replacement salt cell. The cell stopped working after 12 months and submitted a warranty claim. They sent email asking for pictures and then said that it must be sent in for testing since it was more than a year old. Paid to ship the cell using their instructions and they refused the package so it was returned by UPS. They did not respond to further emails
