Machine only worked with the handheld hose and it leaked loads of water underneath. I couldn’t get it to turn on the main part to clean carpets. I couldn’t get through to a person on customer service, nor did the links to instructions help. In the end, I just took it back. Such a shame as have rented the machines before and had a really positive experience.

The machine was very erratic when it was spraying - sometimes it sprayed too much and sometimes it didn't spray anything, despite there being plenty of water in the tank. The window for the return water was cloudy and that made it difficult to see whether there was any return water coming through or whether the tank needed refilled.
The hand attached was unusable because of a bad lead at the water hose connection.
I have used it the Rug Doctor machine a number of times previously and this was my worst experience ever.

Good easy to use.

Easy to use, good pricing, and good cleaning.

The only complaint is the machine, especially the wheels, is quite dirty, so I needed to 'deep clean' the machine before it can deep clean my carpet.

Easy to book.
Collection and return was straightforward.
White bucket was tricky to empty and clean.

The machine was good and performed as expected but I had to call customer services twice to get it working properly.

It Does what says on the tin, have used it years ago and it was the same then.

So easy to book, collect and return the equipment. The Rug Dr is so good at lifting dirt from the carpets. I couldn't believe how much dirt came out! So pleased with the results. My carpets have been restored and dog odour totally gone! Would recommdnd and will use again.

Had to find a local outlet with a machine available. Just turned up at Asda to find no machine available. Luckily The Range had one which is not that far away. My advice is go on line and book a machine.

Unfortunately a very stressful experience.
You can’t pay using a Monzo card online and have to calm the customer service line.
Which I was in the phone to whilst in a Tesco store.
The state of the machine was shocking. Looked like it needed to be binned.
I cut my finger on a rough edge.
I got home, it was filthy…full of hair and sand!
I then spend over 40mins cleaning it. Started to use it and it leaked everywhere. So dangerous!
Called the customer help line, was told this is a fault they are away of.
Then go back to Tesco, for a replacement.
Have to clean the machine again & had to repeat the above!
Leaked everywhere and wasted a full bottle of cleanser. Costing £14!
The lady I spoke to was not interested at all. Was told to put a complaint in writing, which I did. 4 days ago. No reply.
I will say though Owen was helpful in tne first call.
Was told I would be refunded!
No refund either.
Is not like what they advertise on instagram x

The hand tool stopped working and we couldn’t get it to spray the water and the machine was just really bulky. I had intended to do the whole house but returned after one room. I have a small vac at home and it delivers the same results.

Rug Doctor is so easy to hire, to collect and to use. I cleaned all my carpets, sofa and even the kitchen floor on one bottle of standard carpet cleaner in about 4 hours of work.
Ive used it before when my daughter changed flat at University. Abaolutely brilliant

Hiring and picking up the machine was easy and didn’t have any problems, that started when I got it home. I opened the tank to fill it with water and the most rotten smell hit me, it smelt like rotten eggs and baby sick so I spent about half an hour cleaning the whole machine and underneath where the brush bar was as that was disgusting too before I could use it.
I was on two minds about whether to use it or not and against my better judgment I ‘cleaned’ my carpet with it. Afterwards my whole room smelt musty and I had to throw my lounge rug away. The carpet dried out overnight and I had to go over it again with my own vax carpet cleaner just to get rid of the smell. I emailed rug doctor customer service asking for my money back and never received a reply. I’ll never hire a rug doctor machine again and I’ll never recommend them to anyone
